Bread literally breaking off and crumbs as I try to get one solid piece to eat with the Bhaji - disappointing

Just came back from packing up Pav bhaji - while the Bhaji was good in taste, the bread was so dry that it was literally crumbling as I broke it apart. $14 and dry bread isn't acceptable. If it's old and stale, get rid of it, don't serve it, especially to a takeout order where they discovered only when they've gone home and ready to eat. S o disappointed

I had a wonderful vegetarian meal here while visiting Hicksville. The food was delicious and full of flavor. The staff were very nice and attentive. There is an abundance of seating and there were lots of people enjoying a great meal.

Mithas is a well known place for Indian food. I have tried many of their dishes. My most favorite is their Hakka noodles. Recently I tried out their Special thali and it was huge, with so many sabzis, and puris. Would definitely recommend this place

The restaurant looks pretty straightforward, but the flavors it offers will give you some severe addiction. The place is full of people for whom this food is native, and that was a great sign. We ordered a couple of dishes, they all came with rice, and i got naan bread as i am obsessed with it. Everything i tried was giving my taste buds a happy dance. I also took some sweets to go.

I always stop by Mithaas when I visit the area. Mithaas has the best chaat dishes. They are prepared fresh and have a tasteful balance of sweet, spice, and crunch. The service is very fast and I usually receive my order less than 5 minutes after placing it. The chaat pairs well with the mango laasi. The interior has beautiful decor and many tables. I definitely recommend visiting Mithaas.

I love their food!!! I'm just a white Guri but I absolutely LOVE this place for lunch. I have no idea what's going to be in the Thali, but every dish has its own flavors and the right amount of salt. The rice was perfect , the Naan was fresh, and buttery. We first started out only with Paneer/chicken Masala, but all of their other dishes were so amazing we also love the Thali and the Gobi Manchurian! I really like how well priced the dishes are along with quickness of the service. Hans is great (the owner) always so polite and comes over to check on the guests. He truly cares about his guests. I'm glad I found this place. For fine-dining We go to Lotus, but for a quick lunch/dinner we opt for Mithaas! On a separate note: I have a problem with people saying " DONT Go here, after they have a bad experience at any restaurant. Unless you were cursed out, spit at, and abused- if you really care about people, you'd give your feedback to management, not turn your back and complain after. There is Nothing they can do about your concerns. This is someone's livelihood and their way of taking care of their employees and family. Have a heart!

Great selection of food that made me come here to taste more things over and over again every time I drive by Hicksville. Everyone is friendly and the food was pretty authentic. Theres plenty of parking around the area. The price did seem on the higher end but the taste and the flavor of everything was impeccable. Would recommend to anyone who wants the authentic Indian food experience.

My friend has ordered from here many times. She grew up in India, and she says their food is the best. She convinced me to try the aloo papri chaat. I've never heard of this food before. There is potatoes, cooked chickpeas, roasted chickpeas, crispy noodles, onions, crispy puffed things, mung beans, cilantro, and spices. I could even finish it. I was so full after eating half of it. I think it's meant to be shared as a snack with others. She didn't even tell me what the food consisted of, so I had no expectations. The only thing she asked is if I liked things spicy, sour, and sweet at the same time. I said yes. We ordered through Uber Eats. The dish is good. But lots of fried things, so made my tongue numb after eating too much. She told me to mix the yogurt sauce, tamarind sauce, and green chutney sauce together with the food. It was really really good, but I think next time I will share it with other people. It's definitely alot for 1 person. And I feel like it's more of an appetizer or snack? Anyways, I've had their Hakka noodles from there too, as my friend bought from there and let me try. It was really good! I will definitely order more from them.

Hate to admit it, but Indian food is never my answer when I'm asked 'what do you want for dinner?' So when my restaurant club chose an Indian vegetarian restaurant, this avid meat eater was skeptical. Mithaas is self described Indian street food. They have a few locations in NY and NJ. Inside is almost cafeteria like decor, and they have a counter where you can order food to go as well. Everything was a taste experience for me, but some of my favorites were the spicy okra dish, the mango lassi (omg yum), and there was a lentil stew I really enjoyed. The staff was amazing and so nice, they worked really hard to make the part of 60 people flow seamlessly, and the owner was so gracious as well. Definitely will come back to try some of my faves again!

My only complaint? My stomach has a limit…read more My family and I have been coming to Diwan for years, and this is hands down our go-to spot for Indian all-you-can-eat. I used to frequent the Indian buffets in Jackson Heights, and honestly, Diwan is just as good, if not better! One thing I really appreciate is that they have their own parking lot, the dining room is spacious, and as a parent, I was thrilled to see they have baby high chairs. Those little details make a big difference. We stopped by for their weekday AYCE special at just $15 per adult, which is an incredible value! My plate always ends up looking the same because I can't resist the chicken biryani, palak paneer, and that rich, creamy butter chicken. Oh, and they mostly use chicken thighs! So tender and moist! I keep telling myself I'll try something different... then I walk back with the exact same favorites. No regrets. We also ordered the mango lassi, and it was fantastic! Just a little tip: it comes with ice by default, so if you prefer it without ice, just let them know when ordering. The food quality has been consistently excellent every time we've visited, and the service has always been warm and attentive. Another thing I enjoy is how peaceful the dining room is. It's not loud or chaotic. Everyone seems completely focused on the important business of enjoying their food. A couple of helpful tips: the buffet is dine-in only, so you can't pack up buffet food to take home. If you're ordering takeout, you'll need to order from the regular menu instead. They also offer children's pricing for the buffet, so if you're unsure about the details, just give them a quick call. If you're craving great Indian food without emptying your wallet, Diwan continues to be one of my favorite AYCE spots. Highly recommended!

