Garlic Naan, Malai Kofta, Mango Lassi

Amazing food- stopped in very late (past 11pm) and was treated with extreme hospitality. The food was INSANE, extremely fresh. The mango lassi was seriously some of the best food I've ever had. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was nice inside with music videos playing and a family friendly vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly reccomend.

Welcome to the neighborhood! The flavor is real, whew! I got the CHICKEN TIKKA KATHI ROLL for under $10. The size is perfect, the spice (but not overwhelming) is there, and the flavor was addictive. The MANGO LASSI gives a perfect sweet refreshing hit afterwards (it is a must try). The only negative I have is that the parking is a major issue, there's only parking on the main road(if lucky) or by the train station (which can land you a ticket). I recommend bringing a driver to drive around the block and placing an order before you arrive to grab and go. Or order delivery, or walk down the block if you find a spot. The food is worth it!

First, good first impression. The place is clean. I really appreciate it when a business takes the time and effort to make sure they are clean and neat. I ordered the chicken Marsala kebab. What an incredibly tender chicken dish. Spiced the way I like. They made it fresh and adjusted the spice level to my tolerance. Not spice as in a burn...but rather a delightful pick-me up. Now that's talent. I strongly recommend you try this place!!!

Food is all made in house even the paneer. Excellent food. Gobhi manchurian is outstanding and Kathi rolls are the best in the area.

There are so many Indian and Asian restaurants in Hicksville that places become complacent and make mediocre food. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE PLACES. I was so happy with the food, each dish was made to order and delicious. An explosion of flavor and spices. Each dish was so different and so good that is was a culinary whirlwind. The young man taking the orders and delivering the food was extremely nice and helpful. The restaurant is small but cozy. Please try this place. You will not be disappointed.

New Indian place by the Hicksville LIRR! I ordered the Mango Lassi and Chicken tikka kebab. The Mango Lassi had a lot of mango flavor and was very creamy. The Chicken tikka kebab was better than expected and I liked how it came with a few onions and peppers. The spice level was Medium Hot but the white sauce helps if you're not a spice person. Chutney was good as well but I much prefer the white sauce! I would come back and try their rolls the next time I'm looking for a quick snack by the train station. They accept cash and credit but there is a 3.5% surcharge for credit.

This place just opened up in Hicksville and it is AMAZING! No joke, the chicken tikka Kati roll is absolutely the best Kati roll in Long Island. The chicken is flavorful, made fresh and just the right amount of spice for an Indian. If you can't handle spicy food, then you will find the chicken tikka roll spicy. We also had the chicken momos. Man, the chicken filling was extremely tasty and flavorful. The dipping sauce that they provided with it was excellent and also spicy for those that like that spicy kick. I drenched my momos in them and loved the taste. The service was great too, the owner was very nice and helpful! Definitely a must try as they just opened. Run don't walk here, it is definitely worth it!

It was great food, amazing service. They went out of their way to make recommendations and make sure we liked it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Felt like back home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Sweet people and the food is so so good. Everyone should try this place

Large portions that are reasonably priced. Not fancy but probably one of the better values in the area.

My only complaint? My stomach has a limit…read more My family and I have been coming to Diwan for years, and this is hands down our go-to spot for Indian all-you-can-eat. I used to frequent the Indian buffets in Jackson Heights, and honestly, Diwan is just as good, if not better! One thing I really appreciate is that they have their own parking lot, the dining room is spacious, and as a parent, I was thrilled to see they have baby high chairs. Those little details make a big difference. We stopped by for their weekday AYCE special at just $15 per adult, which is an incredible value! My plate always ends up looking the same because I can't resist the chicken biryani, palak paneer, and that rich, creamy butter chicken. Oh, and they mostly use chicken thighs! So tender and moist! I keep telling myself I'll try something different... then I walk back with the exact same favorites. No regrets. We also ordered the mango lassi, and it was fantastic! Just a little tip: it comes with ice by default, so if you prefer it without ice, just let them know when ordering. The food quality has been consistently excellent every time we've visited, and the service has always been warm and attentive. Another thing I enjoy is how peaceful the dining room is. It's not loud or chaotic. Everyone seems completely focused on the important business of enjoying their food. A couple of helpful tips: the buffet is dine-in only, so you can't pack up buffet food to take home. If you're ordering takeout, you'll need to order from the regular menu instead. They also offer children's pricing for the buffet, so if you're unsure about the details, just give them a quick call. If you're craving great Indian food without emptying your wallet, Diwan continues to be one of my favorite AYCE spots. Highly recommended!

