We ordered the beef koobideh and joined chicken with green rice
Imran S.

Now I've had my fair share of persian food in NYC, Las Vegas, Florida and Tehrangeles (Vestvood like my persian friend's dad would say) and I have to say, *chef's kiss , Parisi's food was on point. I guess being a non persian (Pretty sure I got some persian roots in my family tree) giving full five stars may seem to Persian's like "Aray, what does he know?! He's not Parsian !". But I do know a thing or 2 about persian food; being around persian moms in their kitchens quite a lot should count. With that said , service was excellent. The waitstaff was very attentive, the concierge who gave us the table was very hospitable and the vibe inside was quite fancy dining. The place was 1/4 full since we went there the last hour and half they were open (and it was New Year's Eve). When we received the food , the plating was clean and the food was A+. The gheymeh was tasty and went amazing with their perfectly crisped tahdig. This was the first time my friend had Persian food and was amazed at the flavor and texture. I ordered the joojeh kebab for her and classic beef koobideh for myself with the green rice. I use koobideh and tahdig as the gold standard of every persian restaurant because if they can get the basics on point then everything else will be amazing... and amazing it was. The food was definitely the star of the show, and we enjoyed every bite of it. After we were done and paid the bill, I thought to myself " if you had me dining in a shack with the same food served to me, I'll be equally happy." I say ignore the other one star reviews and go with zero expectations. If they can get the joojeh, koobideh and tahdig on point, then what more can you ask for?

Faloodeh

This gem lleft me thoroughly impressed. The restaurant's warm and welcoming ambiance set the tone for the meal ahead. For my wife's entree, she tried the Fezenjan, a classic Persian dish made with chicken in a rich, flavorful pomegranate and walnut sauce. The dish was absolutely delicious and had the perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors. My wife is familiar with Iranian cuisine and she felt at home In addition to the Fezenjan, I tried the Sultans Kebab, which was a mouth-watering combination of Barg Kebab and Ground Beef Kebab served with fragrant basmati rice. The meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. Before the main course, we enjoyed the Tahdig appetizer, which was crispy and flavorful. The contrast between the crispy exterior and the soft, fluffy interior was impressive. To round out the meal, I indulged in the Faloodeh dessert, which was the perfect ending to such a fantastic meal. Overall, I highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic Iranian dining experience. The Fezenjan, Sultans Kebab, and Tahdig were all fantastic, and the friendly service and cozy atmosphere made the experience even better.

Lamb Shank Dinner

I only have great things to say about this place. The food tasted amazing. It was fresh and tasty. The portions were big.The green rice was yum. My favorite was the chicken koobideh.Melt in the mouth and very flavorful. Lamb shank was cooked to perfection. It was falling off the bone. The service was very good. They were very accommodating with the children in our group.

We felt like it was a chicken over rice day, so immediately we thought about going to Parisa, since I love their rice and their chicken kebobs are darn delicious. Happy to say, I was pleased with our lunch, as I got served exactly what I had anticipated. A plate with two skewers of perfectly cooked chicken kobideh, with soft and puffy rice. I like their mashed eggplant dish too, another regular item for us at Parisa. Kudos to them for maintaining the quality and service.

Beef and Chicken Kebob

This has become my favorite spot for Persian food and some BYOB wine in the Ridgewood area! I will start with the food. I came here twice- once two weeks ago and then this weekend. Yes, it was so good, I visited two weekends in a row. First time I got the dolmeh (grape leaves) and sambuseh (dumplings with chickpeas). Both super tasty and made well. The complimentary bread is fresh and baked by them in-house I believe. They give homemade chutney with it which compliments it well but the bread is even tasty alone with a bit of butter or olive oil. I ordered the salmon kebab with a side of veggies. Huge portion and I love they take the time to even make the veggie substitute so delicious and perfectly char grilled. I don't want to just braise over the salmon because this was my favorite dish in the whole place! My husband got the beef and chicken kebabs which were flavorful, juicy, and just delicious. The next week we came back and pretty much got the same things except I got one of the vegetarian stews and we also got the olovieh salad. As we're Russian and Polish, we really enjoyed the olovieh because our moms make something similar! That's another thing with Parisa, the food is so homemade. The flavors are not overburdened by sauces but really shine for themselves in the freshness and care that is put into making them. I love the decor of this place. It's very cozy and decorated in good taste, with red abstract art on the walls and beautiful light pieces. The service was excellent both times that we went. There is a warm ambiance that fills you as you sip your glass of red wine or Coca Cola while enjoying the flavorful, aroma filled food. I've DoorDashed from here before and while I have enjoyed it, I will continue to come here to dine in. There is a nice feeling as you sit and enjoy your food here.

