3. Shirazi Salad
Rohini G.

I really enjoyed their cornished hen and with shireen palau in the poultry specials section. Pieces had a nice char without tasting over burnt and the bones were very manageable. Pieces were tender and well marinated. The rice was bursting with flavor, especially the orange peel which brightened the whole dish. They also brough house bread with the cilantro chili chutney and white sauce which also paired well with the grilled chicken. Servings were generous and easily became two meals for me. A quick norte, this spot is cash only! We didn't have enough so we ended up using Zelle!

Tabuli salad, delicious

Found this Persian and Mediterranean restaurant via a search of restaurants in Williston Park. I recall driving around and seeing so many places I haven't yet tried. Another hood worth exploring given I've found a few gems previously. I was here for lunch with a friend who loves Persian food as much as I do. She was the perfect dining buddy since we love lamb and Cornish Hen. We tried a little of everything - over ordered as planned (so we could take it to go) and to try more stuff on the menu. The wait staff was friendly and thought we were ordering for four! We said we just like to eat! I must say, the lunch specials were all great value priced meals (you gotta see the menu, I took a photo) but we couldn't resist the rest of the offerings instead. For appetizers: - The Combination plate of three "starters", our choices were the hummus (real smooth), baba ganoush (it was whipped nicely but I would have wanted more chunks of eggplant, this one was creamy not chunky) and the sambooseh (really good - these crispy turnovers are filled with vegetables and chickpeas). We enjoyed this platter with a warm basket of pita and yogurt sauce. There was a mint chutney served as well on the side. My friend liked it, I only sampled a little given I am a sucker for the yogurt sauce. - Tabuli salad, very light and refreshing. Had a hint of lemon, lots of tomatoes and parsley. There was only a little bulgar wheat, but it was nicely balanced with the red onions. Loved this. Since we were about to eat so much meat, this was a much needed "greens" to keep our plates balanced as well. Entrees - there was only one that stood out amongst the others, fair pricing, it was meant to be shared, good for 3-4 people indeed. We ordered the Combination plate. It had everything we wanted... barg, kobideh and joujeh. Served with a giant portion of basmati Rice (sumac provided on the side) and beautifully grilled tomatoes. This was really good. Met our expectations and only comment here, the Cornish Hen looked more like mini chicken pieces but still grilled nicely. A few sides were a little too charred but the meat was tender and juicy, that was most important. (We didn't finish obviously, saved half to go so we could save room for dessert)! Dessert time: - Persian Tea for her (smelled lovely), Turkish Coffee for me (looked like an espresso cup, it was delicious. My only comment here, at the bottom of the cup, I got my last sip with some ground bits. Not sure why but that was not a good last taste). - Faludeh, this was really pleasant. The creamy rice noodles were served in a dessert cup with Rose water. It was light and not over powering. The lemon syrup was on the side so you could adjust to your taste. And cherry syrup on the side as well...too bad no fresh cherries. That would have made the difference for the extra half star. - Zoolbia and Bamieh, that's what was on the menu but I think we just got the Zoolbia... It was fried dough dipped in honey and served with whipped cream. Not quite as pictured. But it was definitely sweet. And definitely freshly made. I was in sweetness overload. LOL. Overall, a lovely lunch. A solid spot for great food. Totally would recommend. Again, certain things could have been better so I can't give it a five star rating. But nevermind that, just enjoy the food and company you're with.

A lovely gem in the new Hyde park area! I ordered the salmon kebab. It was extremely deliciously. The yogurt sauce was a great addition to the meal. I kept pouring the yogurt on the rice. The Persian tea is soothing to the tummy. I ordered it twice. The Persian ice cream is a must try! It had a slight rose water taste to it. The baklava is also a must try! Soft mini squares with a delicious amount of honey, you can taste.

The food and service were great. Their food was healthy and not too heavy. The ambiance was nice with a few families in there with us. I want to try more things on their menu!

Love this place. Solid food, great prices, attentive service. Is a staple place and has never failed us.

Ordered I placed around $137

So my daughter asked me order the food since she really like this restaurant, she wasn't eating well from few days because she was little sick so I decided to order so she can eat and feel better. I place an order well over $130 and after 15 minutes I realized that last time we ordered from the restaurant they send in very little sauce and rice, I went over the google and asked them to can you please add the extra sauce. After 5 minutes I got notified that my order is cancelled by restaurant. I don't understand that what kind of power trip the person was on but it's not ok at all. Reached out to restaurant again with no response. Looks like we are not going again!

One of my go-to spots for Mediterranean food , been coming here now for years. Definitely try the food out , my favorite is the Beef Barg and don't forget the Persian tea. Service is top notch , been seeing the same people for years (that's a good thing in the hospitality business)

Unless this place has separate dishes they are NOT kosher. They serve meat dishes and have several items with yogurt and/or cheese.

Is this restaurant certified Halal? I am a practicing Muslim and there is no sign, although the worker claimed it was halal. Please notify me ASAP.

I've heard the same thing. I do know some Muslims who have eaten there (& only eat Halal) if that helps. A sign would be quite helpful. I agree, that without the sign, it is confusing. To be Halal certified does one need documentation (like Kosher… Read more

Most of us hadn't been to the establishment since it became Plori, and only knew it as the Italian place! The staff was so sweet and accommodating and brought us to our table immediately - a nice quiet corner. We decided to go for a full on tapas style meal by ordering all their apps and only a couple mains and desserts. The highlights for me were the octopus - cooked SO perfectly, it's a must try!!! The Plori crisps, reminiscent of the ones from Kyma - so so so good!! The sauce on the side balanced it out SO perfectly! Their breads and dips were top notch as well! But the star of the show was their signature dessert - a Greek napoleon of sorts which had raspberry and crunchy bits - absolutely insane and out of this world!!!! While they did forget a couple of our items, and we had to remind them, it was overall a great experience, the only real con for me was the cost - it was definitely on the pricier side and portions were smaller than what we were paying for! Regardless - I do recommend for a visit! Such a fab restaurant!

Great place for Passover dinner! They have a Passover 3…read morecourse prix-fixe menu for the first two nights. It includes a mini seder plate, matzah, chopped liver, gefilte fish. It was very busy the first night, including a large table of over 20 people in a semi-private room. Loved to see it! There are no haggadahs given here. I saw some groups bring their own and it was fun to overhear them going through the seder steps. (We did not bring a haggadah.) The matzah ball soup - the matzah ball was very good but the broth didn't have much flavor. Tasted the celery etc more than chicken broth. Everything else was very delicious! The beet salad is one of our favorite dishes. Our Passover menu mains: brisket, salmon salmon. (One person also had the ribeye that was on the regular menu and said it was amazing. ) We had one of each of the Passover desserts (flourless chocolate cake, warm apple cobbler) and they were SO GOOD that I wish I had more room to eat more of them! Cons: our waitress didn't know how to pronounce "seder" and pronounced it like "cedar". Bread was automatically put on our table instead of asking if we want matzah instead. One of the staff took our seder plate without confirming if we were done with it (we only wanted our appetizer plates replaced.) I told the waitress not to bother replacing it at this point (though I wish I asked for more haroset), but said to let the staff know for other guests benefit that it should probably stay on the table until the end.

Instead of listening to our concerns and comply about our concern they asked for evidence to be sent and became defensive. Our reason for calling was to make them aware, not to receive a refund nor get something in return we just simply wanted to make them aware.