Fresh puri and plenty of sauces, fresh rice and a very nice spread of Indian favorites. I really enjoyed everything they had to offer and especially the vegetarian options such as dhal and paneer. Great service and the only caveat is that any naan is purchased separately as it's not included in the ayce price. You can also just order fresh plates of any combination off their à la carte menu. We opted for the lunch buffet and were very satisfied and both price point and quality were excellent. The restaurant itself is nice with great ambiance and plenty of seating. There's also plenty of beverage options. We've been back twice already and anticipate many more visits.

It's also great that they offer zabiha halal options, which makes it more accessible and comfortable to order from. The food itself is where they shine. The biryani is especially good--aromatic, fresh, and well-layered in flavor. The haleem is rich, hearty, and very satisfying, and dishes like the keema luqmi also feel freshly made and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell there's real effort behind the savory items. That said, the menu feels a bit unfocused now. With the addition of things like Chinese dishes and smoothies, it starts to feel a little scattered instead of staying true to its Hyderabadi identity, which is a bit confusing as a customer. The decor is very modern and clean, but it doesn't really reflect the cultural richness of the cuisine--something more traditional like places such as Sunshine Restaurant would've suited it better. On the downside, the desserts were also not a hit for me--they leaned too sweet and didn't feel as balanced as the savory dishes.

I came here last week for an event, and got to enjoy basically a tasting menu of sorts…read more This menu took Indian flavors on a seriously fun ride. From rich and smoky to spicy, tangy, creamy, and refreshing. Banjara Tikka brought tender chicken thighs layered with yogurt, fried onion and garlic. Mauryaji Basket Chaat delivered chickpeas, potato, tamarind, mint, pomegranate and a creamy yogurt mousse. The Chicken Seekh Kebab was perfectly seasoned and savory with pickled laccha onion, while the Guntur Chilli Chicken Bao turned up the heat with Guntur red chili, sesame and refreshing beetroot shikanji shots. The vegetarian dishes absolutely held their own as well. Chilli Momo with carrot, sesame and seaweed, came out with a soft, delicate bite and a subtle chew, filled with a lightly spiced vegetable mix that leaned savory and aromatic rather than overpowering heat. The Paneer Makhni was rich, velvety, and deeply comforting. The paneer stayed soft and pillowy, soaking up a buttery tomato-cashew gravy that was slightly sweet, gently tangy, and finished with that unmistakable fenugreek aroma that tied everything together. The mains were just as unforgettable. Laal Maas came in bold and unapologetic. Tender goat slow-cooked until it practically melted off the bone, swimming in a deep, smoky gravy built on mathania chilies that brought slow heat. The Shrimp Malai Curry was the complete opposite in tone. Silky coconut milk wrapped around plump tiger shrimp, with Bengali whole spices adding a gentle sweetness and aromatic depth that made the dish feel light yet indulgent at the same time. And somehow dessert still had room to impress. Rose Kulfi was creamy, floral and sweet without being overwhelming. Drinks included everything from the floral, mezcal-and-rooza Gulabo to Mango Lassi. And as someone who historically doesn't like anything rose flavored, I enjoyed both the drink AND the dessert. Just as good as the food, was the service. It is definitely a spot that should not be missed.

The space is modern and beautifully decorated, but still has that cozy, comfortable feeling that makes you want to settle in, order way too much food, and stay awhile. The staff was also wonderful. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and, most importantly to me, genuinely knowledgeable about the menu. I always appreciate when the people working at a restaurant can actually talk to you about the dishes, ingredients, flavors, and what makes something special. It makes the whole experience feel much more personal. But the FOOD is absolutely the star here. Everything we tried was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and just so satisfying. My favorite dish was hands down the chili chicken momos. They had exactly the right amount of heat--spicy enough to give you that little kick, but not so much that it overpowered everything else going on in the dish. The momos themselves were delicious, and the combination of spice, savory flavor, and texture made them something I could honestly order over and over again. I also love that Banjara has some more unique cocktails rather than just the standard drinks you see everywhere. They fit the modern feel of the restaurant really well and make it a fun place to come for dinner, drinks, or both. As someone who genuinely LOVES Indian food and is always excited to explore different dishes and regional flavors, I really enjoyed my experience here. Banjara manages to feel modern without losing the soul and flavor that makes Indian food so special. Great atmosphere, genuinely kind and knowledgeable people, creative drinks, and food that makes you start thinking about what you're ordering next before you've even finished what's in front of you.