Dessert, saffron ice cream I enjoyed since isn't that sweet, very good for me but no for my son

First time ever at this friendly restaurant. Food was good meat was tender but it locked in flavor, fish was delicious so it was the lamb but something was missing, maybe it is me since I never tried their food before, but I have to say the beef kebab was the best full of flavor well cook and the rice complemented this dish with the delicious salad. Would I go back to the restaurant.... I'm not sure I would but not cause I didn't like but because isn't my type of restaurant. Would I recommend it ?... absolutely!!! Friendly and clean atmosphere and food in general is good. You may like it more then me

Kashk-Bademjan. Good version of this fantastic eggplant appetizer.

Short review: Would recommend the kebobs the most. Barg is fantastic. Koobideh is excellent also. Fessenjan is good though better at the other places in town. Appetizers are fine. Actual review: Located where the old Vietnamese place was, this is now the third Persian restaurant in Ridgewood. By comparison, this place is in-between the other two places; slightly more comparable to Pardi's outside of the less expensive stews and the food quality is definitely closer to Pardi's (which makes sense if someone from there works here now.) Anyway, I ordered from this restaurant over the previous weekend wanting to try the new place for three people. While they have an online website, it is difficult to customize such as changing to a specialty rice so I hope that is changed as it's probably easier for them to order from the website. We went with two appetizers and three entrees and along with the dishes we ordered, they also included some bread (which was good but I prefer sangak/Persian flatbread) and two small salads and even a little container of sumac which was a nice touch. Everything was packaged nicely also. The appetizer menu is a bit smaller (perhaps due to them opening pretty recently) but they have the general Persian assortment so we went with Kashk-Bademjan which is always ordered from the other places and Sambuseh though perhaps I would go with Tahdig or something similar next time. Kashk-Bademjan is an eggplant appetizer which is listed as "sautéed eggplant (Bademjan) mixed with yogurt, topped with fried garlic & onions, sautéed mint, and finished off with creamed whey (Kashk.) This version was excellent just like the other places with the texture being maybe a bit softer. Sambuseh is essentially a Persian samosa and it was alright though I'm personally not that big of it in general. It was a bit less crispy than other places so I probably would not order it again. There's other appetizers I'd prefer that aren't on the menu like kuku sabzi as well as ones I do prefer (pickles) but if the menu is kept and I'm ordering with others who don't want pickles, I'd probably go with tahdiq next time. For the main dishes, one person got a Barg (filt) Kebob cooked medium, I got the Sultani (or rather soltānī) kebob cooked medium rare which is a combination kebob of ground beef (Koobideh) and said Barg, and the other person went with Fessenjan which is one of my favorite dishes being boneless chicken cooked in pomegranate paste with crushed walnuts. Another person and I substituted our rice with albaloo polow (sour cherry rice) which was similarly only $3 extra while the other person got a Shirazi salad instead of rice which is is a normal substitution. Compared to the other places, the meats here were overall better with the Barg Kebob in particular being cooked perfectly (with an actual medium rare center.) The Koobdieh was nicely spiced and both were very tender. The only complaint I can make is that they did not include the usual pickled cabbage you find at the other places which helps balance the meat and perhaps the portions were a little bit smaller but I might be mistaken. The rice was nicely made with a good amount of sour cherries though I prefer it slightly at Pardi's due to it being more fluffy. I tried a little bit of the Fessenjan which was also excellent though it looked a bit off before being mixed due to the oil rising but this can be expected with the pickup. There was an adequate amount of tender chicken and unlike the other places, it was boneless. I think this place compares nicely to the other two restaurants. I think it's definitely better than Kebob on the Cliff being more similar to Pardi's in terms of quality and I would recommend it for a more casual night out compared to the latter. The place had one good appetizer but the main dishes were fantastic with a good stew and notably excellent kabobs which were better than most other Persian spots I've been to. Whoever grills them deserves the highest praise. Mid 4 mostly due to the fantastic kebobs and reasonable pricing.

