ABY - always be Yelping. I know better than to eat somewhere without looking at reviews first but we were shopping nearby and needed a bite before heading back to work so we went in blind. Only after the bad service was in full swing did I check in on Yelp to see the mistake we had made. We were there for lunch and all I can say is that everything was off about this place. An average pub to grab some food. Christopher's is a typical pub & grill with decent bar food. I arrived while the place was transitioning between lunch and dinner so the kitchen was closed for a half hour. Although this was a minor inconvenience time wise, we waited as the area as busy. We started by ordering some beers - there was no beer list given to us upon asking which was odd. We were told off hand only about four choices from the waitress. Started with some nachos. Very tasty but a very small amount of meat were on them. I ordered a cheese burger - again average tasting. The crowd was very rowdy there for it being before 5pm and staff didn't seem to notice many tables of families were bothered by it. The place needs a total facelift - the bathroom was very dirty and shockingly so due to covid. There was a lot of crowding at the bar top as well. Luckily we got out before the dinner rush. I would have not been comfortable staying. It won't be my first place to visit while returning to the area. read more

Went here Sunday night with my husband for dinner and drinks. It was like walking into a super spreader event. No proper mask wearing. Staff, patrons, anyone. This place is 100% what you would expect. Neither great nor terrible, Christopher's is a diveish bar with average bar food at an average price, with an average atmosphere, and average to somewhat slow service. A word to the wise: The buffalo wing sauce is wayyy hotter than you'd expect. My friend and I got "medium" on our buffalo chicken wraps and it was so spicy that the inside of my cheeks tickled. We are Huntington locals who were meeting another couple from out of town on a recent Saturday night, so we chose Christopher's because it was close to the tree (one star). The dinner was ok-service was decent, and the food was pretty good pub style food (half star) The dry rub wings were spectacular (half star)! We had a good time, so just the two of us decided to go back the following night to watch the Giants on Sunday Night Football and have some of those wings and a couple drinks. We managed to find a seat at the end of the bar away from the VERY rowdy crowd (can't blame the bar for this I suppose). The bartender who was pre-occupied with the crew at the end of the bar finally came down to take our drink order, and pass us a menu...things are going not great, but we were patient. Minutes kept ticking by without her coming back down to check on us (she was not at all busy), or putting the game on all the TV's (however she did put it on for her "favorites"at the end). It's not like this was an obscure game...prime time NFL in market game. It looked like other employees were noticing our frustration, but they just ignored us anyway. We left money on the bar and walked out to another bar in town that had great service, and the Giants on all TVs...much better (more to follow in a very different review). It's really a shame when you feel that you're inconveniencing restaurant staff by wanting to have a nice night out and support local. I truly feel for restaurants that are struggling during this time, but there was 0 effort put forth by Christophers. Sad. Truly sad. My wife and I lasted five minutes. We walked in to a crowd of seven, with a bar tender and a server, who was sitting at the bar and unfazed by our presence. It was as if they didn't expect anyone else. The place smelled of college- stale beer on the floor and dated, worn-down decor. The menu was burgers, wraps and bar fare. When the server asked if we want a drink, I said, "what are your IPAs?" She had to ask the bar tender. My next question was, "what Long Ireland beer is on tap?" The response was, "It's Long Ireland." I said, "Which one? They make a lot of beers." The response, "I don't know. Taste it." I did. Lousy. Not fresh, the lines we're dirty and imparting some other flavor, and it was not properly chilled. SKIP. So many bars in Huntington, do not come here. My friend and I came here on a Friday night and it was decently filled (but mainly men). By the looks of it we thought it would be cheap. Well a vodka soda and a Guinness came to $19, what?? The bartender told me she just tapped the Guinness and asked if I wanted to wait, sure why not. Only took a couple of minutes if that. Brought back my beer to a high top, and took a sip. It was awful, the worst Guinness I've ever had :(. Flat and tasted like mold. The after taste was unbearable. I took it back. I will have to say another bartender took back my beer and poured me another no problem and didn't charge me (I still tipped). I went for the Brooklyn lager thinking maybe the Guinness was just off. A bar that consistently has a crowd bc of its location. Put this place anywhere else and it would have been closed, possibly condemned, in '86. I am not saying avoid this place at all costs, bc it does have its moments. When they bust open the front doors in the spring/summer it is an OK place to stop for a brew and maybe a happy hour fried food fest (50% off drinks n apps) but otherwise don't bother. The place looks like a log cabin that someone rented out to a friendly bunch of teens for their after prom party. Guess what? Now it permanently stinks of beer soaked wood, there are cigarette butts everywhere (on the patio) and the floor is wet. If you come here on a holiday evening don't be surprised when a fight breaks out (every. single. time.). Lots pf people are complaining about the service. Personally, I happen to like the sass from the bartenders and wait staff. It feels more legit than the fake "Hi I hope you are having an amazing day today!!!!!" but if you don't see it coming or expect above average service you are in for some trouble. read more

