My friends and I happen to pass by and tried this place after having dinner from a restaurant a few miles away. I have been living around this neighborhood for a while and I have not even tried stepping into this place-MY LOSS. Parking is not a problem as the joint has a parking lot beside it. My first impression after getting into their door: relaxed, friendly, and chill local bar, with a lively vibe and a decent size bar area. Casual, informal atmosphere, American pub fare with a dynamic, cozy ambiance. Bar offers a good selection of beers and cocktails and seems to be a popular local spot for watching sports or enjoying a casual night out with friends.  Unfortunately I was unable to try their food as me and my friends were already full prior to coming to this joint, but according to my friend who has been here before, he praised their food for being good which includes burgers, fries, onion rings, and wings.  The vibe is cheerful and energetic, they have a live singer, people watching sports on multiple screens, costumers chatting which tend to get louder as the night gets deeper. They have a wide selection of craft beer and signature cocktails. Staff is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We have enjoyed their different craft beers, costumer and staff friendliness, and the cozy ambiance. Brew house seems to be a solid choice for a laid-back and fun local bar experience in New Hyde Park, especially if you're looking for pub food, cold beer, and a lively atmosphere with events.  Definitely coming back to try their pub food as recommended by my friend. read more

Great local bar! What a great bar, with a super chill laid back vibe. I was looking for a local bar with Karaoke for my birthday and I am so glad my friend recommended this place! Dennis behind the bar was excellent! Great personality and very attentive. It may seem like a small thing, but I really liked (and appreciated) that he automatically served a glass of water with each drink (I was drinking whiskey). Everything was nice and clean, and the drinks were so reasonably priced! There was a good selection of food also, and although I didn't eat anything, my friends ordered wings and enjoyed them. UPDATE: Got COVID-19 from this place because of all the people and employees not wearing masks. Had to pay a $5 cover fee during covid for a sit down. Walked in the place is packed and no one is wearing masks. They also let all under age kids in. Felt very uncomfortable since they were taking no covid guidelines. When my party got a table we were asked to hold a card for the table, which we gave them. When we tried to get the credit card back they claimed that the card was maxed out and they could not give it back. They only gave it back to us when we gave them an ultimatum. We just went for the weekly burger and we walked into the Brew House holiday party! Complimentary Buffet with everything on the buffet. Sausage and peppers, Shepherds Pie, Eggplant lasagna, Ravioli, Macaroni and Cheese, Meatballs with Mozzarella, Chicken with mushroom sauce and more. They lost me at the Lasagna. Everything was delicious and Ramone the chef prepared the food. I ordered a Malibu Bay Breeze and this was probably my first cocktail in three years. It was pretty good, but I also told the bartender to put it in a big glass with lots of juice. I did not want it too strong. G had the diet coke and was the designated driver. After our first plate of food we both asked each other if we wanted anything else.....we were so full and it was so nice that this little neighborhood bar put out such a nice spread for the patrons. Just before we left, I went to speak with Ramone and thanked him for such lovely food. Ramone was so nice and said he was so glad we enjoyed the food. He told me he always cooks everything fresh and takes care to make sure the quality of the food they serve is always excellent. You can really tell that Ramone takes great pride in his cooking. Love this place. Bartender Mike and our fave waitress Christina are always the best. Wednesday night trivia is always fun with Bobby! The food is actually really good here. This spot is the GOAT. First off, I came here last Wednesday with the boys and we played some trivia and got our butts whooped but it was so fun. The entire bar really gets into the trivia mood and you can tell quickly who are the regulars and who watches too much jeopardy haha. The prices for food and drink here are great! I got 1 Guinness, 1 Stella, chicken tenders and french fries and everything came around $33 after tip and taxes which is very fair IMO. The bar lay out is medium sized but it has a very local cozy feel. Everyone was so welcoming from the staff to the other customers. In the back they have some darts and beer pong table if you want to play. The bathrooms are pretty clean too! Something that is surprising from a bar haha. Easy street parking or they also have a large lot, best if you don't drive if you plan to drink! I'm coming back because I'm going to win trivia night. Damn it. read more

