I unfortunately found myself at this restaurant/bar for dinner with my daughter. We ordered an appetizer of fried calamari, which seemed to taste a little strange like oil, not oily themselves, but like it was fried in overused oil. Stupidly I ordered the fried chicken sandwich: ate less than half of it. Wound up taking home the other half of the chicken sandwich which tasted the same as the calamari same used oily flavor. I was ill most of the day on Saturday. The sandwich kept repeating on me ! Unfortunately this will be the first time last time there and the rest of that chicken sandwich went in the garbage this afternoon. I will be fair and say the dessert was good. read more

I came here twice with my ex boyfriend's mom to see our friend Mike Eich host karaoke. The first time I came here I ate the fries, the second time I had the nachos. I wasn't a fan of the nachos but the fries were good. I also had desserts each time and those were very good. I like my sweets. It's a fun hoppin' bar as well. I don't drink but Mike drew enough of a crowd between bar regulars and karaoke goers who came to support him that he got the place moving. I get out of work pretty late so I was looking for a something new in the local area with good food. Haven't been here yet but always drove past.. so decided to try. From outside it looks pretty fancy but it's a casual establishment with a chill atmosphere. The entrance is like a door to a home. Kind of confusing, found myself second guessing which door was the entrance but I think either of the doors work. Definitely a place where locals lurk! Decent amount of people for a Thursday night. Lots of people surrounding the bar and there were only a few open tables. They have live music sometimes which is pretty cool, although no live music when I went. Steak tidbits: really good steak on top of a creamy sauce and toasted bread. Breakfast burger: opted for the egg on the side, but great burger. Comes with fries. Crispy chicken sandwich: perfectly crisp. Comes with fries. We had to wait a while to catch someone's attention for the check but considering we were in the dining area and no one was actively tending to these tables it made sense. Otherwise the staff was pretty friendly. At one point the owner was walking by and saw me struggling to get ketchup out of the bottle, kindly helped me, introduced himself, and welcomed us to his place. Pleasant interaction. It's actually called Memories 2 (M2 for short ) which you will see on the sign out front. Our waitress explained the new owner did some reinventing of the original so I guess it's really 2.0. It feels very new and clean and shiny. I was amazed at the high shine on the polished wood floor. Also pretty brightly lit. I prefer my Bar & Grills a bit divier but I loved the decor of etched mirrors featuring famous entertainers of the golden age. I imagine and hope the lights get turned down low when the bands are on stage, which looks to be every Friday and Saturday night! The bar side is very narrow though, must get pretty tight at show time which probably makes for a good time depending on the company. Our waitress was cheerful and welcoming, had the specials memorized and didn't need to write down our order. I made a meal from the Avocado Salad and Cuban Cigar Eggroll app. Perfectly ripe sliced avocado and a nice flavorful dressing with hints of cilantro coming through. I think I would have liked some Iceberg or even Romaine in it though because those mesclun greens don't have any crunch. The Eggroll was awesome, like a Cuban sandwich rolled up and crispy outside. I would definitely order it again. Richard had the Low and Slow Short Ribs which were so moist and tender and delicious with a lovely light brown onion sauce. It should be noted the portions are not the typical supersize we've grown too used to, so some might consider them on the small side. My only complaint really is that the heat was badly lacking. This place used to be pretty good however the service really went downhill along with the food quality. Placed a pick up order on a Thursday and was told it would be about 20-25 minutes. Got there after 20 minutes and was told it would be about another 10-15 minutes, waited over an hour. Was told the food was being packed up twice while waiting after asking how much longer it would be. They weren't busy however kept saying they had a big pick up order (this should've been specified when I placed the order). After waiting all this time, when we got home the steak was over cooked, potatoes were burnt and the chicken was very oily. Had we not already paid, we would've left. Another travel work week and google places to eat. I found this place and decided to give it a try. I met the owner Joe and asked his advise on food. Recommended his BBQ Chicken but said takes a little longer than most dishes. I said no problem and it did not disappoint me at all. His BBQ sauce was awesome and tasty with a little heat. I go here often and can say it is one of my favorite places to eat. The employees are the nicest to be served by. The food.....I love. We always get the pan roasted chicken, it is a dish they are known for. It takes a little longer to cook but so worth it. When they have baked clams on the specials menu, I definitely recommend them. Tim will even make clams casino for you if he has time. The best casino I have ever tasted. Joe, the owner, will always stop by your table to make sure everything is good. We had burgers, The "King" Elvis Burger and the My Way "SInatra" Burger where you pick 4 items to top your burger. They were great. Bar drinks were made damn good! The menu had great items not typical of a bar, but we came for burgers. Happy hour is Mon. - Fri. 4pm - 7pm. The wait staff were great and we ended with a delicious Bailey's Irish Cream cheese cake, very light and not too heavy. They have live bands Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Ordered memories tonight for their corned beef and cabbage because it is st Patrick's day. The corned beef was the best I ever had in my life. So so tasty and very tender. Not one tough piece at all. The cabbage however different story it was a little tough but I didn't mind. I do wish they did give more cabbage however. The potatoes that came with it also phenomenal. Looks like I'll be ordering there every year, it is pure chaos in there on at Patrick's day but that's everywhere you go tonight. Memories definitely delivered in a big way tonight. read more

