We were greeted by a very friendly staff who helped us decide what to or fare by describing the different food items to us. The panipuri was surprisingly delightful , and the generous vegetable samosas were so good ! The amritsari kulcha was my favorite thing of the night but the garlic naan was delicious too . The mango mojito was a good alternative to the mango lassi. If you're not in the mood for a yogurty drink. Their mango mojito was non alcoholic. Very light and refreshing. The server recommended the samosa chaat and sev dahi puri for appetizers. My friend and I loved the samosa chaat. The fresh veggies and pomegranates gave different textures and made the dish read less heavy. The sev dahi puri had so much yogurt that it was hard to taste the other ingredients. Goat biriyani came with plenty of meat and minimal amount of bones. Beautiful presentation as well. For the main dish, we got the chicken tikka masala and a side of garlic naan. I would've liked the chicken tikka masala to be more flavorful but it was still tasty. The chicken itself was super tender. Came here for takeout with my husband the other day from a recommendation from a friend. I have been looking for a good Indian spot for a while and so happy to have found it! We ordered online for pickup and it was ready a little after we arrived. Lots of parking in the rear of the building. My chicken tikka masala was delicious, plenty to share, and we ordered rice to share as well. My husband enjoyed his chicken vindaloo. Came here the other night with my brother. Restaurant was large with a lot of seating. Ordered the Karachi Chicken, the Lamb Keema Mutter, and the garlic Naan. Manager came out with a free appetizer which was some fried vegetables which were good with the 2 sauces provided. The chicken was so tender and just the right spices and great. Lamb was also a big hit. Food was exceptional. Staff was nice. Will definately come back to try other dishes. read more

So one of my favorite restaurants on long island is Kiran palace. That is usually my go to. But spice village may be my next go to spot. The food and service were incredible. We got a take out order so I can't speak of the ambience. We got chicken tikka masala (my go to) and goat meat. The only thing I wish, was that they'd make it spicier. But then again my spice tolerance is through the roof. But absolutely outstanding food and amazing service. Very friendly people. I cannot wait to try this again. read more

This place was one of the best I've tried on LI I loved the chili paneer and the chicken tikka masala was divine! Perfectly seasoned (I like it a little spicier and they did great). The place is a nice size and has a full bar. The food was amazing! I got the Curry Goat and garlic naan and roti with ghee. The breads were delicious and the Curry Goat was so flavorful and spicy. They ask you if you want little or medium or high spicy level. I did medium and it was Hot for me but still ate it all cause it was delicious. Also got a Indian beer and was good. Service was bad. We tried Spice Village for the first time and we really enjoyed it! We ordered a palak paneer, chicken tika masala, aloo gobi, butter naan and an aloo paratha. Truthfully, the aloo paratha was some of the best I've ever had. All the food had flavor, really authentic and delicious flavor. Medium spice is perfect for just that right amount of fire. We find it difficult to get good Indian food near us after a few places closed down. We've ordered from here twice and both times loved the food. We got the chili naan which was excellent. I should have been eating this for years, more flavorful than garlic. We also got the saag with chicken and tikki masala and order of samosas. The food was OK. Liked the lamb biryani presentation in a pot with dough on top. The chole bhature was good as well as pani puri. The pani puri was slightly different with regard to the imli pani and not the regular style pani that I am used to with coriander and mint. The lamb curry was infused with spices but not as tangy as I expected, however the lamb was well cooked and tender. The selection of cocktails were limited to only 5/6 with no margaritas other than imli margarita - not the usual kind. We had the infused jaljeera which was ok but could have been better as I couldn't feel the alcohol - more like a regular jaljeera drink. No one in this section knows how to prepare regular cocktails. The server was not very pleasant like the owner with courtesy & a smile. She served all dishes to my wife as if I was non existent sitting across the table. The strangest part was we were not given a bill by the server or even asked for tip. That's not how it usually works in other restaurants. She came with her machine to charge the card and left never to be seen until we left the restaurant. We never got to see the bill even when the restaurant was empty when we arrived around 5p and upon leaving we noticed around 2 tables with 6 people were left - meaning approx 10% occupied so not busy at all. Given the high reviews and proximity, we were excited to try the restaurant since we get Indian food almost weekend. Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience today. All the food had a weird taste. For example, the fryums tasted and looked like it was cooked in very old oil. The chicken kebab had the strangest aftertaste and seems like it got my husband sick. The 2 entrees arrived so spread apart in time that the first was fully eaten before the second arrived and we had to leave shortly after starting the second entree since the wait was a bit long by that point and we were with young kids. While the appetizer and coffee arrived fast, the sugar for the coffee arrived well after the coffee was getting cold. We were the only patrons at the restaurant for most of the meal so this service level was disappointing. After requesting the check I took out my credit card so I can give it right after reviewing the bill but instead of bringing the bill, the waitress just grabbed the card from the table and then came back with the payment portal showing the tip screen. When I asked to see the bill she said it will show after we paid which was odd and further had me want to review the bill since I've never had this happen before. The bill indeed had different prices than what was in the menu (each item was higher by weird amounts like .60-2 dollars) which didn't add up to too much at the end of the day (less than $5) but the way in which they hid this was definitely a shady part of the experience. Menu prices changing is totally fine if the restaurant was honest about it. P.S. The advertised buffet no longer takes place which is something we learned after we walked in despite seeing the buffet platters out. We still wanted to give the local new restaurant the business but can't anymore with the food quality and service level we received. Hope the restaurant improves as time goes on. read more
