Let me start this review by saying I COME FOR THE WINGS! They make it right every time. I go looking for wings elsewhere and always come right back to Charlie Meany's. The saucing is perfect and there's so many choices. When I ask for extra crispy they cook it just how I like. This time we got the honey garlic (not my favorite, but still good I think this is just a preference thing) and we got the hot buffalo (not that spicy but I can handle spice). The ranch and blue cheese are sooooo yummy! They're not cheap with the serving, it comes in a nice sized container for dipping. Also comes with a few veggies, would need to order more if you like a good amount of veggies. We ordered the salad which was good but I took off one star because it was severely overdressed so made it hard to finish. Next time I'll order it on the side. Can't wait to go back! read more

I have been on the look for local eats and anytime family comes into town it's a excuse to explore. Charlie Meaney's was exactly what I look for in a local place to grab some good food and take in the local flavor. This was a very normal looking pub from im the outside but when I walked it it felt like I was part of the crowd. Friendly faces said hello as I walked in, lots of energy, people talking, folks happy it was Friday and work was over. Bartender took our drinks and food order and within 10 minutes I was feasting. My cousin ordered the snack wings and side of waffle fries. He enjoyed them as nothing but bones remained and the waffle fries were piping hot and crispy. Made for a delicious snack to share. My stuffed Terry melt was BIG. It was packed with fried chicken, bacon, melted mozzarella and the bread was so toasty. It paired nicely with the gravy. Onion rings were also delicious. The price was great for what we had and the atmosphere warrants a return visit during a game. Great looking menu give it a try. 5/5 stars! read more

I love, love, love Charlie Meaney's. A KJ (Karaoke DJ) friend of mine Dave, recently got a karaoke gig here for Saturday nights. I've gone with my boyfriend's mom a few times. I actually get along with her we are like two peas in a pod sometimes. The atmosphere for now I don't know how it will be in the winter is so much fun. Dave sets up karaoke outside, I guess in the winter they'll let him in maybe. The lights outside, the fun that karaoke brings at times, the good company of people I know through karaoke, it all feels like magic at charlie meaney's. I don't drink, my standard has become to order the mexi-cali nachos without chili. They are so delicious. Cheesy, crispy, fun to dip in sour cream and salsa like munching on a crunchy, deconstructed quesadilla. I'm not putting visit dates because I've gone a few times and will be back again. I wish I didn't have to post this; I feel like this is needed. The restrooms in this place should be condemned by the dept of health! Two stalls one usually out of service, foul odor, puddles of water on the floor, leaky ceiling.... This place makes a ton of money, especially in the spring and summertime. Close down for a few days and upgrade the bathrooms. It's literally a health hazard. What bothers me the most is if the bathrooms are this filthy imagine what the kitchen must look like. You can see the bathrooms you can't see the kitchen. Shame because I definitely loved going here but for the cleanliness to be so bad I felt compelled to write this lengthy review and yes I will be contacting the dept of health is so disgusting. The chefs hands are be blessed. I ordered a fish sub with onion rings. Omg! The fish was delicious, bursting with flavors. The sandwich is made with sesame seed Italian bread. To my pleasant surprise, the sesame seeds add to the flavor! Who would've thought! The middle of the bread is scooped out which turns it into a shell whose sole purpose is to protect and present its flavorful cruchy finger licking contents. I'm glad to see local business still open during the pandemic. It takes a lot of work to survive as a business. Plus, the food is good, so I want to support them. However, even with a take-out order, I have to step inside for a pickup. Within 2 seconds of opening the main door, I'm am met with a darkened area, and a deluge of people, crowded around each other, with either no masks, or with their masks on their chins. I had to navigate through the crowded area to get to the pickup area in the back. Scanning the room, half of it is not being used, with chairs on tables. Everyone is in one area, as opposed to being physically distanced across the entire space. It was a bit unnerving to stand there, and try to figure out how to edit without moving through that crowd again. Recommendations: - pickup / take out area should be towards the front of the bar, not in the back. - the area in front of the door should be kept clear for easy entrance and exit. - masks should be worn properly by the staff - patrons should be utilizing the entire interior space, not sitting, drinking and eating, less than six feet from another group of people. read more

I've been to Charlie Meaney ' s on a few occasions for a few beers and meetups. It's the local Pub that dishes out a craft selection of wings and burgers. This spot reminds me of Cheers where everybody knows your name. Plenty of regulars watching the sports games and being rowdy. The bartenders and staff are friendly and accomodating. There isn't too much ambiance for a pub but this place gets the job done. There's ample parking in the large lot and dining seating as well as bar stoolnseatingstool seating. Monday Night is 25 Cent Wing night and my best advice is to get there before 10:00p.m. The kitchen closes early. The Honey BBQ wings and garlic parmesan are very good. The service is always good. There is alot of parking outside due to it being in a small shopping plaza. During important games they will be full. We visited Charlie Meaney's Saturday night to enjoy some outdoor patio Karaoke and Pub Grub. While the entertainment was fun, the food or service wasn't particularly good. I don't know why I was asked how I like my burger, because it came out well done. Bacon was beyond crispy...it was almost Pretzel like ... just completely dried out and crumbled up. The chicken wings which are supposed to be this place's specialty were DRY! I mean like Sahara Desert DRY. Very overcooked. My home cooked oven baked wings are 100 times better. Solid old school neighborhood bar with above average food in Valley Stream. Burgers, Quesadillas, Fries, wings are all great. My favorite are the Franks Sweet Chili Wings and blue cheese which has a great chunk to creamy blue cheese ratio! Only reason why it is not a 5 star experience is ordering take out is difficult.
