They luckily had the latter, even if they didn't have plain ones, so we got him ketchup-flavored chips that of course he proceeded to barely eat (they were actually good). He did like the French fries/British chips, and my wife liked her breakfast sandwich even if it was a bit heavy for her. My fish and chips were really freaking good. Sizable piece of fish (haddock), nice and crisp, with a ton of chips and lots of sauces (spicy mustard, vinegar, etc). Maybe not my favorite fish and chips ever, but it hit the spot. Would come back here in a heartbeat, especially where I could relax and drink a bit more. Completely understand why they are recognized as a top bar in the US.

There were a few servers but they seemed to come and go which made up suspect they were serving tables elsewhere on the premises. This was confirmed when we tried to find her for the bill, that we asked, again, for separate ones, which came, as expected, as one bill. So to find her for the bill, find her to correct it and get it back was close to 30 minutes.0 Equally annoying as the face that there was one, single seat bathroom in the bar. There may have been other facilities, but true form, there was no help from any of the staff. BOTTOM LINE: the food isn good, reasonably priced and good portions. The bar portion was very nice and inviting except for just one single use bathroom. The service and friendliness of the waitress and hostesses left much to be desired. Parking was off street as they don't have sufficient parking (we parked some 2 blocks away..) If you live within walking distance, wish to sit at the bar and listen to good music (at least last night) I would recommend Dox.. As we live close to an hour away, I can not make a recommendation to travel to have good food and entertainment at the expense of substandard service, questionable drinks and scant sanitary facilities. Sorry, it would not take much to get a higher rating but prolly not enough for us to make a return visit.

The staff seems to be misogynistic, discriminatory against women, and spiteful. When a drunk man harassed a my mother at the bar, she tried to defend herself and was asked to leave. Three years after, when we came back because a friend was performing in Kitty O'Hara's, the manager demanded an apology from us at the doorway, and would not serve us or the people that came in with us. It would be one thing if the experience was horrible and the food was good, but in my experience this is not the case. Before the whole ordeal listed above, I tried a hamburger and fries, what should be a simple meal. But the hamburger I ate there had some of the blandest meat I have ever tasted, the lettuce was soggy and had clearly been sitting out for while. I really can't say enough about this place. Poor quality food, disrespectful staff. I have never been quite as disrespected as I was in this establishment, and I deeply recommend you find another place to go. read more

I hate this bar because so racist. Me and my friends went in there to have a good time, but later we find out that there were a bunch of people staring at us because were people of color. I heard the staff saying slurs under their breath. Not to mention we saw no one wearing a mask!!! We felt so uncomfortable about this place that we wouldn't be surprised if they spit on our food. Went to Kitty O Haras for the first time today to celebrate St. Pattys Day Had a great time!! Food was delicious and everyone was so nice, especially the sweet bartender Lynn!! Drinks were great and topped off with delicious Irish coffee for dessert!! Will definitely be back again, its like visiting family!! read more
