    Circus time

We recently went to enjoy a circus on a Saturday night and were very impressed with the level of service and the professionalism of the staff. We arrived by train and there were staff members and police to direct us to the shuttles that would take us to the arena. Everything went seamlessly with people at every intersection to direct traffic. When entering the facility, we noticed that there was an entrance for exclusively American Express card holders and we were able to use that and skip a longer line to get in. Once inside, the venue is well lit, clean and the signage is easy to navigate. More staff was inside to direct any directions from any questions you might have. Food and drink kiosks were abundant throughout but hold on to your hat. Two beers came to $46.51 plus tip. While the people behind the counter were awesome, the prices for concessions were over the top.

    Charging station was a lifesaver.

Arena #11 on my quest to watch the LA Kings play in all the NHL arenas. UBS is a newer arena and is really beautiful inside and out. Nice seats that aren't too cramped, lots of food options, and the in game entertainment is really fun and entertaining. Fans were awesome around us and very friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about their team. The arena gets really loud and creates such a fun atmosphere. The pre game activities outside in the park is also nice as they have some cornhole, hardest shot and accuracy games, food, and fire pits to stay warm. My phone was dying and they had a free charging station, it was on the 100 level by section 116, I believe. You type in a code and it locks your phone in a little locker and lets you type in the code and open it up when you're ready. Really awesome that it's free and you can feel comfortable that it will be there if you walk away from it. Getting in and out is pretty simple. Looks like a lot of people take the train, so it is a pretty long walk to the station from the arena, but once you get to the station, it is pretty easy to get to whatever other station you want to go to. Not sure how this arena is for concerts or other sports, but for hockey, it was one of the better arenas I have gone to and was such a fun experience.

UBS Arena opened on November 2021. UBS Arena is located within Belmont Park on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont, NY, a historic park that has been visited by guests for entertainment for over a century. I've been to UBS Arena twice: one for a New York Islanders - Vancouver Canucks game on December 19, 2025 and another for Disney On Ice on January 17, 2026. Both times, I took the LIRR to and from UBS Arena. There are free shuttles available between UBS Arena and Elmont-UBS Arena Station. The first time, there was a long line waiting for the shuttle so I just walked back and forth. The second time, I took the shuttle there. The walk is about 15 minutes and could be longer if there are a lot of people walking. After getting to UBS Arena, there are security checks for bags no larger than 12" x 12" x 6" and then your tickets are checked. The lines move seamlessly. There are signs and staff everywhere to ask for assistance. The first time I went to a Jetblue Mosaic Suite and the second time was in the DIME club section. The suite was a really nice experience and it had a separate entrance right to the arena, includes front row tickets, and cocktail bar and bartender service. The DIME Club had great seats and has an 11,000 square foot space with views of the bowl from the bar. There were private restrooms in both sections. The venue is very spacious and clean. During the hockey game, there is a puck-in-play policy where guests are required to refrain from accessing their seats while the ball or puck is in play. I enjoyed visiting UBS Arena and can't wait for my next visit.

I came here for Twice's concert (day 3)! This is my first time at this arena, it's really big. Usually would not be on my radar since it's a bit difficult to get to without a car and the LIRR + MTA combo would make the commute 1.5 hrs+ Luckily, I was able to get a ride there and back thanks to my lovely friends. I recommend getting buying parking spots earlier as the closer parking lots are sold out closer to the concert date. My friend could only get emerald parking which was about 15 min walk but they also provide a shuttle that comes occasionally (I don't know how frequent since we ended up walking). Parking is about $50. I'm not sure if there's any alternatives but I think if you don't mind walking further, you could park in residential for free. I really recommend trying to arrive early since there was so much traffic getting the venue and around the venue. We ended up arriving around 7:40pm. There's designated uber / Lyft drop off and pick up areas which was about a couple minutes walk from the entrance. The venue itself is so big. There was a main entrance, a separate entrance for people with floor tickets, and also an Amex entrance. We got in through the Amex entrance which was quick, short line. Inside the venue, there were a lot of signs but honestly it was still kind of confusing. We asked a staff for directions and they were friendly! Most of the staff we interacted with were friendly. There's plenty of restrooms and they were clean. We noticed that no staff checked our tickets as we went to our section and seats. In our section, there was a lot of people walking in and out of the rows and up and down the aisle. It was quite annoying but didn't really see any staff (except once) come down and do anything about it. The 360 stage was amazing but honestly, even at 100s section, the stage still felt so far away. Having the giant screen was great though. TWICE had an amazing concert. Honestly, I thought the arena layout was great! I would come again.

