Great local restaurant located in our town. The staff is amazing. The food is really good. The prices are reasonable.

Today I met a few friends at Connolly's. The restaurant for lunch was not crowded so we didn't need a reservation for lunch. They had Guinness and the bartender knew how to pour a pint. The food is solid. We had the shepherds pie egg roll as an appetizer which were very tasty. The restaurant is clean and the tables are not on top of each other. I always enjoy going there. read more

My boyfriend and I came to Connolly Pub & Restaurant in Malverne tonight, May 6th, looking forward to a nice dinner together. We had been holding onto the gift certificate since September and finally got the chance to use it after a really rough few months, so we were genuinely excited for a relaxing night out. The food and atmosphere were alright, but unfortunately the experience at the end completely ruined the night for us. There was a misunderstanding with the gift certificate payment, and we honestly thought the tip had already been taken from the remaining balance when the check was processed. As we were walking back to our car, the waitress there (forget her name- only blonde, older, waitress there on a Wednesday night) suddenly came chasing after us in the parking lot. She ran to the door of the restaurant we just walked out of and yelled out to us "is there a reason you didn't leave me a tip?!?!" We were completely caught off guard and honestly embarrassed. We thought she had taken it off the gift certificate already (so I asked if there was a receipt of how much was left but I guess she just wrote it on the certificate and we didn't realize.) we still thought she took it off already. However, this was extremely embarrassing and could've been handled calmly as it was a misunderstanding. Very unprofessional and rude. Also our first experience here-- will definitely not be back. Also-- we were already at the car so my boyfriend proceeded to take out all the cash he had on him and gave her that tip-- she scuffed and didn't say thank you and just took the cash and went back inside! Food was excellent. We had salmon and grilled chicken. Bartender was excellent. Waitress was quite slow and unattentive, considering we were only one of two tables at the time. I'd go back for the food, but NOT this waitress. read more

Went there on a Sunday night to listen to Mary Gibbons who comes on at 6pm. We got there at 5:30pm seated in back to eat by the owner Jerry. Food was good. Started with the shrimp cocktail. Shrimp good size. I had to steak and shrimp. My steak was cooked to perfection as I like it medium rare and it comes with either side soup or a salad. I picked a salad was delicious. Great ranch dressing. The only complaint I have was my mashed potatoes were a little cold. I definitely will go back. I love listening to Irish music there. read more

Went in for a drink with my daughter and her boyfriend. The nasty bartender older female wouldn't serve my daughter's 26 year old boyfriend because he is from out of state. She is nasty and told my daughter who is in the military that her Military ID was not an approved type of identification. This place is nasty and she should be fired, I am so sick of people in Malverne acting like this place is so amazing. My family and I found the restaurant warm and Inviting. We went on a Sunday night and they play live music on Sunday's. It wasn't too loud and we still were able to have a conversation while enjoying the live music. The waitstaff was attentive and the manager was friendly and checked in on us multiple times. The Irish soda bread was delicious, and we all enjoyed our dinners. We definitely plan to go back and recommend going on a Sunday night. read more

Eh. I was here with a group of friends - about 30. The server we had was wonderful. Great personality, attentive, and quick to get anything you needed. Unfortunately that was where it ended. We sat outside in a small garden area which was very nice. Except when a train came through. The railroad is literally on the other side of the fence. I had salad, London broil with mushroom gravy, mashed potato, and green beans. I asked for Caesar salad but they only offered house salad. The salad was actually quite nice but I asked for blue cheese dressing and the dressing had no flavor. Wishbone from the bottle is better. The London broil was just tough. I understand that is not the most tender cut of beef but they had put no effort into tenderizing and they sliced it on the thick side. That made it even more chewy. Two others who sat with me ordered the same and had the same comments. I ordered iced tea and I had to get a glass of water as well. The tea was so strong and bitter I had to cut it. I can only believe it had been sitting a very long time. If I went back, and I doubt I will, I would definitely try something different. read more

My favorite Irish Pub. We go out of our way to drive here (45 minutes). Love everything about this place. Always feel welcome when I walk in, and I love the old wooden booths. Nice selection of pub food - it's hard to not get the steak tidbits on garlic bread when I go so it's usually what I will order. But I have tried other selections like the Shepherds pie, burgers, penne vodka, wraps and appetizers and they all have been awesome. If I lived closer I would definitely try a night of live music and drinks, it looks like it has great vibes near the bar. Highly recommend! read more

I have been coming here since I was a kid. I've lived in Malverne my whole life and I have traveled to many places but Connoly's will always be home to me. The food is ALWAYS delicious. Consistency is the biggest issue most restaurants face but not Connoly's, I have not had ONE less-than-perfect dish here. The owner Jerry is an absolute gem of a guy and the staff is always on point! Food is OK nothing special. Service was OK except for when it came time for the check. The server gave us the check and disappeared for 30 minutes, and we were the only ones in there for lunch. I finally got up and asked one of the bartenders if I could pay the check. She said sure, and went looking for our server who was sitting at the back of the bar on her phone! Been going here for years. Food never disappoints. Our waitress was so nice and attentive. The only negative was the band that was playing Sunday night, was way too loud. We all had to basically yell across the table to be heard. The band and music were fine. The place is not large enough for the volume they were playing at . Tried to eat here. Went inside, waited for someone to come, nobody does so we go to the bartender who states to go to the patio and she would send someone out. We went outside and this woman gets up from a table, doesn't introduce herself and abruptly stated that we have to go inside and tell the hostess we want to eat outside. What hostess? We told her the bartender told us to come outside. She crumples her face in disappointment. She asks a waiter if there is anywhere to sit. We point to under a tree. She states we will have to wait for it to be cleaned. Not sure why she can't help the waiter and clean it but again, we have no idea who she is except for some hostile woman that is obviously annoyed by our patronage. We left. I've been wanting to stop here for a while and this past Sunday I was able to check it out for Brunch. This place is right in the Malverne train station with plenty of metered parking (no payment on Sunday) Came in around noon and the place was not that busy. We were taken to nice little booth. Along with their Brunch menu on the weekends they serve their full menu as well. We both decided on Eggs Benedict and it was a great choice. Eggs were perfectly cooked, delicious holandaisse sauce and home fries too! The brunch has all you can drink mimosas, bloody marys or Screwdrivers - not bad at all for dishes starting at $14.95. The drinks were served in huge glasses - even the mimosas were served with ice which I never saw before, but I wasn't complaining. The place is large and probably would be a good place for a group, especially for brunch on a Sunday. I'll be back and i will bring a designated driver so I can take advantage of the unlimited booze at brunch! read more

Sneaky good pub with a great outdoor patio in the heart of Malverne. All your pub food favorites done well. I had a really good bacon cheeseburger. My picky kids loved everything especially the fries. Kid's meal included a bowl of ice cream. Service was friendly and efficient. It's too nice to be considered a dive. The inside of the pub is your authentic Irish pub with the dark wood tables and bar settings. The drinks were pretty strong (five stars!) The menu is pretty typical...nothing to write home about. Now this place lost 2 stars for the terrible food. WHO MAKES BUFFALO WINGS WITH KETCHUP? And the blue cheese wasn't my favorite. read more
