Skirt steak
Amanda M.

I really enjoyed BC Bistro! We got a booth which I recommend if you can get it since the restaurant is a little small. Some people also come to watch sports by the bar so I recommend sitting away from the bar if that's not your jam. There is also a large free public parking lot a short walk from the restaurant that makes parking easy. The service was very friendly and they kept offering us more free bread, we didn't have to ask, which my husband loved. The cocktails looked huge and popular but we went with the wine. They have a good selection and the pours are a good portion. I saw a lot of people order the French onion soup which looked good but we didn't get. The filet mignon was very good quality and well cooked. It came with mashed potatoes that were flavored well and grilled asparagus. The bearnaise sauce that came with it was so good I cleaned my plate. My husband got the skirt steak and he said he really enjoyed it, particularly how the chimichurri sauce had a bit of a kick. We tried the apple crumble for dessert and thought it was just mediocre and don't recommend. Overall great restaurant, we would definitely go back!

Beautiful place!! This was my first time there and WOW!! The staff were absolutely wonderful and sooo courteous! My mom is wheelchair bound so the staff was extremely accommodating to our needs. We attendees for brunch and OH MY GOODNESS! Not only did the food look delicious, but it tasted great! You almost didn't want to eat the food because it looked so beautiful! We had an absolutely beautiful time for such a special occasion! You'll also run into some "danger" by walking next door to the Buttercooky to grab a delicious dessert! I'll be back again for dinner in the future!! Thank you BC Bistro!

Italian egg rolls - cheese sausage and brocolli rabe filling - 10/3/2025

Update second time at BC Bistro knocked it out of the park again! They were so accommodating with our seating. We were a part of 3. My mom loved her Octopus appetizer and burrata salad which is always so fresh!!!! The octopus now comes with tomatoes and onions and she stated the onions were absolutely delicious. Had an awesome server named Donnie - amazing service he deserves a huge raise!!!! Italian Egg Rolls were pretty good filled with cheese, sausage and broccoli rabe. My gnocchi appetizer was delicious the mushrooms in it were high quality and delicious giving the dish a wonderful flavor profile. We all ordered the tres levhed cake and it was sooooo good! My mom was upset she finished it bc she wanted more. It is a decent size and I was so happy our server poured evaporated milk all over it. -

I am passing by this place for the longest time and thankfully with group of friends persistence, I was able to try it this time. We had our reservation set , the room was half filled when we walked in. We requested to moved to a better table location and the staff did not give us a hard time. Meals are shareable with no extra plate fee. Drinks are on point. We tried their holiday cocktails . We were not disappointed. Mixed appetizers and few entrees were ordered and we were satisfied with its taste. This bistro is a great addition to our neighborhood. Next to its location is popular bakery if you are up for sweets and coffee afterward. Staff is great.

Food was pretty mediocre to good for a brunch place. Easy to get reservations and attentive friendly staff. However, it took forever to get our food. We were only a party of 5 with 2 children.

The arrabbiatta pasta dish. Sorry didn't get the name of it.

4.25 If you enjoy a nice, creamy arrabbiata sauce, come to BC Bistro in Floral Park. My family and I visited to celebrate several birthdays. None of us had been there before, but it received really good reviews, and with a mixture of Italian and American cuisine, we were sold. It's located on Jericho Turnpike, not too far off the Cross Island, so it's pretty easy to get to. Although it's on a busy street with metered parking and a municipal parking lot on the next block, there is plenty of parking in the residential area surrounding it. You can enter the restaurant directly or through Buttercooky Bakery (where the "BC" comes from). The interior is nice and inviting, and the staff is very friendly. Food-wise, everything was pretty good. We had the crispy zucchini and eggplant, prosciutto pizza, BC salad, penne with sausage, cauliflower cavatappi, the arrabbiata pasta dish (not shown on their online menu), beef short rib, duck breast, and a skirt steak special. As mentioned in my opening line, if you like a creamy arrabbiata sauce, you should definitely get this dish. It also comes with burrata right in the middle. The other dishes were okay; I was surprised that the duck wasn't too gamey and had a lot of flavor. My least favorite was probably the cauliflower cavatappi. Will I come back again? Absolutely--especially for that arrabbiata dish!

