5/12 On May 9th, I saw Trotters bar during my scrolling session on the app. On May 12th I contacted my plus one and asked them to yelp up a good place to go. she came up with two places and Trotters was one and it made the list by unanimous decision. Finding the huge parking lot in the back was very convenient but I should have walked to the front to avoid the stairs in the rear entrance. We made it inside to find that it greatly resembles a sports bar, with one hundred and one televisions plastered on the wall. Seriously, 100 televisions was enough, that one extra television was the one Domino that set everything in motion. I was so fascinated and trying to watch every television set in sequence. I needed a horses blinder in order to restrict my vision to focus on one televisions. Besides all of that, Trotters has a lively, upbeat atmosphere yet it did provide a touch of romance if you could focus. Santiago was our waiter. Very poised and possessing self-assuredness. Santiago provide exceptional customer service in all areas. His side kick assisted us as well with such professionalism. FOOD* Apps- spinach artichoke dip with corn chips. Blackened chicken platter w rice & broccoli. Chicken parmigiana penne. Lava cake Hot Tea The appetizer was very delicious and offered a desirable taste and the chips were not greasy. I received a generous portion of food that provide a meal for the next day. The blackened chicken was very good and tasty, if I would recommend a dish, this would be it. The broccoli was crisp with the rice as an excellent culinary paring.the lava cake was different. I was thinking it was going to be a hot lava cake but is was good regardless! Went to dinner at Trotters Bar & Restaurant with my plus one and had a really great experience. The place was very clean, the staff was truly friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious. I had the chicken parm with pasta and it was excellent so flavorful, fresh, and a great portion size. Also, appetizers and the dessert was delicious as well. Our experience was terrible. So let's start with walking in the back door! The parking lot was dirty... honestly? Have your team clean the lot if your landlord doesn't... The back door area was dirty and the lighting was too dim and not handicap friendly. After getting seated the server wasn't that polite and we had to ask about special and happy hour deals... The staff needs training... Some of the food came out cold and the server wasn't very attentive... asking for extra napkins was displeasing and we had to wait for drinks... So we sat at the bar for a drink before we left and it wasn't busy but the staff was pretty just socializing amongst each other and we had to flag someone down for service... music was playing but no juke box? we also viewed a staff member cursing at a young woman at the bar!?!?!? hopefully that guy is no longer employed there and that young lady is ok... I have been here twice and both times I had an amazing time! The food here is great! I have had the brisket sandwich, the steak tidbit sandwich and the French dip sandwich, all comes with French fried that are so deliciously yummy as well. Our local watering hole. Don't let the appearance inside fool you, this place has been around forever for a reason. The food, for bar food, is really good and I never have had an issue with service ever. Everyone has been attentive and really welcoming. ordered a meal for my wife and son via phone.. (My son was going to pick it up after he got out of the gym).. was told the item my son wanted was no longer on the menu.. texted my son that the item was unavailable would he want something else. He didnt read the text until 10 minutes after he got to the restaurant sitting at the bar waiting for the order. And the server who took the payment never bothered to tell him that the unavailable item was UNAVAILABLE. When they handed him the order and he saw it was only one item in the bag. My son said to the manager "my dad texted me that you dont have the item I wanted .. whats going on?" The manager or perhaps owner (female) said the item was "no longer on their menu". My son told her he looked at their menu on their website and it was "ON THE MENU" The server chimed in and said "I thought we weren't making that item anymore" The manager said "its not on the menu anymore but we can still make it for you" (that makes a lot of sense).... after he'd already been sitting there for 15 minutes... The Bacon Cheeseburger Wrap is STILL on your website's menu Trotters. My son to say the least wasnt Happy.. He was looking forward to what he ordered but wasnt waiting another 15 minutes. This place needs to employ staff who know what they are doing and know what IS and ISNT on the menu... And no one followed up with a phone call to try and appease the situation. Truly a sports bar. Something like 20 flat screens beautifully mounted so you can see the one you want from just about anywhere. Bar is nice and comfortable, seats plenty, hi tops in the bar area. A sort of separation with the dining area, but you should still be able to see your game from there. No complaints with respect to service, food, comfort, atmosphere. Bathrooms were clean and parking is available in a private lot. There's a nice little covered smoking deck at the rear entrance, too. My husband had the half rack ribs which he enjoyed, and I had a BLT which was well-filled, tasty, and just the right size. Sports bars aren't really my thing, but, if the need arose I wouldn't hesitate to choose Trotters. read more

Found this gem a few months back during the pandemic..passed by it a number of times and never went in until one day I said we are trying this place and all I have to say is wow!!! From the appetizers, main courses, specials, burgers everything has been delicious! We go like 3 times a week if not more and I am working my way through their menu which has quite a bit on it lol...I can eat the food over and over again. The staff is so welcoming and so sweet..love Helen and Georgi! the bartenders are on point. We go mostly on Wednesday nights Saturday or Sundays nights when our fav bartender is there Nick lol...but all the bartenders are great! They also keep the place very clean and the bathrooms as well. I am going to start taking more pics of their food and adding it to my review. So far here is the delicious Philly cheese steak I had and ate it all just like all the other food I eat at trotters. I never finish my food but here I do lol. As busy as they could get, the food comes out pretty quick that is a big plus too but I also do not mind waiting if i have to for the food, it is worth it to me. Also it is Close to home! Love!!! This was my first time at Trotters. We came pretty late in the evening. Maybe an hour before closing. The bartender informed us that the kitchen had just closed when we arrived. I was a little disappointed as I was hungry and looking forward to trying their food but definitely no one's fault. Bartender seemed nice enough. She was familiar with my honey as he has been there several times. I found my margarita mediocre. Had to ask for another shot to add to it. The crowd was not diverse at all I will say that. But if definitely give Trotters another try on a different night to try the drinks again and hopefully the food options. read more

We really like trotters and the live music is always a bonus. The food is fine and the atmosphere is a lot of fun.

