Brown bread and Irish soda bread (complimentary)
Caitlin K.

The tea is the real star at this place. They have a HUGE assortment of teas and some of them are very unique. I had the chocolate mint tea which was delightful. The restaurant often gives out free Irish soda bread at each table which is fresh from the Tulip Bake Shop. If anything I thought the panini I ordered was a little small for the price and the fries left something to be desired. But other than that, this is a very cute place to stop by for tea and lunch.

The cutest little spot!

Caught up with a friend here today and had the best time! Our waitress was so patient and kind. We ordered tea pretty quickly but got so wrapped up in conversation that it took us forever to actually order food. She never made us feel rushed once, which I really appreciated. The masala tea was absolutely delightful! I genuinely wish I could've taken a whole gallon home to sip on all month! The space itself is stunning: so fancy, feminine, and adorable. Every detail, even the restroom and hallway, was decorated so beautifully and thoughtfully. Next time I'd love to dress up a little more for the vibe, but I was also really grateful that when I showed up in workout leggings and an oversized sweater, they still treated me with the same warmth and care as everyone else. When the bill came, I honestly had to reevaluate my life choices. For such an elegant experience, top-notch service, and amazing quality food and drinks, I couldn't believe I paid about the same as I usually do at totally average places. This spot is truly a gem - can't wait to come back!

Did I die and go to heaven? The western omelette was to die for. It made me think of home and I almost cried. The Irish soda bread is among the best I've had, top 3. My friend got the warm stewed apple pancakes (get the whipped cream and maple syrup) and I think it was the first time I ever I saw her smile. We ordered to mango beach tea and it was so pleasantly fruity. Our waiter was friendly and the food came quick. I'm already planning my next visit in my head. Cute, cottage-core decor and a perfect place to gab with old friends.

Came back again Alot has changed since I came with my son in 2018. The establishment has grown. Looks like the acquired more properties on both sides, but the same cozy feeling. I was feeling for a nice Irish breakfast I wasn't disappointed. I had a nice pot of Chocolate Mint Tea to start, it was delicious. So so, I had to buy a bag at their Bakery around the corner to take home. I have to bring my sister next time, she would love this place. BTW, service was fantastic and very friendly

Had a great brunch Friday afternoon with family. I ordered the Irish Breakfast from the "Auld" menu and it was perfect. The home fries were cooked crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, eggs done perfectly, and sausage was delicious. Sofa bread with butter and jam on the side was a wonderful touch. I gave the black and white pudding to my brother because it's not my thing. But I did taste it and it was exactly as I remembered trying in Dublin many years ago. I had coffee, but the tea menu was extensive!

Swing the teapot is such a nostalgic spot to me. I've been coming here for 15+ years, it was a favorite of my late grandmother as she loved the full Irish breakfast. I am a tea girlie so I love coming here for a pot of tea, there are so many options that you can always find something new to try. My favorite is Harney & Son's Hot Cinnamon Spice. For actual food, I've never found any of their breakfast/brunch options amazing. Everything is just okay. Breakfast wrap (latest pick) was bland and just a diner egg wrap. The breakfast potato's looked amazing but also were just kind of bland.

Cuisine: 5 Service: 8 Decor: 8 Value: 5 Overall: 6 Really wanted to like this breakfast/brunch place because the interior design and friendly service really did make it a better experience, but the food was just not my cup of tea (pun intended). Here is the problem, things that are suppose to be fluffy, like pancakes and waffles, are not. At the same time, things that are suppose to be crispy, like Fish & Chips and Zucchini Wheels & Onion Rings, had this weird soft batter and lacked any crunch at all. Also, I would be doing readers a disservice if I do not mention how dense and dry their Blueberry Scone was. I would skip everything above if I ever revisit. Not everything was subpar. The Spinach & Artichoke Dip was maybe the best item we tried, along with the French Onion Soup. Corn Beef Hash and Eggs Benedict were fine as well, but nothing special. Sadly, though I appreciate the lovely waitress who served us and laughed with us, I simply cannot overlook the taste of the food. I might come back in the future, but it would have to be recommended by someone else.

The ambiance was lovely. The food, not so much. Three stars. Trying to support local businesses, we dined at "Swing the Teapot" in Floral Park, walking distance from the library, post office, and train station. I appreciate how they support local musicians, with live music weekly. The three rooms in this charming corner restaurant are also decorated with care, with tiny teapots, singular signs, and unique ornaments hung with care. We ordered a French onion soup ($8), pancakes ($11), eggs Benedict ($17.25), and a cajun omelet ($16). The soup was salty, and everything else was bland. The cajun omelet had no kick. We've never had home fries with no flavor. The eggs Benedict, ordered over hard, was served over soft with sour sauce, an interesting first. The omelet came with a piece of toast cut in half and a side of homemade jam, which was okay. Parking may be an issue (metered parking all around the block) during busy times. There is a 3.5% up charge for using a credit card. We had high hopes and were disappointed. As lovely as the ambiance was, we do not anticipate returning anytime soon.

