Attended a group dinner here and definitely did my background check beforehand to make sure I ordered something I'd truly enjoy. The French dip seemed to be the most popular item, but with a larger group, I wasn't confident it would arrive at its peak, so I decided to go a different route. I ended up ordering the blackened scallops with vegetables, and wow this dish was excellent. The Cajun seasoning was bold and flavorful, while the scallops themselves were buttery, delicate, and expertly cooked. My only small critique is that the foot (that small side muscle on sea scallops) wasn't removed. It didn't detract much from the dish, but it's always a nice touch when that's done for you. My partner ordered a salad topped with Cajun salmon, and it was phenomenal. The true standout was the salmon, cooked to a perfect medium: juicy, flavorful, and served in a generous portion. Major kudos to the kitchen for executing both dishes so well. Several others in our group ordered the French dip, and seeing those plates only confirmed that I was happy I trusted my instincts. Maybe I'll try it during a quieter lunch service someday, but it's going to be hard to pass up the scallops and salmon.

This is just another wonderful restaurant that Long Island has to offer. My wife and I had the opportunity to come here for a Kiwanis function. It was an easy drive from Mineola and we were able to secure close street parking. This is a really nice-comfortable restaurant and we were greeted with a big hello and smiles as soon as we entered. We had a private party in the back room, and we were escorted there right away. It was nice that we knew one of the servers and ran into him as we went to the back room The room was set up perfectly and we were escorted directly to our table. The night was going to be a buffet and I was wondering how long until we made our way to the food. To my surprise they had plenty of people serving food and it went very quickly for the whole room. They had a fabulous selection of salad, beef, chicken francaise and baked salmon. (Would you expect anything else?) All entrees were plentiful and tasty-fresh.) Throughout the entire dinner the staff was very attentive to the tables and any special needs. My wife and I will definitely come back here when we can order off he menu and enjoy a dinner for just the two of us in there regular dining room.

This neighborhood pub has been around for quite some time, feeding locals. The chef is very talented and the staff is very friendly. It's a comfortable restaurant and we always feel welcome when we dine. This particular night we started with Clams Casino and they were fresh and prepared perfectly. On a previous visit we started with the Thai Calamari and that was equally enjoyable. Jumping right into the main course I had Chicken Valdostano which was prepared as well as any Italian restaurant I'd been to and ordered the same. We also ordered one of the daily specials featuring Grilled Sea Scallops and that just might become one of my favorites. I'm not going to attempt to review something I didn't experience but I will tell you that one of the diners at a table adjacent to us ordered and, obviously, enjoyed an outstanding looking Seafood Fra Diavlo. Perhaps next time for me! Street parking. Full bar with a knowledgeable and friendly bartender. Definitely check out the daily specials.

Really delicious brunch and good service. Not mind blowing but a nice place in town. Complimentary soda bread and coffee cake (I think it was it wasn't like the coffee cake I'm used to), soda bread was good, but I personally don't think this bread is for everyone. The coffee cake had a harder crust and wasn't sweet at all not sure if this was something different. I got the croissant sandwich with onion rings. The steak inside the sandwich was cooked to my liking and was shaved nice and thin so it wasn't chewy at all. I was impressed by this especially for brunch. The onion rings were cooked perfectly and were great. But the quality was off because another person in my party had onion rings and they were completely misshaped and didn't even look like onion rings. Apparently the burrito was good. Thought the prices were a bit expensive especially because all of the menu items were the same price. Also I don't recall seeing a drink menu that wasn't alcoholic. Service was good and would overall recommend.

Great food. Great specials. Great service. Bit of a hidden jem. Some of the best pub grub on Long Island.

It was our anniversary and we were delighted with 2 glasses of champagne . My advice , get the steak , it was out of this world ! I had a few glasses of Cabernet and my wife had the Moscow mule. Dessert was nothing short of amazing as well , I had the cheesecake and my wife had the apple cookie. The wait staff was always checking to see how we were doing and Don would come around to see how anniversary dinner came out . Great restaurant for any occasion but try to make reservation ahead of time as it's a very popular place to eat near water. Thanks for a great night Haviland !

The owner and his wife are usually there working and they're both so warm and welcoming. They always take the time to stop by each table to say hello and make sure everyone's happy, which really adds a personal touch you don't find often anymore. The food is consistently amazing, one of my absolute favorites is the fried burrata with honey drizzle (trust me, it's a must-try!). The cheeseburger, pasta dishes, and chicken are all incredible -- everything I've had has been a solid 10/10. You can really tell they put care into every detail, from presentation to flavor. Whether you're coming for a date night, dinner with friends, or just a nice meal out, Haviland Kitchen & Bar never disappoints. It's one of those local gems you'll keep coming back to. Thank you for the outstanding service, each and every time.

I never saw a red Manhattan before, but there is was. Could not tell what bourbon it was as the red mixture was masking what kind bourbon. (It almost tasted like some kind of mix rather than a hand made drink.) Again, the food was good, ambiance as comfortable, the band was excellent, but that is as positive as I can be. When we first walked up there were 2 young ladies at the door who I assumed were hostesses but could not be more disinterested. I said we were meeting friends for dinner and they unhelpfully advised to "go in side and look for them." As our friends said they had booked a table one would have thought that the hostess could have checked to see if they arrived and if so at which table they were sitting. No such luck. Out waitress must have been from the same hospitality school as the hostesses. Totally bland as borderline unfriendly, in that there was zero interaction or anything resembling any sort of welcome or personally. Never even gave us her name. Again this was our first time there so we' were unfamiliar with the operation. There were a few servers but they seemed to come and go which made up suspect they were serving tables elsewhere on the premises. This was confirmed when we tried to find her for the bill, that we asked, again, for separate ones, which came, as expected, as one bill. So to find her for the bill, find her to correct it and get it back was close to 30 minutes.0 Equally annoying as the face that there was one, single seat bathroom in the bar. There may have been other facilities, but true form, there was no help from any of the staff. BOTTOM LINE: the food isn good, reasonably priced and good portions. The bar portion was very nice and inviting except for just one single use bathroom. The service and friendliness of the waitress and hostesses left much to be desired. Parking was off street as they don't have sufficient parking (we parked some 2 blocks away..) If you live within walking distance, wish to sit at the bar and listen to good music (at least last night) I would recommend Dox.. As we live close to an hour away, I can not make a recommendation to travel to have good food and entertainment at the expense of substandard service, questionable drinks and scant sanitary facilities. Sorry, it would not take much to get a higher rating but prolly not enough for us to make a return visit.