While enjoying a lovely midday walk in Huntington, I decided to look for a place with an outside seating I could enjoy the day as well as my dog and enjoy the view. I've been living in town for quite a few years and it was time to try something new. I walk by Christopher's and the menu looked good. So I took a seat outside and the waitress came over right away. The waitress looked like she is 15 years old, wearing a super short dress that looked more like an over-sized t-shirt and flip-flops. As I was having a coffee in hand, the waitress was nice enough to let me finish it before ordering a drink. I got a glass a water while I looked at the menu. I went right away for the burgers and notice the "ostrich" burger. I never had one before and, as adventurous as I am, I decided to try it. According to the menu, ostrich meat has 50% less fat than beef and 30% less fat than chicken... sold! The super young waitress took my order and I sat back to enjoy the day. Meanwhile, I drank all of my water and waited for my food. I was the first person in (around 11:45am) and the food took about 30 minutes to arrive. When the food came, presentation was good. I took a bite of the burger and, surprisingly, it was quite delicious. The portion of the meat was big and thick. The bread was fresh and the fries crispy, thick and a good portion. Now, the problem is the water... the young waitress did not even noticed that my glass was almost empty when she brought me the food. Then, when she came to check if everything was ok, I asked for more water. The water never came... argh! I just finished my food and I have nothing to get my food down... help! I asked for the bill and off I went home to get a glass of water... The price was pretty reasonable as the burger was only $14.00. Other items in the menu range from $8 to about $20+ with food ranging from enchiladas to burgers and lots of bar, fried food. Nightlife review only. One of the more well-known places in Huntington Village, Christopher's is a unique place to say the least. Dive-y as dive-y can get. It's convenient in location so that's why many people flock here to pre-game before hitting up the real bars. It was my friend's birthday and she really enjoys this place so, off to Christopher's it is. No cover for ladies, however there was one for guys. The inside is so outdated and in much need of a face lift. Drew couldn't be more right. If I had to summarize this place it would be: beer soaked wood and overpriced weak drinks. We hungout for a bit, had some laughs... made some fun conversations and that's pretty much about it. The only reason for my extra star is for two things that night: [1] There's an outside bar/semi-dance floor in the back. We popped in to see what has happening, and there was a group having a dance-off. Some guy was vogue-ing. Serious skill. [2] We met some random group of people and sang (or shall I say belted) out a beautiful rendition of "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" and "Bohemian Rhapsody". So yeah, there's that. read more

We hadn't been here before but looks like they have made some changes since other Yelpers have reviewed it. Since it has just gotten "Meh" reviews, we have walked past it a million times. Decided to try it tonight and can't believe what we've been missing! My best advice-if you've had a bad experience here, give it another try! You won't be disappointed! Here's the scoop: Cute outdoor seating is great place to people watch while you eat, but we ended up at the bar tonight. Our bartender, Rachel was just awesome-knew the menu and gave worthwhile recommendations, was very attentive. Food took long enough for us to know they were really, actually making it-not just heating it up-definitely worth the wait-gave us time to visit and get a sense of the crowd (really nice crowd, by the way). Veggie spring rolls were half price, since we stumbled in on a happy hour that we didn't even know they had! Bonus! My salad was fantastic and really fresh-perfectly ripe avocado, excellent mixed greens with nothing slimy (!) that you might get in other pubs in town who seem to only add salads to the menu as an afterthought for the guilty meat-eaters, with no regard for people who actually LIKE salad ;). They also had freshly scraped corn off the cob sprinkled on the salad , which is in season right now, so I really enjoyed that. Also they had no problems leaving the dressings, bbq sauce, etc. off to the side! Chef even came out and asked how we liked everything-nice! Lastly, I liked that the bartender didn't hesitate to (very politely) ask for id's when two guys who looked like they could be just under 21 came in & asked for drinks . As far as Christopher's goes, I myself have had several mixed outings here and unfortunately the space as soon as about 8-9 pm hits turns into a very young and sometimes annoying bar scene. As well while on that topic, few times I did meet some friends at the bar here while they were drinking and I was eating, we were typically ignored by the bartender as she spent 90% of her time chatting with her friends on the opposite side of the bar. Also she was texting away, and hardly checked on us my friend on several occasions had to signal her for another drink, as well just for my diet coke was an issue. Although as for their food that I had mainly been there for was pretty decent for the most part, their steak sandwich on toasted garlic bread was actually one of the best in town if not the best. Their burgers as well are very juicy, plump and well cooked as specified. Most of their food on the menu is your classic pub fair with some standouts as well. Now if the place could just figure itself out and focus on one or the other it would probably be a much better choice. read more

We had a very nice experience here recently. The drink prices were fair and highly satisfying bar food - the dry-seasoned wings were amazing. Our waitress Heather(?) was pleasant and the chef even came out to apologize for a little mix-up on the wings, wasn't even necessary but it was thoughtful. We'll be certain to return. read more

They were playing Nickelback when I walked in but they were the only place to get food past midnight on a Saturday. No real craftbeer selection which is a negative to me. I did opt for a Blue Point summer ale which was my best choice. I ended up splitting some wings with my friend. They only offered buffalo & BBQ flavors but they were decent. I've had much better wings but at midnight after a concert & long day of traveling they were what I needed so I ate my fair share. I would only go back again if I had no other food options late night. The crowd was a bit obnoxious to me but I'm pushing 40.
