I ordered a 32 oz. and the server took the container for my soup and filled it with water and added it to the pot. I'm sick with the flu which has left me weak, which is why I went to get the soup. I should have just refused the soup but I can barely stand right now, so I was in a desperate situation. Anyway, when I got home, the soup was absolutely watered down. Haven't been here in years and decided to stop in. Bad choice. Although greeted when we walked in, we were completely ignored when attempting to order. Got a pide, salad and soda. Female employee assisted and male employee was working the oven. Had to beg to get my soda and refused to give me my receipt. Pretty much walked away and ignored me as soon as I paid. Came here on lunch because there aren't lots of places nearby and this was a close option. Glad I did because I felt like the luckiest girl in the world. I got a huge salad WITH chicken as my protein for $14.99. Not sure where else this is possible with these inflation prices! Not only was my salad packed it also was packing in the flavor department, the chickpeas were seasoned to perfection and I loved the addition of tahini to top off my salad. The Pomegranate vinaigrette was ok, it was the tahini sauce that really pushed the salad to next level good. One of my sides was the chick pea salad which was delicious. All sides are added on top of the base and protein. Sauces are delivered in small plastic cups on the side. I did like the salad and if I lived in Long Island I would order often from them. As those who have read my reviews in the past I am a Ethical Vegan who chosses to eat a Whole Food Plant Based Diet as much as I can when 'out & about'! What a pleasent surprise it was to come to Wild Fig & discover the items I 'assumed' were vegan by default were indeed so! Though it was obvious some on the 'serving' side of the counter were less than proficent in English there was one young lady paying very close attention to everything going on & jumped in if there was a question about anything! The idea here is to pick a type of meal [bowl, salad, pita, wrap] or even one of their small pizzas which they call by another name I have forgotten! The flat bread pizza's are all in view & you pick one that looks 'good'! Otherwise you proceed down the counter selecting a protein, scoops of various add ons and a sauce/topping/dressing! Amount is quite generous, you won't go away hungry, and while not 'fancy' it's all very clean & fresh! Since I'm a 'picky' eater to some extent & also vegan THIS was a delightful way to 'get what I wanted' as you could question the various ingredients as you went. If it was BUSY this could change, but an early dinner on a Friday was just the four of us as we stood on line and 2 other tables w'people who were in midst of eating! It's a casual restaurant and offers plenty of healthy options. Wild Fig offers customizable Mediterranean food. You can create your own sandwich, rice plate, or salad. Then you select one protein, four toppings, and two sauces. It's about $10 for a meal which is reasonable. Everything was pretty fresh and the food wasn't bad. I chose a brown rice bowl (turkish rice), with steak and onions. You get four toppings and a choice of sauce with your bowls. I chose babganousu, hummus, cucumber salad and red onions. The veggie pide was good, but we wished it was baked a bit longer, as it was soggy towards the middle rather than crispy. As for my bowl, I enjoyed the hummus, rice and salad but felt that the babaganoush and steak needed more seasoning. They do give you a good portion of meat. Like many people stated, this is really like a Mediterranean styled Chipotle. They give pretty generous servings of each of the portions as referenced in my picture. I was unable to finish the food I was given. The location has a parking lot which was great but it is in a pretty isolated area so you probably won't come here unless you live in the village. Price is decent (would say it ranges around the same as Chipotle) and all the food is pretty fresh. If you are eating in, it is clean but did feel a little bit cafeteria like to me interior wise. They do such a BAD job explaining how the order works, what is what for people who are not used to ordering this type of food. They are super rude mumbling to each other and not friendly, today they want to charge $2 for hummus after not explaining that salad is considered a topping? Wtf then why did the employee put the salad in herself without asking in the very beginning? I handed her my credit card for payment. She swiped it really hard and fast then said ,its not scanning". I said "it has the chip so please insert the card". She said "we dont take chip cards here".