My husband took me here on my birthday after church and it's a lovely place. There are three rooms with different personalities all cute and quaint. Staff super friendly and attentive.

This has to be the CUTEST place I have been to for breakfast! The atmosphere is very homey! The service in incredible. And the food is (chefs kiss). I came here with my boyfriend and ordered a western omelette, I forgot what he had. The home fries/potatoes were delicious! Very well seasoned. The coffee is great as well. I had the option to have Irish soda bread with my breakfast. It was delightful. They also had cute dishes on display! I highly recommend this place ! You won't be disappointed.

What a cute teapot-themed restaurant. I recently had brunch there and was surprised and glad that I didn't have to wait for a table. I ordered the passion-plum with ginseng tea - it was served in an old-fashioned teapot with purposely mismatched teacups and saucers, which is part of the ambience. There are interesting teapots and saucers strewn around the restaurant, there's a bar, and 3 rooms where you can dine. I tried the Danish omelette with soda bread - all delicious.

Fish, rice was good, asparagus so so.

Had a reservation last saturday at 6pm. We got a seat in the backroom. We were handed our menu's and it took 8 minutes to finally get a waitress. Her name was Shannon. We placed our 2 drinks orders. She came back 5 minutes we both ordered the fish. Was very fresh. Never once did Shannon come back to check on us. Now we needed our check. Well I was fed up and went looking for her she was behind the bar. I looked at her and was like I will take check. She then went to register while I waited for her to give me my check. I paid. She didn't even ask how our meal was. The place was quiet so what was her excuse. Sorry Shannon needs to get a lesson in customer service. I felt she didn't want to be there. I frequent since I live locally. I don't think I will be back.

Recently visited. The place is so cute. You feel like you are in someone's house. It is very homey. They have tea cups and pots everywhere. They have several rooms. The menu is extensive and the service is great. They have a pretty big selection of teas. I recommend Moroccan and green tea. A must if in the area.

Housed in a landmark Floral Park building, this gem has a warm ambiance with low lighting, leather booths, and quiet background coffee-sleepy-jazz in the background (Though, as a fan, I wish they hadn't messed with the Sly and the Family Stone's "If You Want Me To Stay" :D). There is an inviting large bar, an open kitchen, and a large private room in the back. The menu is American classics made with premium ingredients. Although his place is known for their single malt whiskey, craft beer and signature cocktails, only one at our table had a cocktail: EZ Money made with gin, prosecco, lemon, cucumber and St- Germain Elderflower Liqueur. I will look at their wine list next visit. As for the food, the garlic bread and calamari did not disappoint. Our table ordered a variety of dishes. A unique rotisserie chicken salad sandwich, a salmon bowl, and an order of mussels. Each dish was a win. I chose a great mesclun green salad and had to try the double smash burger, a mouth-watering proprietary blend of prime chuck, brisket and short rib which I'd have to talk myself out of not re ordering with my next visit. From family gatherings and office parties to intimate date nights, The Harrison offers an ambiance and menu designed to satisfy both the casual diner and the most discerning palate.

The whole facility is grand, clean, and quite lovely. There's a beautiful garden area where he had our photographer take pictures. As my wife and I were planning this whole ordeal ourselves, we relied heavily on the Inn's guidance and recommendations. For the most part, they did not let us down. Julia, our wedding planner, helped us every step of the way. And she was great! As were Mary, the maître d,' and Courtney, my wife's adorable bridal attendant. All 3 of these women really did their darndest to help the whole thing come together and go as smoothly as possible. Even down to packing the food up after the party ended (we spent so much time schmoozing, we barely had any time to eat!) And a brief aside about the food: This was one of the few weddings I've (attended?) where all the guests RAVED about the food. When I asked an employee to sweep a small area in the event space that had become dirty, the employee handed me a broom and dustpan and went back to the bar area to socialize with a colleague. The waitstaff is incompetent; they failed to remove finished drinks from tables or attend to guests at all. No one, including me, the host of the event, was asked by the waitstaff if they would like a drink or anything. The only things the waitstaff did were clean food off of tables when a course was over. Throughout the event, the staff appeared untrained and were unaccommodating as guests waited for assistance. In addition, we had no bartender throughout the entire event, even though "Bar Service" was included in our contract. Just a few bottles of red wine and champagne left on top of the bar. Throughout the event, I asked if they could put out white wine, a request they only fulfilled until 30 minutes before the event was over. After the event, we reached out to L, Director of Sales at The Inn at New Hyde Park. She refused to rectify the situation and uphold the contract we had with The Inn. After weeks of her not getting back to us with a resolution, she offered a refund that did not reflect their breaches in contract. Also, on The Inn's website, they claim to have won The Wedding Wire's Couples' Choice Award for 2025. This is false; they did not win.