This is definitely a local bar where the bartender knows everyone's name. The menu is your typical bar food plenty of TVs with numerous games on perfect for football Sunday. My favorite local bar. This place has everything I'm looking for when I want to have a drink. Friendly staff, great food, cold beer, game on, good music, games, and fishing trips. What more could you ask for? My husband and I frequent this place when we want a beer late night. Last night we actually tried the food. I am amazed that it took me so long and disappointed in myself for not eating here sooner. We brought our 22 yr old daughter with us because we all wanted a cold beer and good food to recover from a long, stressful day. My daughter and I had burgers, because what's better with beer, and my hubby had the Paulie sandwich which is chicken cutlet on a hero roll with melted mozzarella and gravy. YES GRAVY!!! We all had fries and I must say they are in my top 5 of best fries list. We also had garlic Parmesan wings and medium wings. The only thing that would have made this meal better is a side of gravy to dip my half of the paulie sandwich in, because you just can't ever have enough gravy. I'm sure they have busy nights but I usually come in Sunday-Thursday and it's never been overly crowded. In May they advertise a chartered fishing trip which I plan on attending this year with my son. Great food. Great atmosphere. Atmosphere is nice and relaxed, if you come with a big group sometimes seating can be challenging only one real spot for a lot of people to sit. It was my first time there and I somewhat enjoyed Karaoke on Wednesday. Nobody but the bartenders and two people was wearing a mask so covid was spreading like crazy!!! I had my karaoke paper thrown back at me because he said he didn't have time to play my song but continue to play everyone else song!!! The bartenders are cool, my only complaint is the young fraternity college students that came there fighting and can't control their liquor!!! Been here a few times, and they're doing their best during COVID. Beer selection great as always and the bartenders are always great to chat and laugh with! Went in at 9, they were checking IDs (I'm sure they get a lot of kids trying to come in), staff wearing masks, and it seemed like they were trying to abide by restrictions because a lot of people were waiting to get in, but better to make everyone wait than let everyone in and not be as safe. Basic local intimate bar on Hillside Avenue. Looked to be mostly regulars sitting at the bar. They do have a handful of booths and we walked in Friday evening and sat down at one. Looks like they don't have any dedicated hostess or even waiters. We had to ask at the bar because we weren't even acknowledged. Looks like the bartender has to come over to the booth to take your order. We had a couple of tap beers per person and a couple of appetizers. The nacho chili was very good and had a nice kick to it. The wings were pretty basic and nothing special. Once we got the bill, was surprised to see Sam Adam's charged at $6 a glass. Much more than I expected for this place. If you're wanting to see a game on the screens, you have to be sitting right at the bar to see them. From the booths the screens would be small. read more

Love this place. I've been going there around half a year and it's become my second home. Takes a while to get your food because Raymond the chef is clearly making each dish to order. Chicken pot pie, Chili, burgers, and specials ( had chicken milanese the other night) are all great. The bartenders have become my friends; each one is warm and friendly as well as funny. I saw one review that "they let underage kids in", That must of been my grandchild who is six years old who told me it was the " best burger he every had". This bar needs a bouncer/security. I loved coming here as it is a local bar in the neighborhood I moved into a year ago. But on my last two occasions I have been harassed by a group of Indian-American thugs that, according to the owner and a bartender, are "regulars who pay my bills." They disrespect women and have been violent on multiple occasions. I get it they are regulars. But they are a rowdy group who cannot handle their liquor and are constantly starting issues. The owner needs to address this immediately or this bar will burn to the ground. Otherwise it is a great bar to go to but beware of the thugs. read more

Great first experience at the Brew House. Food was fresh and flavorful. The decor was bright and airy and clean. I enjoyed the tap beer selection and was happy to choose Brooklyn Lager. Only one during lunch! Darn. I had the chicken empanadas. Not too spicy, just right. Nothing left on my plate. My friends all had the Mexican burger in slightly different editions. Alcohol is taboo in my family. Drinks are frowned upon at my grandparent's house. My father passed away unexpectedly in New Hyde Park while we were visiting family 2 weeks ago. I don't need alcohol to survive through sorrows and pain. It does help soften the blow. My uncle Rob asked if I wanted to grab a beer. We ended up on Hillside right next to Hand Rolled Bagels at Brew House. They have a decent selection of draft beers with some unique, east coast IPAs. My family spent every summer at the tip of Long Island in Mountauk so I kept drinking the Montauk IPA. The bartenders were personable. It was great to meet other patrons and talk about life. I was looking for a place to catch up with some friends over wings and drinks and found this place on Google. We came in on a Wednesday night, booths were empty, a handful of people sitting at the bar, with what looked like one lady working the entire bar and tables. We sat down by ourselves and had to go to the bar to place our order and even get our drinks. It also took awhile for water to come to our table. I'm sitting there with my friends at the booth thinking we chose the wrong place and was ready to give this Brew House three stars. However as the night went on, I grew to like the place even more and this place soon became the new Wednesday Night Hangout spot for my friends and me. They had great deals on their beers and pitchers. We ordered 50 wings, but that was more than enough for my two friends and me. Wednesday night's they do trivia night which turned out to be very fun as there were these two girls walking around serving free Miller beers and my friends and I got to bond over how stupid we were in answering the questions. The service picked up as well as our new waitress kept checking up on our table to make sure we everything was good and we had everything we needed. First impression of the place was bad, but I guess we just came too early (6pm) which I guess is their down time. But I left the place with an entirely different impression.