Great meal, beautiful clean interior. Acoustically - a little loud but tolerable. Service- very attentive . Starts with a basket of Italian bread, which I always appreciate now and enjoy. Good menu with vegetarian options. Two fish dishes and an extra one , one of the specials of the day . Lots of appetizers / salads to chose from . The tuna tartar was excellent ( could use a little less wasabi on the plate). Dessert was good and from the connecting bakery. Buttercookery! Delish. Would definitely recommend , a nice festive meal. Nicely decorated for the holidays also .

Great ambiance upon entering. We were seated quickly. The menu has a lot of variety which made it difficult. I considered many options then selected the lamb chops, medium rare. My companion had the burger. Of course I had to try a sliver of the burger first, and the fries. The burger was juicy and delicious and the fries were not too crispy and not soft. Delicious The lamb chops were a tad overdone, but plentiful. They weren't as seasoned as I anticipated but otherwise were ok juicy and bit tough. The spinach and orzo sides were absolutely delicious. There was enough to eat and have a take home meal. My doggie got a treat of lamb bones. We both tried the tres leches desert which was layered with a creamy sauce, very moist and delicious. Quite plentiful as well I enjoyed my meal and dessert and will surely return for another entree.

Chilean seafood bass, vegetables and rice; lamb chops; duck.

Food was really tasty and good. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, not overcooked. Portions could have been more but I was able to walk away full.

Sunday brunch

I love Buttercooky, it's my go to spot for cakes. I was intrigued when I saw on IG that they opened a restaurant and couldn't wait to try it. Unfortunately BC Bistro was pretty disappointing. I dined on a Sunday for brunch, they don't take reservations, we walked in and waited 1/2 hr to be seated (party of 3), there were open tables in the back but the hostess told us that area is not in use. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks as we waited, the bartender was very attentive but you can see he was clearly overwhelmed. The waitstaff was very friendly, our food came out quickly, but it was just mediocre. Menu was very limited, not as many brunch type options as I expected. Nothing special on the menu or anything that shows off their extension of the bakery. Food was bland, needed salt, pepper, & hot sauce. Eggs Benedict needed some sort of sauce, short rib hash was dry, omelet was basic. They don't even have any specialty teas or coffees- why not serve the beverages they post online? I'll be sticking to the bakery side from now on

First and foremost, the bartender Steve is absolutely wonderful and makes the drinks strong and tasty. Second, it's so nice to have BC Bistro as an addition to the neighborhood. Think similar vibes to The Harrison but more cozy. Third, the food is great. One of my favorites is the tuna tartare which is accompanied by a wasabi sauce which has a pretty nice kick. All in all, glad to have this spot in Floral Park.

Came here on Christmas Eve with my family. The waiter was very friendly and accommodating. We thought the Christmas prix fixe menu was a bit expensive, and the appetizers were very small portions. My dad ordered the egg roll and it was just one egg roll cut in half. My mom did get a large portion of calamari. The entrees were delicious and I really enjoyed my duck. They also gave me a huge slice of delicious carrot cake.

Had such a great time here!!! Delicious burgers made to perfection. Giant mimosas. Live singer and a waiter that sang, both amazing. A Santa was on hand for kids.

Housed in a landmark Floral Park building, this gem has a warm ambiance with low lighting, leather booths, and quiet background coffee-sleepy-jazz in the background (Though, as a fan, I wish they hadn't messed with the Sly and the Family Stone's "If You Want Me To Stay" :D). There is an inviting large bar, an open kitchen, and a large private room in the back. The menu is American classics made with premium ingredients. Although his place is known for their single malt whiskey, craft beer and signature cocktails, only one at our table had a cocktail: EZ Money made with gin, prosecco, lemon, cucumber and St- Germain Elderflower Liqueur. I will look at their wine list next visit. As for the food, the garlic bread and calamari did not disappoint. Our table ordered a variety of dishes. A unique rotisserie chicken salad sandwich, a salmon bowl, and an order of mussels. Each dish was a win. I chose a great mesclun green salad and had to try the double smash burger, a mouth-watering proprietary blend of prime chuck, brisket and short rib which I'd have to talk myself out of not re ordering with my next visit. From family gatherings and office parties to intimate date nights, The Harrison offers an ambiance and menu designed to satisfy both the casual diner and the most discerning palate.