Love UBS arena-especially section 115!!!! I've seen Daddy Yankee, Aventura. Section 115 all the way. Private bathroom and bar. Prices are ridiculously expensive but expected lol Drinks are good! Just take the LIRR to it. Best to avoid traffic. Oh and uber to get out lol The view is great from this area!

While the parking was difficult, the food is good and view is nice. This is the first time being a hockey game.

Fantastic experience! Entered through the American Express Entrance, and had access to their lounge (unknown to us prior). Clean, bright, spacious concourse with lots of Islanders history and photo ops. Isles Lab has some cool merch. Fun fan interaction. Lots of food options, including kosher with the best vanilla soft serve ( thanks Mr. Softee) and cool goalie helmets. The highlight: they won!!! * accessible via the LIRR with a shuttle from the station or a 10 minute walk

Why 5 stars? Because this might be the nicest arena I've ever been to. --- --- --- The middle night of 3 arenas in 3 days, UBS Arena ended up being, by far, the best in NYC. (In fairness, I have yet to visit the Prudential Center in New Jersey, sorry Jersey). But UBS puts MSG and Barclay's to shame, and I don't think it's even close. Literally every box was checked for me: -Amazing design. -Wide concourses. -Large variety of food options that wasn't just typical arena food. -Tons of character. -Unlimited team spirit/pride for the Islanders. -Very comfortable seats. -Great sightlines everywhere. I went to New York for two basketball games: Cavs @ Knicks on a Wednesday, Cavs @ Nets on a Friday. We didn't have any plans on Thursday night, and a couple days before the trip, we decided to buy tickets to the Islanders game. I was very "meh" on this idea, but we had nothing better to do, so onward we went. It turns out, I'm so glad we did this. I could not stop taking pictures as I walked around the concourse. Whoever designed this building absolutely knocked it out of the park. I'm really not sure why the reviews are so lackluster. Maybe it's mostly related to getting here, as you basically have to take public transit? Either way, it was easy enough for us to park at the Mineola station and take the LIRR one stop to the arena. Kudos to everyone involved in this facility. Every arena built for the next 10+ years should take notes on how to do it from UBS.

Love the hype, vibe, and staff. Favorite food item would almost definitely have to be the pretzels with cheese mmmm. I enjoy a ton of the events and can't forget three words LETS GO ISLANDERSSSS.

After visiting for brunch today, I'm excited to be able to update my review with a full five stars…read more- Swing the Teapot is officially one of my local favorites! I had the tea experience with Black Velvet and it was just what I needed. I'll admit that the licorice and peppermint were very faint, but it was still a tasty tea and sharing a large pot with my partner, we finished the whole thing. My MIL loved her ginger peach tea, and my friends each enjoyed theirs, one getting his go-to peppermint and the other trying the red raspberry and remarking in how pleased she was with her choice. Lesson learned- if you come here and DON'T get tea (with the adorable teapot, teacup and saucer, all charmingly mismatched) you're doing it wrong. Because I'm weird, I just ordered the Irish soda bread with a dish of whipped cream as a "light" breakfast, and I appreciated that the server humored me to the fullest. My partner had a blueberry muffin that he was super pleased with, probably his favorite that he's found in the area so far. My MIL unabashedly devoured her chicken salad sandwich and the potato salad it came with - usually she's picky so that's quite the endorsement. The avocado toast and burger that my friends ordered all looked fantastic too. Great service, delicious food and tea, and very good prices- next visit will be for the live music!

