In the frame: Hyderabadi Biryani, Chicken 65, Curry Bowl & Mango Mooze I had them from Galli Food and they all tasted yum!! The portion and price of each meal was responsable. Galli Food is a South Indian Halal Food Truck. There is an interesting thing about this truck. It's one side is painted with Charminar & other side has a picture of Vijayawa, Hyderabad. I loved the street food vibe from this truck. If you really miss eating street food, then you gotta visit this place. Galli Food is located at 400 S Broadway, Hicksville, New York, 11801

My only complaint? My stomach has a limit…read more My family and I have been coming to Diwan for years, and this is hands down our go-to spot for Indian all-you-can-eat. I used to frequent the Indian buffets in Jackson Heights, and honestly, Diwan is just as good, if not better! One thing I really appreciate is that they have their own parking lot, the dining room is spacious, and as a parent, I was thrilled to see they have baby high chairs. Those little details make a big difference. We stopped by for their weekday AYCE special at just $15 per adult, which is an incredible value! My plate always ends up looking the same because I can't resist the chicken biryani, palak paneer, and that rich, creamy butter chicken. Oh, and they mostly use chicken thighs! So tender and moist! I keep telling myself I'll try something different... then I walk back with the exact same favorites. No regrets. We also ordered the mango lassi, and it was fantastic! Just a little tip: it comes with ice by default, so if you prefer it without ice, just let them know when ordering. The food quality has been consistently excellent every time we've visited, and the service has always been warm and attentive. Another thing I enjoy is how peaceful the dining room is. It's not loud or chaotic. Everyone seems completely focused on the important business of enjoying their food. A couple of helpful tips: the buffet is dine-in only, so you can't pack up buffet food to take home. If you're ordering takeout, you'll need to order from the regular menu instead. They also offer children's pricing for the buffet, so if you're unsure about the details, just give them a quick call. If you're craving great Indian food without emptying your wallet, Diwan continues to be one of my favorite AYCE spots. Highly recommended!

Fresh puri and plenty of sauces, fresh rice and a very nice spread of Indian favorites. I really enjoyed everything they had to offer and especially the vegetarian options such as dhal and paneer. Great service and the only caveat is that any naan is purchased separately as it's not included in the ayce price. You can also just order fresh plates of any combination off their à la carte menu. We opted for the lunch buffet and were very satisfied and both price point and quality were excellent. The restaurant itself is nice with great ambiance and plenty of seating. There's also plenty of beverage options. We've been back twice already and anticipate many more visits.

I came here last week for an event, and got to enjoy basically a tasting menu of sorts…read more This menu took Indian flavors on a seriously fun ride. From rich and smoky to spicy, tangy, creamy, and refreshing. Banjara Tikka brought tender chicken thighs layered with yogurt, fried onion and garlic. Mauryaji Basket Chaat delivered chickpeas, potato, tamarind, mint, pomegranate and a creamy yogurt mousse. The Chicken Seekh Kebab was perfectly seasoned and savory with pickled laccha onion, while the Guntur Chilli Chicken Bao turned up the heat with Guntur red chili, sesame and refreshing beetroot shikanji shots. The vegetarian dishes absolutely held their own as well. Chilli Momo with carrot, sesame and seaweed, came out with a soft, delicate bite and a subtle chew, filled with a lightly spiced vegetable mix that leaned savory and aromatic rather than overpowering heat. The Paneer Makhni was rich, velvety, and deeply comforting. The paneer stayed soft and pillowy, soaking up a buttery tomato-cashew gravy that was slightly sweet, gently tangy, and finished with that unmistakable fenugreek aroma that tied everything together. The mains were just as unforgettable. Laal Maas came in bold and unapologetic. Tender goat slow-cooked until it practically melted off the bone, swimming in a deep, smoky gravy built on mathania chilies that brought slow heat. The Shrimp Malai Curry was the complete opposite in tone. Silky coconut milk wrapped around plump tiger shrimp, with Bengali whole spices adding a gentle sweetness and aromatic depth that made the dish feel light yet indulgent at the same time. And somehow dessert still had room to impress. Rose Kulfi was creamy, floral and sweet without being overwhelming. Drinks included everything from the floral, mezcal-and-rooza Gulabo to Mango Lassi. And as someone who historically doesn't like anything rose flavored, I enjoyed both the drink AND the dessert. Just as good as the food, was the service. It is definitely a spot that should not be missed.

"This is authentic" - my Indian boyfriend LOL…read more But in all honesty, the food was really good at this place! We went because we got a recommendation from one of our friends, and it was a successful dinner. The appetizer dishes were VERY spicy for someone who's not good at handling spices like me. My favorite dishes were Palak Paneer (my all time fav) + Onion Dosa. It was my first time having dosa, and it was amazing! Inside the store was very spacious, and felt way less Americanized (or very little) compared to other places, which I enjoyed. If you're able to, I would visit with someone who knows about the food, so you know what to get!

We've…read moretried other spots in Hicksville, but we love that this spot is consistently yummy and that they have both dosas and curry dishes on their menu. Our go-to for Indian food! Their Rava Dosa is usually crispy and packed with flavor. The gunpowder one is yummy! The Khadai Paneer Masala is also usually super yummy, and we love the tomato creamy base that is paired with the paneer--a different alternative when we aren't craving Palak Paneer. Of course, have to wash it down with a Mango Lassi. Of note, sometimes the service is a little spotty and it can be a bit difficult to flag a waiter down/have the food come to the table within a reasonable time during some visits, but during other visits, everything will be spot on. Regardless, great for a casual date night or for groups! What we typically order: - Khadai Paneer Masala or Palak Paneer - One of the Rava Dosas (can't go wrong with any) - Samosas - Mango Lassi