Pub w/ music. I've passed it a zillion times and it always looked kind of shabby but it went through an overhaul a couple of months ago and now at least looks enticing enough to stop in. Being that we were out anyway, we popped in for a little refreshment and had a great time. The place is deceivingly large once you are inside- which is nice since the centerpiece of this pub is a large stage area for live music. The bartenders rock and the food is extremely good- well beyond the normal bar food offered up in many places. Prices were decent and the atmosphere was extremely comfortable - plus clean bathrooms with a flat screen to keep you up on the game whilst you clean the pipes. Perfect. Parking behind. read more

UPDATE.... We recently attended a dinner birthday celebration here. We placed our orders at 7:30 and at 9 our orders still are not out of the kitchen. Also we noticed two tables that arrived after us had their dinner in front of them. Our complaint fell on deaf ears when Joe the owner just shrugged his shoulders and told us that there were a lot of orders and we had to be patient. How would I describe the food at Memories 2? Surprising & sensational. Why surprising? Well what bar do you get amazing food with an attention to every detail? The answer is Memories 2. Let me give you a little rundown of what I tried... The shrimp bisque soup was rich but not overly cream with depth of flavor and a lot of shrimp. The barbecue ribs, which I had without sauce, were savory with a touch of sweet and they were good enough to swap out the fries & beans for a double portion of sautéed greens. The garlic Parmesan wings had crunchy skin while still staying juicy inside and the sauce was one of the best wing seasonings I've ever tried. Usually I would go for traditional Buffalo sauce but I made the correct choice to go with something new because the garlic Parmesan are excellent. The crab cakes are full of crab meat with very little else in the way of binder or filler, nicely pan fried with a smoky aioli which is the perfect complement. Friends I was with had the short rib poutin (hand cut French fries with gravy and cheese curd) & the sausage & broccoli rabe egg rolls which they devoured. Joe, the owner, makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk through the door. What a disappointment this years Street fair was at this establishment. In order to get food or drinks (beers) you need to wait on line to pay for what you want and then the cashier gives you a coupon which you take to another line to get service. Well the line for the cashier is the same as the food line so, when people pay for food but what they want isn't ready yet, the line stalls and the cashier does nothing but sit in her chair rather than check the line for people that only want beers. What a waste of my time. I stood in line for over 25 minutes because food wasn't ready and caused a stall. What would be a better plan is to have the register alone somewhere near the front with a sign that says "get coupons here" and then people could move to the correct line preventing the stall and long wait. Several people on line as aggravated as me felt this was a good idea. I would like to see management checking the activity too rather than setup a plan that they never check to see how it's working. read more

So I go into what looks like a cute place for a cocktail. Well I must say don't judge a book by its cover. The bartender by the name of Maggie takes my order for bar drink and chicken wings. I specifically told her I want crispy juicy wings and make sure they are hot off the fryer in temperture. What I got was cold, soggy & greasy wings after waiting more than 30 minutes. It's no wonder they were empty. Honestly, if you can't make wings right then you might as well close your doors. I told the bartender that they taste like they are bought at 7-11 and she just nodded her head and walked away. Seriously!!! Customer service goes a long way! Just because the cook messes up at least the server can make it right.. In this case I will never be going back to this place nor will I reccomended anyone else too. Btw I believe the owner overheard what was going on but didn't seem too concerned. I left extremely unhappy! The only reason it got two stars was for the decor. Everything else was a fail! This used to be a nice neighborhood bar, but with the new owner NOT ANYMORE! My husband and I stopped in for a dirty martini after our dinner at the diner across the street. It was New Year's Eve and we didn't want to rush home. We have often gone into Memories for a few drinks and maybe listen to some music. FIRST) The Martini: $13 each, watered down liquor, not "dirty" and the olives were soggy and tasted like they were soaking in WATER. In all my years I have never had such an awful drink, so blatantly watered down it was like drinking water with water! A waste of our hard earned money. SECOND) The new owner: Aparently one of the waitresses had some issue with a check or something and the owner Joe got all nasty and loud with the waitress RIGHT IN FRONT OF US! Very classless. Also, Joe was sitting the whole time chatting it up with some girl, he never came around and introduced himself to anyone....bad karma and rude. You would think he would be more personable, but he wasn't in any way shape or form. THIRD) We will NEVER GO BACK!!