He said it in a nasty and sarcastic tone the way my father would talk down at me, sometimes. Regardless, if paying for the seltzer was required, I would happily pay; but the fact that this guy was disrespectful about it was unwarranted. He reminds me of my dysfunctional parents when they get in their freaking moods. He also told me that there was a two-drink policy when there's a live band and also told me that if more people are coming to the bar, he would have me move. Basically, he was being unwelcoming and wanted to tell me (but couldn't since he was on the job) "fuck you asshole, you're not welcome at the bar". He didn't actually say that but those were the vibes I got from him. That kind of rude impression from him was just unwarranted. Now, I don't know what made me tip him $6. Maybe I wanted to be the better person in that situation since he was being a total asshole..and maybe I don't want him breathing down my neck about the service. He's a real jerkoff. Next time he does that with me again, I'm not going to be nice about it. He was lucky I kept my cool and chose to remain respectful instead of sink to his dysfunctional level that would remind me of my dysfunctional parents (not to mention, my entire dysfunctional family). So this one really stuck with me in the worst way possible because of bad experiences with my family (which would make more sense). That guy needs to be very careful with how he treats people. He will come across somebody who will be a lot nastier and impatient than him and he will get absolute karma for his rude behavior. He has a job. Therefore, he needs to show some professionalism (I don't mind informalities from employees, as long as they're being friendly people). The waiter I had, Marian H, was more professional and pleasant with me than Rich, the bartender, on May 16th, 2026.

From the looks of it, the first two movie times of the day are considered matinee's which is awesome. Just because of that, I would make more visits to this theater for the movies I don't need a spectacular screen or seating for. The theater has street parking, but it's really not hard to find any because there is also residential areas right around the corner where you can park. The theater is a decent size. The food stand has a bunch of overpriced food an candy. The large popcorn is about $8, but you get A LOT of popcorn. I suggest sharing it with 4 people. The seats are comfortable and they have more than enough handicapped seating. The theaters aren't all that small, I would say a max of 50-60 per room. I would recommend.

It's very easy to miss due to its relatively small size and lack of a grand entrance and/or parking lot. For starters, it's a very small theatre that features around 6 screens. It's also pretty dated looking inside and without many modern touches from what I could see. We were in screening room #6 upstairs and it literally had 4 rows of seating on each side of the aisle and with around 8 seats per row. To say that the screen itself was small would be an understatement but it was okay considering the overall size of the room and how close you're seated to the screen. Luckily there were only around 6-8 other people in there so we didn't feel to claustrophobic. The seats don't recline and they are pretty old too but they weren't terribly uncomfortable. The room in general had a lived in smell which wasn't a surprisebit not to unpleasant. I'm giving this place a generous 3 stars for two main reasons. One because we scored two tickets for $12 (before the convenience fee via Fandango.com). Secondly because they had a kids' combo at the concession stand which featured popcorn, a small packet of Welch's fruit chews, and a small icee, all for $7.50. I find that the typical movie popcorn and drink combo is too much and too pricy but this did the trick. Granted, we had eaten lunch and weren't starving, so this combo suitably carried my son over until dinner. Without these two highlights, I would probably have scored this place at maybe 2 stars. The young workers seemed pretty pleasant too so that's another plus. I wouldn't come here for a new release, action flick, or anything that requires a top notch screen/sound. If you want to bring your kids to a movie, would like a good deal and quietly enjoy a movie without the rush or fuss, this place will do the trick.

