Always welcoming Vicky! Sharing food next to the warm fireplace and taste of Winter lager, french onion soup, and perfectly grilled burger, Nancy's is truly a neighborhood gem. Prompt service and friendly staff complimented the memorable ambience. Cozy and shooshy shoosh.

Wonderful experience at Nancy's. The owner was so helpful and open to our ideas for our baby shower in her restaurant (November 2024). The food was tasty and prompt. Would definitely go there again. Environment was calm yet classy.

I just celebrate my baby's first birthday and Christening weeks ago. The owner of the restaurant Vicky is really helpful, she allowed us to come a bit earlier to decorate the place. It was my first time decorating and she gave us a couple of great suggestions. The staff were very warm and welcoming to all the guests. Food is really good. The place is great. I will definitely come back next year for any private events.

I must have driven past Nancy's thousand's of times and never noticed it. What a charming oasis it is once you enter. Dark wood, beamed ceilings and even a fireplace makes you feel right at home. We started with the potato and bacon soup which was luscious and tasty. The Country Salad with crispy goat cheese fritter, mixed greens, tomatoes, carrots, bacon, candied walnuts, roasted garlic vinaigrette was outstanding and addictive. For entrees, the Grilled Hangar steak with Mexican street corn and French fries was cooked and seasoned perfectly and delicious. Also opt'd for one of the specials which was pork chop with spaetzle which was another great dish. Do not skip dessert! The homemade bread pudding served with caramel and ice cream was unreal. It was decadent, not too sweet and something we couldn't stop eating. It was exceptional. I would defintley fine again at Nancy's since now I know what I've been missing all these years.

Unfortunately, I have to give a review on the food, which was horrible. I honestly hate giving two stars to a family owned restaurant. Maybe it can be looked into. The appetizers were better the main entrees, which is crazy. I had the burger, which had no flavor at all, the lettuce on the burger tasted unwashed, fries was excellent. The salmon my father had was too salty. My sister had the pulled pork risotto and had to give it back as it tasted like canned pork and the cheese from the risotto had a bad after taste. My mother had the veggie risotto but sent it back as well because it had a bad after taste. However, the service and wine were excellent. I'm not sure if the food is bad or the chef needs to put a little flavor in the food. My family was pretty displeased as it was my niece's birthday and wanted to try a different restaurant in my neighborhood. The restaurant has a cozy vibe which was nice! But I will not return for the food.

Food was all very good. Reservation held and table ready. Talkative crowd but not loud enough to yell LOL. Older woman server was a pistol. Helpful and friendly. Buffalo shrimp has too much breading but tasted good. Warm spinach salad was tasty but not warm. Hangar steak on sizzling platter was good BUT because it keeps cooking the meat the medium rare went medium. Next time I'll say rare. Pan roasted crispy Chicken was delicious. Home maybe tagliatelle was super! Al dente thought it would be mushy but was not. Grilled pork chop was HUGE. We laughed at how big it was. Asked for medium but was slightly dry. Flavor and veggies were good though. Hot brownie was Amazing. Bread pudding not so much. Decaf espresso martini was great as was my Irish coffee. Would return. Don't be put off by the non- description exterior. And parking is lousy. But manageable.

Hanger steak absolutely delicious.

This place was absolutely amazing . The bread they give you on the table with the dipping oil was delicious right there we knew dinner was going to be amazing. The apps to dinner for Easter Sunday couldn't have been better. We all enjoyed our dinners. We don't live in the area but we will definitely be back. The service was excellent as well.

I had my baby shower over at Nancy's over the weekend, and Vicky was amazing with helping us out and accommodating the venue to our needs, we had a total of 46 people so we ended up doing one long table of 32, and 2 tables of 6 but there was enough room for 3 tables of 6-8. The food was also amazing !! I received a bunch of messages from my family and friends after on how much they enjoyed the food, we got the whole restaurant to ourselves and she was very attentive and even offered to let us to come in early to decorate. Was an amazing four hours and super affordable especially compared to similar packages in the area couldn't beat it! Will definitely be recommending Nancy's for years to come :)

I enjoyed the food here. We sat down right away and the waiter was great. We had the homemade mozzarella sticks which were really homemade. I ordered the hanger steak. It was good. The drinks were great. Staff was friendly and attentive. Will be back soon.

Nancy's, is my go to eatery when I'm in Floral Park. The food is always on point and the prices are reasonable. Vicky, the owner is very attentive and chef David never disappoints.

the chicken dish. Pretty good in my opinion! The waiter recommended this.