I really believe Franklin Square to be the Long Island capital of pub/sports bar/grill type places - I can think of at least 6 off the top of my head. I would say Trotters is one of the better ones around. We stopped in for late lunch on "Football" sunday where there was a bunch of games on all the TVs in here and the most of the patrons dressed in football jerseys. We were seated at a comfortable high top. My wife had the BLT and she really enjoyed it - it was packed, very generously, with bacony goodness. I went with the fish tacos and found them to be decent. Before I ordered I asked if they came with any sides - the server said no, that I wouldn't need them. He was wrong because I could have used a little something to compliment them. Also at $15 bucks for 3 I felt they were a bit pricey for tacos only. The flavor was good, but the fish was lacking in what I was served. They had some sunday specials - inexpensive beer and sandwich combos that looked good so you can get a deal here. The service is also very good and friendly - no complaints there. The decor is nice and clean - typical, classic wood grain throughout. I would come back, but probably order something else. read more

Cute little bar/restaurant in Franklin Square. I was recently here for a baby shower in the private room. Room was large enough to accommodate our group but too small for anything over 30 or so people. Food was absolutely delicious. We had the baked ziti, chicken parm, and steak. Our wait staff was great and made sure everyone had what we they needed the entire time we were there. The actual restaurant area looked small and this appears to be more of a bar than anything else, however, the food is a reason to go back. Drinks are strong. There was no music playing in the private room but unsure if that's what the planner requested or not. Bathrooms are tiny and one stall in the ladies room is missing a hook but hey they're clean. Just had my 50th Anniversary party there this weekend and it was absolutely perfect. The food and service were great. The party room is very pretty. We went back the next day to pick up something we had left behind and had dinner there again. Another perfect meal. Portions were so generous we have wonderful leftovers. I have been a fan of this place for a while but tonight was really disappointing! We had a 7 pm reservation and by 8:35pm we still have not been served. we have had our waitress before. She is terrible!!!! She pushes the specials and tells us "its Saturday night don't worry about the prices" or "don't you want a special?" when we don't order one. Tonight was extreme. We waited so long for any attention. Service was really bad. My brother and his girlfriend will not come back here! If my brother gets the same waitress he will leave and his girlfriend is just not coming back at all. We have really liked this place but tonight was a huge disappointment and it seems to be a lot on the waitress. The other tables were paid attention to, but we needed to track down our waitress (helen) for water and drinks and didnt get served.. and then i waited 1 hour 35 minutes and paid $25 for a very bland meal. Came her for a surprise brunch party and I must say, I was very impressed! This is a bar, but they have a nice party room in the back that looks nothing like a bar. Service was great as they took drink orders before the guest of honor arrived. Shortly after, the buffet was setup. They had staff to serve each of the stations and the food was actually pretty good! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE E V E R ! IF I COULD GIVE THEM 0 STARS.....I WOULD! THE MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH FOOD DELIVERY IN MY LIFE! I clearly indicated on the online ordering form to NOT put cheese. and I even CALLED IN to make sure they understood my directions and to state I CANNOT have cheese..... WHAT HAPPENS!?! I get CHEESE smothered ALL over my order. granted they were gracious and apologetic and replaced it with the correct order. HOWEVER waiting an EXTRA 15 minutes wasn't in the game plan and as a consumer I shouldn't have to wait for food while the rest of my food waits in the kitchen getting EXTREMELY COLD and further and further from optimal freshness. but it doesn't stop there. gave them a second chance. ordered the SAME exact items. 1. they over charged me for extras that they did NOT charge me for in the prior order. 2. they claim they were charging me $2 for an extra bbq sauce and honey mustard. NO EXTRA BBQ SAUCE! NONE 3. they charged me for substituting cheese for eggs. when I received the sandwich I was NOT given the kind of eggs I specified. Really cool spot on Hempstead Tpk. Bright and roomy interior with a boatload of TVs all around, esp. over the bar area. Choose from bar seating, regular tables, or high top table. Staff are friendly and the menu has a lot to choose from. The nachos (we subbed in grilled chicken for the chilli) and my BBQ burger were both exceptional. The nachos were generously portioned with loads of cheese melted to perfection. The burger was cooked to a proper medium and had a lot of flavor. On Saturday nights they have a band playing starting around 9pm (which you may not be a fan of if you're trying to have a conversation at your table). Be prepared to hunt for parking. We tried for at least 10 minutes to find a spot out back and finally got lucky as a metered spot opened up just across the street on Hempstead Tpk.