Crabtree 's did not disappoint. From the welcoming greeting, by professional restaurant staff, and not bored teenagers, to the impeccable service and food, our experience here was a pure delight. The calamari and ceaser salad appetizers were bursting with flavor and tasted so fresh. I ordered the special, a whole roasted dorado fish. It was divine. My partner had the lobster and shrimp pasta dish and was just as happy. I am a very finicky restaurant diner. I could not recommend this place more. I wish I had taken better pictures to do justice to the food, but it was so delicious looking we just dove right in!

While waiting at the bar for a friend to arrive, I was swarmed by fruit flies, which should have been my first warning sign. The pours at the bar were skimpy, but I tried to shake it off once we got our table. The service there was actually friendly, and our server proudly told us the duck was a top seller, so we ordered it along with a salad and a fish dish. Most of what came out of the kitchen was diner quality at best--nothing special, but not offensive. The duck, however, was a disaster. It tasted old and stale, like it had been sitting in a freezer for months before being rushed through a fryer. The meat was fried to a dry, brittle crisp, and the only flavor came from a cloying sweet duck sauce slapped on top. No richness, no tenderness, no redeeming qualities. We absolutely hated our meal and the entire time we spent there. I can't recommend this place to anyone who actually cares about what they eat.

After visiting for brunch today, I'm excited to be able to update my review with a full five stars…read more- Swing the Teapot is officially one of my local favorites! I had the tea experience with Black Velvet and it was just what I needed. I'll admit that the licorice and peppermint were very faint, but it was still a tasty tea and sharing a large pot with my partner, we finished the whole thing. My MIL loved her ginger peach tea, and my friends each enjoyed theirs, one getting his go-to peppermint and the other trying the red raspberry and remarking in how pleased she was with her choice. Lesson learned- if you come here and DON'T get tea (with the adorable teapot, teacup and saucer, all charmingly mismatched) you're doing it wrong. Because I'm weird, I just ordered the Irish soda bread with a dish of whipped cream as a "light" breakfast, and I appreciated that the server humored me to the fullest. My partner had a blueberry muffin that he was super pleased with, probably his favorite that he's found in the area so far. My MIL unabashedly devoured her chicken salad sandwich and the potato salad it came with - usually she's picky so that's quite the endorsement. The avocado toast and burger that my friends ordered all looked fantastic too. Great service, delicious food and tea, and very good prices- next visit will be for the live music!

The bartender, Rich, on 05/16/26 was being a nasty, rude, and not to mention, snarky toward me…read morewhen he said to me that I have to pay for the seltzer. He said it in a nasty and sarcastic tone the way my father would talk down at me, sometimes. Regardless, if paying for the seltzer was required, I would happily pay; but the fact that this guy was disrespectful about it was unwarranted. He reminds me of my dysfunctional parents when they get in their freaking moods. He also told me that there was a two-drink policy when there's a live band and also told me that if more people are coming to the bar, he would have me move. Basically, he was being unwelcoming and wanted to tell me (but couldn't since he was on the job) "fuck you asshole, you're not welcome at the bar". He didn't actually say that but those were the vibes I got from him. That kind of rude impression from him was just unwarranted. Now, I don't know what made me tip him $6. Maybe I wanted to be the better person in that situation since he was being a total asshole..and maybe I don't want him breathing down my neck about the service. He's a real jerkoff. Next time he does that with me again, I'm not going to be nice about it. He was lucky I kept my cool and chose to remain respectful instead of sink to his dysfunctional level that would remind me of my dysfunctional parents (not to mention, my entire dysfunctional family). So this one really stuck with me in the worst way possible because of bad experiences with my family (which would make more sense). That guy needs to be very careful with how he treats people. He will come across somebody who will be a lot nastier and impatient than him and he will get absolute karma for his rude behavior. He has a job. Therefore, he needs to show some professionalism (I don't mind informalities from employees, as long as they're being friendly people). The waiter I had, Marian H, was more professional and pleasant with me than Rich, the bartender, on May 16th, 2026.
