Wow! This place checks all the boxes for the best Indian restaurant in town! Atithi is a family-owned, pure vegetarian spot offering delicious dishes with a creative twist. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and willing to offer recommendations when needed. The best part is that the menu has very detailed descriptions of each item so even if you're not super familiar with this cuisine, you'll know how to order. My husband and I started with samosas which were the best I've ever had! If you're a fan, please go and try this and let me know if I'm being hyperbolic, but they were insanely good! I had the Aloo Gobi Masala which was out of this world. The flavors were well balanced and tasty. My husband had the veg biryani. The portions were plenty and the ingredients super fresh! This is a genuine experience for Northern Indian cuisine. Different from your typical fare. I went for lunch, very quiet, nice but modest interior. Very pleasant. Friendly server, efficient and kind. I started with a Masala Soda (delicious and served in a fun glass) paired with the Manchow soup. Excellent! Next was a Pindi Choley Masala with Butter Roti and rice. Delicious and filling. I couldn't finish it. They charge a slight premium for cc payment so bring cash and save. read more

This place is an absolute gem of an Indian vegetarian restaurant nestled in a small strip mall. It's a little outside of the main Hicksville Indian area but well worth the detour. It's also made up of people from the old Mithaas prior to Covid - they know their food! The food itself is really amazing & this place has become our new go to place for Indian snacks. It is a rare sight to see new Indian restaurants that serve only vegetarian food. We were excited to try Atithi. Of course, we had our doubts and tried only their special thali. The thali came with 3 curries, 1 aloo gobi, a cup of jeera rice, papas, choice of roti, naan or puri, salad and a gulab jamoon. It is good enough for 1 person. We were pleased with the taste of all the items. The staff was very kind, had a smiling face and very friendly. The place is quite small and it will be difficult for large groups. Randomly looking for a pure veg restaurant and this one came up. We were a large group and it was worth the 30 minute wait for a table. Food was delicious and you can taste the freshness. My wife and I try to stay away from meat, and have found ourselves increasingly enjoying Indian food. So we checked out Atithi. Simply put, we loved it. Everyone who works there is welcoming and amicable. The inside is a little small, but very nicely decorated and inviting. We started with samosas, and they were delicious. Just spicy enough, flavorful, and the dipping sauces were great too. I ordered a vegetable biryani dish for my dinner, and it was similarly delicious. Even the presentation was great. And I was stunned at how filling it was. The spice level was perfect, it was filled with flavor, and I was completely full. The food was delicious, nicely spiced. The atmosphere is a fine but it could be a little more warmly lit. The bathroom was very clean and accessible. The prices were very fair. We had one of two Thali dishes on the menu with Puri (Gluten), along with dal fry, a palak paneer, mango lassi, and a Masala chai. Everything came out hot (or cold for the lassi) with rice included.
