    Beef roast
    Julian p.

Whoever is cooking currently sadly doesn't care. Not once but twice beef roast full of past 3 months. I don't even know how this occurs. Was it microwaved? I couldn't even open the container as there was so much oil sitting at the top recently. Used to be excellent. First time noticed the change in September with a noticeable amount of seperated oil that normally isn't there sitting and thought it was a bad day. Second time recently was unacceptable. Someone just doesn't care. I brought it back and was asked what's wrong. I said look at the oil on top. They offered to remake it once I asked for a refund but I declined. They completed the refund and I explained I'm dissapointed. I asked if this was reheated and told if was made fresh. It was picked up on time. You can see over time how it used to look from my photos. I hope they fix this. A little oil is no problem but it shouldn't be sitting on top.

I brought my parents here to try Indian food for the first time, and I was nervous for two reasons…read more- (1) my parents are conservative eaters and I was afraid they wouldn't like it, and (2) I myself had never eaten at this restaurant before. Either way, I was nervous they wouldn't have a good meal. But I held my breath and hoped that the reviews I'd read beforehand were accurate. For the most part, they were. The garlic naan was incredible. My parents went silent when they first tried it, then quietly maneuvered the basket toward themselves while leaving rice for the rest of us. The chana masala and chicken tikka masala were also spot on - rich, saucy, and flavorful. Our salmon tandoori announced its own arrival to our table as big chunks of delicate meat on a sizzling platter. The larger pieces weren't completely cooked through, but we just let them sit on the hot flatware for a minute or two more. Spice babies, beware. We requested 'mild' as the spice level for all our orders because medications have changed my mom's sensitivity to spice. Even then, the heat crept invisibly onto her palate. "I don't know where it's coming from," she said, fanning her mouth. Even as a spice lover, I could detect there a thrum of baseline spice in most of our meals. You might want to temper the spice the way we did - by ordering a mango lassi. I've yet to meet a mango lassi I didn't like, Punjab's included. Here, they include a drizzle of something jammy along the sides of the glass. I didn't think it necessary (the lassi by itself is already fantastic!), but great for those who like their drinks sweet and photogenic. Inside, the restaurant space feels like what I'd call 'upscale casual'. It's nice - in fact, it's a lot nicer than a lot of Indian restaurants I've been in. But it's not the kind of 'nice' that makes you feel like you can't grab a meal here in your sweatpants. There's no dedicated parking lot, but there are a good number of spots along the nearby side streets (just pay attention to street signs that designate no parking days and times).

I see where others have written that even the mild can be too spicy, but we didn't at all find that to be the case. We got garlic naan for the table (great!) and also cheese naan (I didn't like that as much, but my sister loved it). I got the lamb tikka masala and have only good things to say about it. I don't remember ever having lamb so tender. Oh and we got the mango lassi with raspberry sauce, which was unusual and tasty. We'll definitely be back to try more dishes.

Both times we walked in without a reservation and got seated easily. There's also a nice bar area that adds to the charm. We ordered Tandoori Paneer Tikka and Papdi Chaat to start -- both were flavorful and delicious. For the main course, we had Garlic Naan (soft and garlicky) with Baingan Bharta, which had that perfect smoky, roasted taste. Ended our meal with Gulab Jamun, soft and sweet just right. They also have a banquet hall for small events -- I once saw an Indian celebration happening there, which was a nice touch. Overall, amazing food, great service, and lovely ambiance -- a place worth revisiting!

Service was great and the food was delicious! Portions are a bit on the small side, but still filling. Okra fries were so yummy and different as an appetizer. We also had the classic chicken tikka masala (well seasoned and not too heavy), chicken malai kebab (super soft and tender!) and baigan bharta (delish!). The cherry on top was they made a small turkey and sides for anyone in the restaurant to share so we still got to have some yummy Thanksgiving food on the side of our meal (and I got my stuffing fix which was the only thing I was missing that day!).

We…read moreorder the small manto dumplings, a mixed flat samosa appetizer, and four kebab entrees to share. The dumpling dough were similar in flavor and texture to pelmeni but were flatter like ravioli. They were smothered in sauce. Samosas were thin and crispy. I preferred the manto, but both are good picks depending on what you're looking for. For kebabs, I tried the lamb, ground beef, and chicken. One of the mixed plates also came with a lamb shank. All of the meat was well seasoned and flavorful. Most pieces were juicy. I wouldn't have categorized any bites as dry, but some bites were juicier than others. The entrees were platted over basmati rice with carrots and raisins. They came with a white sauce, a green sauce, and a red sauce. Green and red sauce were mildly spicy. Also some simple salad with the entrees. They have a lot of seating indoors and seemed to be hosting a small party when I arrived for pick up.

"Are those flies or raisins?", is something I kept asking myself while eating here…read more.. The whole experience eating at this restaurant was just, odd. On yelp, there were no inside pictures, so I wasn't entirely prepared. I see lots of take out, and indeed it looks like there is plenty of it as there is a take out counter and a few people were walking in/out during our meal. The entire rest of the place looked like a small wedding and party venue. I wouldn't call it sparkling clean, however. Many things were crossed out on the menu with a sharpie "X". Quail, Chicken Biryani, just to name a few. No matter, we were quite happy with two different kebabs and the distinct afgani rice. The food was overall good, I found the lamb a little sweet, but it wasn't fatty. The chicken was certainly the better meat. The fresh sauces provided on the side were tasty and helpful after the generous portion of rice started getting repetitive. I also enjoyed the full pot of black tea with cardamom. One person working alone filling orders and waiting our table meant it was one of the longest meals I've hard in a while. He was kind, and was indeed working hard.... but that didn't make up for the flies. Dear lord, the flies. The bug zapper was a constant interruption in the background of our conversation. Dead flies were scattered on the windowsill and a half alive fly squirmed by my foot. While eating, I examined every raisin as carefully as a gemologist inspects a diamond.. because you never know. My overall rating would have probably been higher if I didn't eat in. Your mileage may vary.