Wanted to try something different so we picked Parisa. Wow are we happy we did. We walked in without a reservation and were able to get a table. Next time we will definitely make a reservation as it fills up quickly. They served bread with 2 different dipping sauces and will say the cilantro based green sauce was outstanding. Such good flavor with just the right amount of heat. Definitely off to a great start. We decided on the sambuseh as an appetizer and the combination platter kabob for dinner. The combo came with a fresh cucumber bean salad that was light and flavorful and also rice that was delicious. The meats included were chicken steak and chop meat kabob. All were filled with flavor and cooked perfectly, very tender. The service was friendly and prompt and the prices are definitely reasonable for what you receive. We loved everything about it and will definitely return. Highly recommended. Enjoy.

Amazing place with wonderful food and service this is not only the best Persian restaurant in ridgewood but also Bergen County .ambience food service top notch

I've loved Pardis and on Christmas Eve decided to try Parisa. They kept it open for us and accommodated our Diet specifications (I went with vegetarians and I am allergic to egg) I was disappointed the hummus etc had egg but consoled myself with their Pilafs (Albaloo Polo and Zereshk Polo) , Kashk Madmejan and Mast o Moosir and Mast o Khiar. There fresh lemonade and Irani FALOODA was highly recommended too I highly recommend the Kashk Madmejan, Mast o Moosir and Albaloo Polo . It's my favorite meal.

Though not huge, their menu is plant based with an assortment of brunch/lunch items like bowls, salads and interesting sushi, as well as smoothies and other drinks. If you're open to vegan food and uncommon items in a western diet, you'll enjoy it. The pad thai slaw and sushirito were delicious and well made and everything on the menu was inviting. The teas were lovely and I really enjoyed being able to select a blend of herbs for my tea mug. There was some herbal water available, and a selection of desserts on the counter and in the fridge - chocolatey delights like "snickers" bars. We found a corner next to the stage with two armchairs and a coffee table which was the coziest corner to sit and chat. Though it was Friday afternoon at lunch time and there were several other small groups, it never felt crowded and we were able to stay for a few hours enjoying our tea and meal. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, and non-intrusive. You order at the counter and then sit down, and we were not disturbed at all besides our meal being brought to us when it was ready. Parking is limited but at least they have a lot. It's a short walk into the main part of the town. They also occasionally host events. Looking forward to returning!

Everything is vegan--I love it because for me it's less to worry about. Ambiance is comfortable, very similar to how they setup the dining room in their old location--which was earthy and homey. This location has an addition of an art room! For art days--appeared to be an area where adults and children can create art. I didn't venture in. Animals are welcome, some patrons had their dogs. Service was great. The cashier charged us for something we did not order and promptly sent a refund. They didn't have the salads and burritos from the previous menu but the owner told me that the menu items will eventually return. Will definitely come back!

The clams needed some better cleaning since I had a few with some sand in them. Stand out dish was the Fettuccine with shrimp. I started the meal with a Montepulciano wine and was taken aback how wonderfully sweet it was. For my second drink of the evening, I tried their blue fizz gin drink which I also enjoyed and packed more of a punch being it was a liquor drink versus wine. My gf and I shared a mushroom bruschetta which was decent. If I could have a redo I probably would order something else but that is just due to me not loving a hard and toasted bread which yes, I am very aware is the nature of brushetta ; ) I ordered the grilled veal which came garnered with mushrooms and I subbed out the string beans for Brussel sprouts, the meal also came with roasted potatoes. The roasted potatoes were exceptional. Brussel sprouts needed some more seasoning, which was an easy fix, just pour a dabble of salt on them, ez pz. The veal could have used perhaps a dipping sauce or a sauce to enhance the flavor, but it was certainly delicious, I finished it all without fail. The gf went with the spaghetti and chicken parm dish. She stated she enjoyed it but was expecting more leading to the lead up to coming here. Now FYI, this is a monster piece of chicken, so you are getting good value for your buck as you should definitely have a number of leftovers. I was studying the light fixture on our table, and it looked like the owner who came over to me and gave me all the details on the beautiful piece and was very friendly. If you are celiac or need to eat gluten free, I think you will enjoy your dining experience here. As always people SYOY!!!