When you write a Yelp review, 2 stars literally means "Meh. I've experienced better." In this case, that would be an understatement... but I know that if I ordered something else, and if my waiter had perhaps been more experienced, I likely would have given this restaurant either 3 or maybe 4 stars. Here's the thing... parking is limited on the streets, but the place itself is nice looking. I believe it's adequately staffed, even for a Saturday night. Maybe they can use a "busboy," but if they're not filling the place up, I understand why they would cut that position. I definitely like the atmosphere there. The men's bathroom has more than one urinal and two lovely, large sinks. I found the place to be clean, and the wait staff have a uniform of sorts, and they all had a nice demeanor about them. Bread rolls are served cold. The menus are cute, but a bit confusing (there are 2 pages, one a regular menu, and the other for specials where some of the regular dishes are repeated with slight variations). The waiter starts with a drink order. I got a glass of Riesling, and I was surprised to find that they even had it there. When it came, I was disappointed, as the taste was bittersweet, unlike the typical Riesling... normally my favorite wine. I asked if I could return it... the waiter obliged with no problem, and actually brought me a small sample amount of "sweet wine", since that's what I like, but a different brand. I didn't like that one either, and just asked for a ginger ale. When we placed the order for food, I asked for a salad to share with my wife (and an extra plate, of course), and the "Risotto / Maine Lobster (with corn and baby arugula)" for 16.95. I thought this was a pretty decent deal for a lobster! Still though, it was listed under Appetizers, and I asked if it's really an appetizer. The waiter, a very young guy, said that if I wanted to, I could get it as a main course. Great! After he walked away, I remembered that I really love the tomalley (that disgusting green stuff that's inside the breast of a freshly cooked lobster), so I ran over to him to ask him to be sure that it's left inside, and not discarded. Salad came. It was really, really good. I highly recommend the Arugula Salad if you come here. And not only did they bring the extra plate that I asked for, but they actually split up the salad and the goat cheese for us. It looked fresh and beautiful, and was a very large portion (if it was for one person, it could serve as an entree) and tasted great. I was only saddened by the news from our waiter that the chef cleans out the lobsters first thing in the morning, so there wouldn't be any tomalley to serve me. Then my Risotto / Maine Lobster arrived. You can check out the photo. I was like "OMG, they gave me the appetizer as a mistake." I asked the waiter just to be sure. "Nope...that's the Entree portion." It was a decent-sized blob of risotto, topped with about a dozen small chunks of lobster, probably equating to an entire lobster claw cut into 6 pieces, and 6 or so other smallish chunks from an arm. I was blown away... not impressed. Mind you... at no time did we discuss how I wanted it cooked (steamed or boiled or broiled), nor did it say "Whole Lobster" anywhere on the menu, and the word "whole" never came up in conversation. I was wondering if the waiter had ever seen this served before, as "cleaned in the morning" doesn't usually mean that it comes served as some smallish chunks from a whole lobster. This means that it was actually COOKED in the morning, then cleaned and probably cut... in the morning. Or maybe it was frozen, and heated as it's requested. I don't know... but man, was I disappointed. The risotto was good... it's not something I was expecting to be my Entree. I eat Risotto on the side... never as a main dish. My wife's mussels were OK. My dad was really happy with his whole wheat pasta dish. My mom got her Grilled Steak. Having asked for it "Medium" but receiving it fairly burnt (some pieces burnt to a complete crisp), she asked to return it. FYI, anything "blackened" can contribute to causing cancer. F-that. (I tried the steak. It was a shame to throw away. It had a nice flavor.) She got the chicken instead, and wasn't really thrilled with it. We skipped dessert. The check still showed the wine I returned, and while the waiter told me that my risotto/lobster would cost "no more than $24.95", I was charged 26.95. He gave me a bit of trouble about taking my Riesling off the check, as I "drank some." I pressed on about it, and he removed it from the check, and reduced the lobster to 24.95... but wow, what a rip off. That's the rub. It's not really a bad place, but I ordered the wrong thing, perhaps on the wrong day, and neither the menu or waiter were helpful in communicating to me what I'd be receiving. I hope you have a better experience.

Buffalo shrimp with blue cheese dressing - 09/12/2020

Really glad we came here to celebrate our anniversary - Great place to come to with professional service! Had a great meal - Goat cheese salad with shrimp - shrimp tasted great and so did the goat cheese - I gave most of my salad to my husband though it was doused in vinegar wasn't too much of a fan of that part - risotto was delicious and cooked to perfection! We each had a Negroni cocktail and no complaints there - their French fries were cooked to perfection - crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle - chicken fingers were a bit dry but edible - buffalo shrimp cocktail was devoured by husband - you can't go wrong ordering the brownie for dessert it was delicious :) my daughter liked the Creme Brûlée - I am glad they offer a separate dessert menu - very professional! Instead of announcing what the desserts are - Friendly service all around.

