A must try!!!! This is the perfect casual restaurant you can go to on a whim but still have great food and drinks! I went for my first time recently and will be going back for sure!! Upon returning to Buckram stables after being away for a couple of years I was glad the interior was as nice as always, the service excellent and the atmosphere friendly as always. The food on the other hand was not up to expectations, I ordered a rare cheeseburger that came out medium well,the onion rings were uneatable and dripping in grease,my wife's french fries were undercooked.all in all very dissappointed; someone needs to pay attention to the food coming out of the kitchen.. read more

Last Sunday we went to the Buckram for Lunch/Brunch.The place has very nice interior.The food was very good too, I had a TurkeyClub and my brother Brunch with eggs etc. Our Server was helpful.They have a full bar that it separate from to restaurant.Also, they have a back area for outdoor seating and parties.There is also ample parking right next door.Also, the tab is not outrageous! First the food. So consistent. Brunch on weekends, lunch or dinner. One can always get a good meal and the menu has specials to make it appealing and new. I typically get an app and salad when trying to be healthy, but when I want a good burger nothing beats the buckram stabilizer on an English muffin. Nothing. What has happened to this place? The food used be so good! Ordered calamari that came out overcooked and dripping in grease! They evidently don't change the oil too often! I ate a few, but honestly this dish was inedible! I told the waitress and asked if she could take it off the bill. She asked the manager, and he said because I ate a few they would have to charge me for half the order! I literally ate 4 pieces! Needless to say, I will not be returning to this restaurant until they get their act together! First time here. I went with my girlfriends for lunch and loved it. The waitress was lovely good service. I had the stabilizer burger with the side salad. It was huge and well cooked great choice. Three of us had Sunday dinner here as we had been in the area. Happily, there was space in the back patio and we were given a table quickly. We had the gazpacho with avocado that was quite good (thick and flavorful). We had two Cobb salads and one Greek salad with salmon. The salads were also tasty and tasted refreshing on a warm day. I have been here many, many times, but recently came in for lunch with my office coworkers. James, our waiter, was friendly, super helpful and answered all of our questions about the menu. Ordered takeout from here because I heard their burgers were good, and the rumors were true! I got their cheeseburger and it was absolutely delicious, well-salted, juicy, just perfection. I like this place, my wife thinks it's wonderful. With that said I'll concentrate on their short comings. * The place is small, not tiny, but on the small size. On the weekends it is not very likely that you will be able to get a table without a reservation. * Even with a reservation, there might be a wait. * Because the place is small (some would call it "cozy") & usually packed, it can get a bit noisy, which hampers pleasant conversation, not to mention, hostile bickering. & angry discourse. * Because the establishment is usually very busy, it might take a while to get your food (which will most likely be excellent). * Some of the difficulty might be caused by their prices which are slightly exorbitant, unlike the price in other local emporiums which tend to be extortionate, or on occasion, pleonectic in the extreme. * Note that there is a convenient parking lot nearby, on all of my visits, parking was easy & free. It's within walking distance of the Locust Valley LIRR station. * I don't know if anyone will care, but they serve a super nifty veggie burger! read more

One of our friends lives in the area and suggested this place cause they are always here. We were guests for a wedding nearby we came here for brunch on a Sunday. Well what is complete disaster the lady who plays boss is going to make everybody quit they all hate her for her nasty attitude and her constant nitpicking of what looked like every employee all young guys and gals probably working for college and even the older cooks . She had a nasty attitude and just made the whole place rave with negative energy (even her own employees were coming by saying she is a real B_____ micromanaging everything . So we ordered one shrimp and goat cheese salad and this big plate comes over with a tiny small little cup dressing , fine so i asked for some more dressing as it wasn't enough and this Diane lady says no I have to charge you ???$1.50 for dressing? it wasn't even enough for half the plate ?? Then our daughter has eggs benedict which is supposed to have Hollandaise sauce with it well no Diane wants to charge us for that too. So after seeing the treatment towards her employees and all her other unprofessional shenanigans we said we will never come back here cause she obviously has a bad attitude not geared towards the customer but towards just money $$$ and didnt value the customer to treat them with respect or her employees. We've been here several times over the years and we have always had a great meal. Service is always on point and the people there are genuinely happy to see you when you come through the door. On our most recent visit, we came for brunch and sat at the bar as we didn't have reservations and it was pretty well full in the restaurant. Our server/bartender both took care of us and also made a pretty darn-good Bloody Mary with the extra heat I requested. Plates came and went and glasses we filled when needed. This level of service is what we always experience here- that and with a smile. Prices are affordable and are commensurate with the food you receive. Plenty to love on the menu and if you're lucky, you'll come for the weekend brunch. I'm a sucker for the eggs Benedict and any omelet will do as well. But we haven't had a bad meal from burgers to breakfast whenever we have come. read more

They have a "brunch special" where you get your meal with a lovely(!) soda bread, and a drink for a very reasonable price. The portions are really generous for most meals, except the French Toast which seams too small to me from what I've seen around... The service is great, the whole crew is nice and attentive. When it gets very busy, you may need to wait for the food a bit though... I love the horse themed decor! The place is really family friendly during lunch, and clearly very popular with the locals!!
