We wanted to try this place after reading the reviews on it - I must say on the whole it didn't disappoint. We started with the pani puri which was okay. We also tried the Maggie which was surprisingly good. The tandoori chicken came next - that was very good. We had the chicken vindaloo which was also very good. Service was quick and efficient. The restaurant is pretty small with about 5 or 6 tables.

A new Indian restaurant In Levittown NY named Currywala Cuisine opened a few days ago.Today's visit I met with staff and owners. I was informed that it is not a franchise but the first with its name. With the help of the cook , I ordered an appetizer of 3 that were mixed with potato and peas. 2 separate dips one a green yogurt mix and the other more like a red spicy sauce. Inside were gifts of fresh flowers in a red vase and a few plants. There were a few customers in the store when I got there. The restaurant is in a Lot of stores. . Parking was hard at lunch time but cars moved in and out of spots quicly so it wasn't a long wait to park the car.

Cozy atmosphere, great service, large portions - a solid meal. Maybe not absolute the best I've ever had but I would definitely go back!

Diwan Indian Restaurant & Bar - Spicy goat and rice and chicken. All delicious!!

I even noticed that Gordon Ramsay follows the restaurant, so I was curious to see what the experience would be like. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The decorations and interior give it a really nice atmosphere, with dim lighting that makes the dining experience feel a little more upscale without being overly pretentious. But what really stood out to me was the food. Everything was seasoned exceptionally well, and you could really taste the spices. The creamy dishes had that rich, smooth consistency you'd expect, and everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. It was one of the more enjoyable Indian dining experiences I've had. We started with the assorted vegetable sampler, which came with samosas, aloo tikki and some really nice crispy pakoras. Having the different chutneys on the side was also a nice touch. For the main course, I had the chicken biryani, which came with raita and naan. The rice was nicely seasoned, the chicken was flavorful, and the raita was a good complement to the spices. The naan was also pretty good. Everything came together really nicely. The service was another highlight. The chef actually came out to greet us, and he was incredibly nice. I went with a friend, and we both had a wonderful experience. Everyone was welcoming, and you could tell they genuinely cared about the dining experience. What surprised me even more was how affordable the bill was considering the quality of the food and the overall atmosphere. I was also told they offer a buffet on Sundays, which gives me another reason to come back. If you live in New York, I genuinely think Diwan is worth the trip out to Long Island. This is one of those restaurants I'd happily make the drive to visit again. I absolutely loved this place, and it's definitely becoming one of my favorite Indian restaurants!

My only complaint? My stomach has a limit…read more My family and I have been coming to Diwan for years, and this is hands down our go-to spot for Indian all-you-can-eat. I used to frequent the Indian buffets in Jackson Heights, and honestly, Diwan is just as good, if not better! One thing I really appreciate is that they have their own parking lot, the dining room is spacious, and as a parent, I was thrilled to see they have baby high chairs. Those little details make a big difference. We stopped by for their weekday AYCE special at just $15 per adult, which is an incredible value! My plate always ends up looking the same because I can't resist the chicken biryani, palak paneer, and that rich, creamy butter chicken. Oh, and they mostly use chicken thighs! So tender and moist! I keep telling myself I'll try something different... then I walk back with the exact same favorites. No regrets. We also ordered the mango lassi, and it was fantastic! Just a little tip: it comes with ice by default, so if you prefer it without ice, just let them know when ordering. The food quality has been consistently excellent every time we've visited, and the service has always been warm and attentive. Another thing I enjoy is how peaceful the dining room is. It's not loud or chaotic. Everyone seems completely focused on the important business of enjoying their food. A couple of helpful tips: the buffet is dine-in only, so you can't pack up buffet food to take home. If you're ordering takeout, you'll need to order from the regular menu instead. They also offer children's pricing for the buffet, so if you're unsure about the details, just give them a quick call. If you're craving great Indian food without emptying your wallet, Diwan continues to be one of my favorite AYCE spots. Highly recommended!

I would want to…read morerecommend this spot to my friends, however putting my peasant friends on to a fabulous establishment such as Jazeera would only sully my experience. I had garlic naan, samosas, butter chicken and tiki Marsala. Everything was 10/10 not to mention the service as well. Everything was clean and the restaurant is quite relaxing. I would've took pictures, but I don't want to spoil the excitement.

It's also great that they offer zabiha halal options, which makes it more accessible and comfortable to order from. The food itself is where they shine. The biryani is especially good--aromatic, fresh, and well-layered in flavor. The haleem is rich, hearty, and very satisfying, and dishes like the keema luqmi also feel freshly made and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell there's real effort behind the savory items. That said, the menu feels a bit unfocused now. With the addition of things like Chinese dishes and smoothies, it starts to feel a little scattered instead of staying true to its Hyderabadi identity, which is a bit confusing as a customer. The decor is very modern and clean, but it doesn't really reflect the cultural richness of the cuisine--something more traditional like places such as Sunshine Restaurant would've suited it better. On the downside, the desserts were also not a hit for me--they leaned too sweet and didn't feel as balanced as the savory dishes.

I came here last week for an event, and got to enjoy basically a tasting menu of sorts…read more This menu took Indian flavors on a seriously fun ride. From rich and smoky to spicy, tangy, creamy, and refreshing. Banjara Tikka brought tender chicken thighs layered with yogurt, fried onion and garlic. Mauryaji Basket Chaat delivered chickpeas, potato, tamarind, mint, pomegranate and a creamy yogurt mousse. The Chicken Seekh Kebab was perfectly seasoned and savory with pickled laccha onion, while the Guntur Chilli Chicken Bao turned up the heat with Guntur red chili, sesame and refreshing beetroot shikanji shots. The vegetarian dishes absolutely held their own as well. Chilli Momo with carrot, sesame and seaweed, came out with a soft, delicate bite and a subtle chew, filled with a lightly spiced vegetable mix that leaned savory and aromatic rather than overpowering heat. The Paneer Makhni was rich, velvety, and deeply comforting. The paneer stayed soft and pillowy, soaking up a buttery tomato-cashew gravy that was slightly sweet, gently tangy, and finished with that unmistakable fenugreek aroma that tied everything together. The mains were just as unforgettable. Laal Maas came in bold and unapologetic. Tender goat slow-cooked until it practically melted off the bone, swimming in a deep, smoky gravy built on mathania chilies that brought slow heat. The Shrimp Malai Curry was the complete opposite in tone. Silky coconut milk wrapped around plump tiger shrimp, with Bengali whole spices adding a gentle sweetness and aromatic depth that made the dish feel light yet indulgent at the same time. And somehow dessert still had room to impress. Rose Kulfi was creamy, floral and sweet without being overwhelming. Drinks included everything from the floral, mezcal-and-rooza Gulabo to Mango Lassi. And as someone who historically doesn't like anything rose flavored, I enjoyed both the drink AND the dessert. Just as good as the food, was the service. It is definitely a spot that should not be missed.
