Nice casual Irish pub. Bartenders and very nice. Went there during the weekend on an afternoon, just to stop in.

Menu says it's served on a "large English muffin." This was no English muffin. Try white bread. If these were the "famous jumbo wings," i'd love to see the "not so famous tiny wings." These were not jumbo, but the average size most chicken wings are. The final insult was the miniature container of blue cheese dressing which maybe two wings could be dunked in. Of course, you could buy more. But it was pretty lousy tasting. They claim it's homemade. They sorely need a new recipe.

Shanahan's is along a stretch of wooded area and gives off an upstate bar vibe when you pull up. There is a large outdoor patio with ample seating and the inside bar area is smaller. It's a bit confusing with the ordering process. We went inside and the bartender ignored us for a while before we got her attention, and she told us food had to be ordered at the bar. So we go to sit down and a waitress then tells us no we order with her. We got 20 wings, half medium/half Carolina gold. The wings are spectacular, crispy and meaty at the same time. The fries were double starched- not my fave but my fam loved them, and the onion rings were also good. Overall we enjoyed the wings and will def come back to try other flavors!

If you are a truffle lover, be sure to upgrade your fries to the truffle fries. The fries were truly the best truffle fries I've yet to try! This includes the olive oil cake, bbq pulled pork nachos, crispy Brussel sprouts, smash burger (although not consistent in size), and chicken picante. The restaurant is relatively new (just reached third year anniversary), so perhaps the kitchen needed more time to prepare dishes more consistently. For the most part the food now matches the social media hype. TIP: Others have recently noted slow service, incorrect orders. I have been visiting at the start of dinner service, and have not encountered this, so some of these issues may potentially be avoided by arriving before inexperienced service staff are overwhelmed. Most people will be seated on second floor which requires walking up a staircase. If special accommodation is needed I suggest informing restaurant in advance. There is some seating downstairs, but depending of time and day this area (bar) can get uncomfortably loud.

Better late than never with this backdated review--life has just been lifing!…read moreI finally made it to Artemis on July 22nd after fiending to go since January. There's actually a hilarious story behind why I went. I was originally supposed to have a date that night, but let's be real: you'd think a 61-year-old man would know better than to take a 47-year-old woman to Dave & Buster's. I canceled the night before, dolled myself up the day of, and decided to take myself out instead. Best decision ever. The joint is dimly lit. But your eyes wind up adjusting. It's got a great vibe. Definitely excellent for a date night. The bartenders here are absolute rockstars. I started with a Painkiller. Even though it's no longer on the menu, they whipped it up for me anyway--and hey, it definitely relieved my pain, lol! Next, I tried a Corpse Reviver just because it had absinthe in it. It was different, but I really enjoyed it. Naturally, I had to finish with my signature drink, a Cosmopolitan, because I am the Black Carrie Bradshaw of Long Island. And it did not disappoint. The eats: I got the charcuterie board--fancy and bougie, just like me--and wrapped up the night with the brownie à la mode for dessert. Drowning my troubles in sweets is a must when the Long Island dating pool is an absolute wasteland, lmao. Did I want to spend my night around teenagers, kids, and skee-ball? HELL NO! I wanted a grown-and-sexy speakeasy vibe, and Artemis delivered. 5/5 stars--would 100% recommend!

Unfortunately, the overall experience was mixed. The two-hour table limit felt unnecessarily restrictive, especially for a group of eight. We were split into two separate areas of the restaurant, and there didn't seem to be much willingness to accommodate us so we could sit together. The person checking us in was not particularly welcoming, which didn't make the best first impression. What really left a bad taste, though, was the manager's explanation that the two-hour limit is necessary because "turning tables" is how the restaurant makes money. While I understand the business reasoning, hearing it explained that way made the experience feel more transactional than hospitable. The biggest issue is that the time limit actually worked against the restaurant. Rather than staying for another drink and continuing our evening there, we ended up going somewhere else. For me, that defeats the purpose of creating a nice atmosphere if guests are being encouraged to leave before they're ready. Beautiful restaurant, good service from our waitress, but the rigid seating policy and the way it was handled would make me think twice about returning.
