EMPIRE (diner) STRIKES BACK At least for me, I mean between the movie and this restaurant; I was full like a wookie. I would highly recommend the Spinach Fedda Cheese Omelette with home fries, delicious. Omelette looked like a painting (photo enclosed). Seating tables arrangements and booths comfortable. *Men's Bathroom, clean with one urinal and one tolid. Ample size parking lot. Steps from the HICKSVILLE LIRR STATION and NICE BUS N80. I actually had a nice delicious experience. Come hungry and tell them the Guru sent you The Review Guru* Long Island NY

Had breakfast here this morning, as I have written in some previous reviews this diner is hanging by a thread. I give them credit, that are truly trying very hard to survive. I had a simple breakfast 2 over with bacon and FF, it was good..it all came as ordered, except the toast bread was stale and I had apple juice instead of coffee. We were seated in the rear and it was very warm seems like ac was not working properly. All of the servers are awesome, and have been working here for a long time. Just as a heads up, prices here have gone up significantly. They have some serious competition, the place could use some remodeling, don't see that happening. Anyway good luck empire...

    They liked it.

Service was great! Typical diner setup. Funny how all diners I've experienced have similar interior concepts. Nothing eye catching here. My Corned Beef Hash was not appealing at all. Couldn't pinpoint what it was lacking. Left the majority of my order on my plate. As the area has a plethora of choices. We vowed to try some place else. All three stars go to service, accommodation and attentiveness.

Grey Goose Bloody Mary .. delicious

Very lovely little diner, service was quick and staff was friendly, I had a sausage egg and cheese sandwich, it was the best I've ever had. Food was on point, it came out within 15 or so minutes. I almost didn't want to leave because it was such a great experience all around, would recommend!!

A really intimate place, with probably like 15 tables max inside, and a little bar that can sit also about the same amount of people, but still looks new and fresh, and also be on the lookout because when you're driving the place sneaks up on you. The friendliest service, Lauren who seated us and served us was truly genuine, and I told her I really appreciate that as most restaurants don't have that sense of personal customer service, actually noticeable and appreciated. The food was also really good, the dip was flavorful, could be a little warmer but still very good, the chips were next level, and this was a huge hit. The calamari was lightly breaded, and also I do appreciate the two sauces to choose from when dipping, either Kung Pao or Marinara. I got the Pastrami Rub Tuna over Scallion Mash, and when I first looked at it I thought the fish piece was a bit small, but after eating it, it was the perfect size, and the mash was delicious, and the Wasabi Sauce to dip the fish really made the dish Pop. Drinks were okay, started with a kick and boozy but finished a bit watery for my first one, the second one I had with Mescal was a 10/10 though. This place needs attention, and the fact that it is still pretty low key and food influencers haven't descended to blow up it's spot is awesome.

Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and very helpful in guiding us through the menu. We started with the margarita pizza and the baked oysters special--both were fantastic. For our entrées, we ordered the surf and turf sushi roll special and the roasted chicken, and again, everything exceeded expectations. To finish, we had the brownie dessert with homemade gelato along with martinis, which was the perfect ending to the meal. We would highly recommend The Union and will definitely be back!

Other reviews are correct - they don't have pacing down. They want to turn the table over and you really feel it. If you don't want to feel rushed book a weekend table at 8pm or after, otherwise you bet your bootie they have that table committed right behind you. Appetizers arrive before drinks, entrees arrive before you've finished your appetizer. Not a very luxurious feel to the experience. Last visit the biggest flaw was that I ordered a filet, which they serve with a peppercorn sauce and some onion rings. The sauce and rings were good. What was completely inexcusable was that they attempted to substitute the filet with a Picanha steak, which is a cheaper and tougher cut. Absolute BS. If you order the Picanha (cheaper) it's prepared differently, which means they clearly substituted the beef in my dish because it was made with the filet's sauce and onion rings accompaniment. Just note, since it's become quite popular it can get loud in here during dinner. Not a negative per se if you like an energetic dining room, but it's no longer a place to grab an intimate date night meal anymore.