Fresh puri and plenty of sauces, fresh rice and a very nice spread of Indian favorites. I really enjoyed everything they had to offer and especially the vegetarian options such as dhal and paneer. Great service and the only caveat is that any naan is purchased separately as it's not included in the ayce price. You can also just order fresh plates of any combination off their à la carte menu. We opted for the lunch buffet and were very satisfied and both price point and quality were excellent. The restaurant itself is nice with great ambiance and plenty of seating. There's also plenty of beverage options. We've been back twice already and anticipate many more visits.

It's also great that they offer zabiha halal options, which makes it more accessible and comfortable to order from. The food itself is where they shine. The biryani is especially good--aromatic, fresh, and well-layered in flavor. The haleem is rich, hearty, and very satisfying, and dishes like the keema luqmi also feel freshly made and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell there's real effort behind the savory items. That said, the menu feels a bit unfocused now. With the addition of things like Chinese dishes and smoothies, it starts to feel a little scattered instead of staying true to its Hyderabadi identity, which is a bit confusing as a customer. The decor is very modern and clean, but it doesn't really reflect the cultural richness of the cuisine--something more traditional like places such as Sunshine Restaurant would've suited it better. On the downside, the desserts were also not a hit for me--they leaned too sweet and didn't feel as balanced as the savory dishes.

I came here last week for an event, and got to enjoy basically a tasting menu of sorts…read more This menu took Indian flavors on a seriously fun ride. From rich and smoky to spicy, tangy, creamy, and refreshing. Banjara Tikka brought tender chicken thighs layered with yogurt, fried onion and garlic. Mauryaji Basket Chaat delivered chickpeas, potato, tamarind, mint, pomegranate and a creamy yogurt mousse. The Chicken Seekh Kebab was perfectly seasoned and savory with pickled laccha onion, while the Guntur Chilli Chicken Bao turned up the heat with Guntur red chili, sesame and refreshing beetroot shikanji shots. The vegetarian dishes absolutely held their own as well. Chilli Momo with carrot, sesame and seaweed, came out with a soft, delicate bite and a subtle chew, filled with a lightly spiced vegetable mix that leaned savory and aromatic rather than overpowering heat. The Paneer Makhni was rich, velvety, and deeply comforting. The paneer stayed soft and pillowy, soaking up a buttery tomato-cashew gravy that was slightly sweet, gently tangy, and finished with that unmistakable fenugreek aroma that tied everything together. The mains were just as unforgettable. Laal Maas came in bold and unapologetic. Tender goat slow-cooked until it practically melted off the bone, swimming in a deep, smoky gravy built on mathania chilies that brought slow heat. The Shrimp Malai Curry was the complete opposite in tone. Silky coconut milk wrapped around plump tiger shrimp, with Bengali whole spices adding a gentle sweetness and aromatic depth that made the dish feel light yet indulgent at the same time. And somehow dessert still had room to impress. Rose Kulfi was creamy, floral and sweet without being overwhelming. Drinks included everything from the floral, mezcal-and-rooza Gulabo to Mango Lassi. And as someone who historically doesn't like anything rose flavored, I enjoyed both the drink AND the dessert. Just as good as the food, was the service. It is definitely a spot that should not be missed.
