The atmosphere was fun, and we loved how the TVs are hidden behind what look like paintings when not in use -- such a cool touch! There's plenty of seating, even for larger groups. We'll definitely be back for future England games, and next time we may bring our dog since we found out they're dog-friendly too!

We had one of their rotating cask beers and one of their bitter regular casks which is a staple of the establishment-each beer was delicious and tasty! I had the vegan curry dish which was very tasty with veggies, rice and great spice. My friends had a dish similar to Shepherd's Pie but slightly different and cooked with more like steak stewed meat rather than lamb and we all licked our plates clean LOL. We also shared two of the desserts which were vanilla ice cream with some type of coconut cookie in it and the other was vanilla ice cream with a yummy type of strawberry sauce I think. The atmosphere is so laid back as well-like traditional British Pubs you order your drinks and food at the bar and they deliver your food to your table with a number. You are able to sit wherever you would like and I hear it gets very packed for European football games. I can't wait until I get a chance to go again-there aren't a ton of food options being that I don't eat red meat-but I was able to find the curry and could also try the Fish and Chips which looked amazing and I have heard it is great. At that point, I needed a drink and so I recruited a NYC friend and uber'd to a local place open til 4am, but it was closed. We googled and mapped and walked from there to CJs. Someone was inside!!! We waved. They said they were closed. We stood on the sidewalk trying to figure out whether to try another location or to go back to the hotel and the bartender (JIMMY!!!) was headed out for the night. He asked where we were from and I said "Maine". He lit up. He let us in. It was my friend's birthday. The stars had aligned, stranded me in NYC, and sent us to CJs. The two of us and Jimmy chatted into the wee hours of the morning...we did birthday tequila, birthday coronas...birthday bud heavies. And the kitchen was closed but Jimmy shared his sandwich. He smiled and remembered my wife from the night before. We sat down and viewed the menu. Nice selection of food and drinks. We ordered some drinks. My wife had a soda and I had Smithwick beer. A good Irish ale. We decided on the French onion soup. It was served hot and was delicious! We ate and talked and some of our friends came in and visited with them. Good times. My wife was full after the soup , so she ordered some French fries. I ordered a buffalo chicken burger with onion rings. I thought I try something different the chicken burger was great and the onion rings were perfect. We enjoy our meal and visiting with our friends. Marcus gave us a tray for our leftover with a note on the cover. See the photos. It seems Marcus adds a special note to his customers. This was a nice and unexpected surprise.