Housed in a landmark Floral Park building, this gem has a warm ambiance with low lighting, leather booths, and quiet background coffee-sleepy-jazz in the background (Though, as a fan, I wish they hadn't messed with the Sly and the Family Stone's "If You Want Me To Stay" :D). There is an inviting large bar, an open kitchen, and a large private room in the back. The menu is American classics made with premium ingredients. Although his place is known for their single malt whiskey, craft beer and signature cocktails, only one at our table had a cocktail: EZ Money made with gin, prosecco, lemon, cucumber and St- Germain Elderflower Liqueur. I will look at their wine list next visit. As for the food, the garlic bread and calamari did not disappoint. Our table ordered a variety of dishes. A unique rotisserie chicken salad sandwich, a salmon bowl, and an order of mussels. Each dish was a win. I chose a great mesclun green salad and had to try the double smash burger, a mouth-watering proprietary blend of prime chuck, brisket and short rib which I'd have to talk myself out of not re ordering with my next visit. From family gatherings and office parties to intimate date nights, The Harrison offers an ambiance and menu designed to satisfy both the casual diner and the most discerning palate.

After visiting for brunch today, I'm excited to be able to update my review with a full five stars…read more- Swing the Teapot is officially one of my local favorites! I had the tea experience with Black Velvet and it was just what I needed. I'll admit that the licorice and peppermint were very faint, but it was still a tasty tea and sharing a large pot with my partner, we finished the whole thing. My MIL loved her ginger peach tea, and my friends each enjoyed theirs, one getting his go-to peppermint and the other trying the red raspberry and remarking in how pleased she was with her choice. Lesson learned- if you come here and DON'T get tea (with the adorable teapot, teacup and saucer, all charmingly mismatched) you're doing it wrong. Because I'm weird, I just ordered the Irish soda bread with a dish of whipped cream as a "light" breakfast, and I appreciated that the server humored me to the fullest. My partner had a blueberry muffin that he was super pleased with, probably his favorite that he's found in the area so far. My MIL unabashedly devoured her chicken salad sandwich and the potato salad it came with - usually she's picky so that's quite the endorsement. The avocado toast and burger that my friends ordered all looked fantastic too. Great service, delicious food and tea, and very good prices- next visit will be for the live music!

The bartender, Rich, on 05/16/26 was being a nasty, rude, and not to mention, snarky toward me…read morewhen he said to me that I have to pay for the seltzer. He said it in a nasty and sarcastic tone the way my father would talk down at me, sometimes. Regardless, if paying for the seltzer was required, I would happily pay; but the fact that this guy was disrespectful about it was unwarranted. He reminds me of my dysfunctional parents when they get in their freaking moods. He also told me that there was a two-drink policy when there's a live band and also told me that if more people are coming to the bar, he would have me move. Basically, he was being unwelcoming and wanted to tell me (but couldn't since he was on the job) "fuck you asshole, you're not welcome at the bar". He didn't actually say that but those were the vibes I got from him. That kind of rude impression from him was just unwarranted. Now, I don't know what made me tip him $6. Maybe I wanted to be the better person in that situation since he was being a total asshole..and maybe I don't want him breathing down my neck about the service. He's a real jerkoff. Next time he does that with me again, I'm not going to be nice about it. He was lucky I kept my cool and chose to remain respectful instead of sink to his dysfunctional level that would remind me of my dysfunctional parents (not to mention, my entire dysfunctional family). So this one really stuck with me in the worst way possible because of bad experiences with my family (which would make more sense). That guy needs to be very careful with how he treats people. He will come across somebody who will be a lot nastier and impatient than him and he will get absolute karma for his rude behavior. He has a job. Therefore, he needs to show some professionalism (I don't mind informalities from employees, as long as they're being friendly people). The waiter I had, Marian H, was more professional and pleasant with me than Rich, the bartender, on May 16th, 2026.

Most of what came out of the kitchen was diner quality at best--nothing special, but not offensive. The duck, however, was a disaster. It tasted old and stale, like it had been sitting in a freezer for months before being rushed through a fryer. The meat was fried to a dry, brittle crisp, and the only flavor came from a cloying sweet duck sauce slapped on top. No richness, no tenderness, no redeeming qualities. We absolutely hated our meal and the entire time we spent there. I can't recommend this place to anyone who actually cares about what they eat.
