The girls and I decided to check this place out since we had a craving for butter chicken & Indian food. Restaurant is nicely decorated, clean, had 2 swing seats that they were ecstatic about and the service was friendly & accommodating. We got the mango lassi, chicken samosa, butter chicken momos, chicken tikka, garlic naan, 2 butter chicken entrées & my daughter also wanted to try the chicken biryani, which is off the menu. The food was surprisingly good and flavorful especially the butter chicken momos- better than soup dumplings, and the butter chicken was tender, gravy was creamy & tasty- really delicious with the basmati rice & naan. The girls loved the mango lassi & crispy chicken samosa- they devoured all of it. The grilled chicken tikka was not bad but what we didn't enjoy was the chicken biryani- it smelled & tasted funky, very spicy and came with a yogurt sauce to balance the spice- not worth $24 imo. We couldn't finish everything & needed to take the leftovers to go- server Diya just handed me a bag and a few containers with "pack them yourself" instructions... Portions were relatively small & pretty pricey- worth trying tho. Fyi, if you pay with a credit card, there's a 2.5% surcharge. We'll probably be back again. read more

We had an incredible experience from the delicious food to the great service and decor. We are not very experienced with Indian food so we had some of the basics and everything was outstanding. Butter chicken momos - best thing on the menu, def worth trying Mango and Rose lassi - pretty large serving size and decent lassi Aloo tikki chaat - it was good but nothing special, def kept us full Lamb samosa - it was exactly what it was, a little dry but also understandable because it was lamb Peri peri paneer (not pictured) - did not enjoy at all; first look at it was really underwhelming but for people who generally eat pretty spicy food, this was not an enjoyable spicy Overall: cute decor. The food was ok, pretty average compared to other options nearby. Nothing really stood out expect maybe the butter chicken momos. I just finished lunch at Varli and wanted to review it while my tongue is still tingly from the fantastic flavors. I had two appetizers that were delicious but the beet root tikki chaat was outstanding. I love beets but have never had any like these. On top of this incredible balance of flavors they sprinkle pomegranate seeds that put it over the top. The owner and staff were so lovely and inviting. Took my mom here for a light lunch, and while the food left much to be desired, the decor truly stole the show. The ambiance is absolutely stunning--vintage Indian elements that beautifully evoke the charm of 1980s India (at least, what I remember of it). It's clear a lot of thought went into curating the space, and honestly, the decor alone makes the visit feel special. The service was friendly, and the drinks were surprisingly good. I had a Rose Lassi garnished with dried rose petals--floral, creamy, and lovely. My mom ordered the Aam Pani, which she really enjoyed. I had a sip and found it incredibly refreshing. We weren't very hungry, so we kept it light and ordered a few small plates: pani puri, Chicken 65, and pav bhaji. Unfortunately, the food was a letdown. The pani puri came with good flavored waters, but the puris themselves were disappointingly stale, thick, and tiny. The pav from the pav bhaji was soft and buttery, but the bhaji itself lacked depth. The Chicken 65 was the biggest miss--overly sweet, with what tasted like old, dry chicken. Considering the prices, the portion sizes, and the lackluster flavors, it's clear that the emphasis here is more on aesthetics (and perhaps drinks) than on delivering quality food. It's a real shame, because the space is so charming--it has the potential to be truly special if the kitchen matched the decor's caliber. read more

Adorable little spot with tasty Indian treats! The decor alone is 5 stars. My daughter loved the Vespa, auto and little swing seat! The food was delicious- we ordered an array of street food treats. Loved the pav bhaji, pani puri, paapdi chaat. We also got hakaa noodles and masala fries which were awesome. Mango lassi was gulped down by my daughter. Stopped in Sunday afternoon and placed a takeout order. Cute spot, the mural on the wall was beautiful. My favorites were the lamb samosas comes with tamarind chutney and mint chutney and butter chicken momos. The kids devoured the amul cheese dosa, which comes with a small container or sambar and coconut chutney. The chicken 65 tasted more like chili chicken, I'm not sure if I ordered wrong or that's what it's like. The ones I'm used to are usually less sweet and drier. It doesn't seem like good bang for your buck and far from street food prices. read more

I really wanted to like this restaurant because it offered some Indian options I had never tried, but was sadly disappointed! We had never had Maggi noodles and when asked what they were we were told they were special Indian noodles with seasoning and vegetables. When we got them I said they tasted like Cup a Soup Ramen. I googled when I got home and sure enough they are instant noodles made by Nestle that can be bought at Walmart for a dollar or so. I feel totally ripped off paying $10.99 for this dish. Why is this even on their menu???? I thought this restaurant served authentic food!! Other dishes were mediocre at best. Ordered the spinach with mustard green dish and there was no flavor of the greens at all...just mushy spinach. Only thing we enjoyed was the beetroot chaat. read more

Please don't sell frozen naan warmed up for $4. I can't believe I paid $50 for frozen food that I could have easily bought from any grocery store. I go to restaurants to avoid eating frozen food that I can heat up at home. The ambiance was good, with paintings giving it a hippie vibe. The food here was the best Indian that we ever had! We got lamb samosas, lamb biryani, and lamb curry as well as naan. Everything was delicious! I requested tamarind sauce for the samosas which was great. There was also a delicious yogurt sauce to cool things down and a green sauce that tasted like fresh mint and cilantro. Second time at this restaurant. The first time about a month ago went in a Sunday, service was good and so was the food. This time on a Saturday evening , three of us went. I didn't even get my food after waiting one and a half hours. Very slow and forgetful service, we asked for water three times before getting it. We were seated at 6:45. Restaurant is very small and not that busy. We ordered our food almost immediately after arriving. Got our appetizer at 7:20. Two of the main dishes came out around 7:50. Patiently waited and kept asking about my food order while the other two people in our party ate so their food wouldn't get cold. Was told numerous times that it's coming. Finally left hungry and very annoyed at 8:15 without getting my order. No apology from management. One young girl and one gentleman working. If anyone in management was present, they were hiding out in the kitchen. The problem may be that they have take out orders and they care more about pushing those out instead of the patrons sitting in the restaurant. They should be a takeout restaurant. read more