Attending the 2015 thanks to scoring a couple of free passes through Yelp (Thank you Drew and…read moreYelp!) was a great opportunity to sample what Long Island and the Northeast has to offer since the event had many breweries from these areas. We arrived for the second session (5:30pm start) at around 5:45pm and the line was moving quickly as they were checking bags and IDs. We received our tasting cups and we were on our way. Belmont is great space for this event with the vendors being laid out nicely and also, more importantly, plenty o' bathrooms! The signs say the 2oz pours are strictly enforced, but honestly it is not a big deal. There are so many samples to be had that a 2oz pour from all of them would probably give most people alcohol poisoning! There are a lot of great beers to sample here! I am not going to point out the beers I didn't like, but I will say in general there were a lot of flabby, overdone IPAs, which seems all breweries trying to stay on trend, but I prefer to see less common and different brews offered. I found a couple of aged in barrels brews interesting - One from Two Roads, out of CT, offered Contucky Lightnin', a sour mash ale aged in bourbon barrels, to impart a whiskey feel and complexity. From Scotland, Innis and Gunn had oak aged beer that went for a similar finish of smoothness along with vanilla, toffee and of course, oak. I appreciated what they were trying to do and the complexity of their lush samples. Handgrenades Homebrew Club, an amalgam of different home brew enthusiasts had some great samples on offer (I saw 8, I think), my favorite being "Uncle Joes Breakfast Stout" - A coffee stout: two great flavors that work amazing together. It would make for a perfect start of the day. Speaking of stouts, I found Bluepoint's Armchair to be the best milk stout I tried at the event - creamy, balanced and perfect flavor. Crooked Ladder from Riverhead, had a delicious Gypsy Red ale, although unfortunately named for the politically correct crowd. Spiked Seltzer had a low carb, 6%ABV flavored seltzer, which was interesting and helped to refresh my palate. I LOVE a RYE beer, but I found most vendors doing a RYE IPA, which did not work for me. I feel they just did not come together with the typical IPA flavor overpowering. Which leads me to my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE of the night, which was from SAND CITY BREWING CO. out of Northport. A small operation, whose brews are offered at their tasting room and a few local north shore restaurants. They had an AMAZING Rye pale ale called "Ryes N Tide" - I could have drank this all night long (I did try and they were amazingly generous with 3 samples for me!) the pale ale allows the flavor that rye provides to shine. Completely drinkable and refreshing. I have to get there and hope they have it on offer when I do! A couple of caveats: Eat before the event here since the food offerings are typical Belmont vendors (It would be nice to see some local food stands participate here). Also some of the smaller vendors ran out of brew half way through the 2nd session so if you are dead set on trying everything perhaps come down for the 1st and early session. As with any event with alcohol involved the night got sloppy as it went on, but most people were very cool. Excellent event, great venue, amazing beers, cool activities happening through out - This expo is well worth it! You will get access to so many vendor offerings that you will be sure to up your beer drinking knowledge!

The venue had about 30 or so breweries spread out in the back grandstand of Belmont Park; a very comfortable setting. Now let me get this out of the way; it was cold. It was North Pole cold. There I said it. The venue is a summer racetrack with lots and lots of doors to one of the better looking tracks in America; only Hollywood Park, Churchill Downs and Saratoga are more majestic. It is not made for fall or winter events. My wife and I made the best of the situation. We figured drink beer fast warm up. It work for a while, but still cold. We needed a "White Knight" to rescue this chilling experience. Low and behold there on the other side of the venue was Drew and The Yelp Team. Yay. Hooray we are save. The Yelp Team as always was ready with their goodies. Mini pretzels (yum) and texting gloves. Yes gloves. I must say that if one person came up to me, 20 people came up and said "dude where did you get those gloves". The wonderful pair of gloves were our life savior and allow us to continue on our quest of "beer consumption". Thank you Drew and Yelp Team. Now to the business of beer. I found the beer selection to be broken down to Long Island and New York State beers; popular brands and the International beers. While it was not a huge selection it had enough variety to satisfy any beer fan with multiply 2 oz samples. The popular brands where: Amstel, Heineken, Presidente, Modelo, Pacifico, Blue Moon, Dos Equis, Sapporo and a couple of others which slip my mind. The International brands where these I just mention and a few others that also slip my mind. I guess to many 2 oz pours. Now my favorites: Long Island beers. Over the summer, I had the opportunity to visit some of these breweries and I found them all to have a tasty product and awesome representation at their location. Port Jefferson Brewery had an IPA and an ALE that I really enjoyed. Both where tasty and I am sure that if you had a taste, you would be a fan, like me. The Pumpkin Seasonal, while others go crazy for this, me, I just pass. Not a fan of any Pumpkin Seasonal beers. The stout that they released at 2:30 PM for tasting, just did not cut it for me. I can't put my finger on it, maybe a little on the warm side or just not there. Sorry. Long Ireland Brewery was probably my favorite. All good and tasty. I had multiple samples here; IPA, Lager all good. Tasty. The Stout that was featured at 1:30 PM was delicious. Nice body with some chocolate tones at the finish. Very nice. I think these guys are doing something good here. Yay. I am not a fan of hard cider, but I had a hard cider from "Angry Orchard Hard Cider" that was delicious. Lots of apple flavor in the finish. Refreshing. Overall, excellent event. If you could move beyond the cold, it was a well run event. Lots of room and many tasty beers. While I would of like a more interactive experience with the staff of the brewery; it was not the end of the world that it did not happen. The crowd was well behaved with lots of security. No issues here. I then to go to these events a couple of times a year and I know what to expect. The International Great Beer Expo did not disappoint me at all. Tasted many beers, had fun and this is what beer is all about. Cheers.............
