Instead, how about a few games, a pool table, maybe a live band, and a bar with a little flare for the irritated gnome in us all.

Located in the heart of Garden City, the Rose Room is easily accessible and offers ample parking. Like so many years past, my colleagues and I are always on the hunt for that special place and experience that will elevate our holiday dinner outing. I was so pleased that The Rose Room was selected. As mentioned, the elegance and ambiance of the restaurant are pitch-perfect. The hostess, wait staff, and management all delivered top-notch service. The food was spectacular. I especially enjoyed the bacon maple stripe. My colleagues and I devoured them in seconds. I can't say enough good things about The Rose Room. That said, I am looking forward to my next visit. I would recommend adding The Rose Room to this holiday's restaurant rotation.

It's as described by others... if you're staying on site, it's worth checking out but I wouldn't make a special trip for it. We were starving and glad to see some apps on the menu, however, nothing super appealing after you've had a few drinks. We got the shrimp cocktail (3 pieces) and a small charcuterie board. Together this was over $50 before tip and overpriced. I think options are limited because they don't have a kitchen nearby.

Definitely going to come back to partayyyyy! :) But tonight was all about the dining area to have some yummy dinner, as you see in one of the videos. Our waiter Catherine was super attentive and gave great recommendations. For starters, it was the stuffed mushrooms (which was stuffed w/ shrimp & crabmeat topped w/ a butter garlic lemon sauce) and the shrimp cocktail (only 4 pieces). Drink order: *SMORES MARTINI- WHIPPED CREAM VODKA, CRÉME DE CACAO, IRISH CREAM & A TOASTED MARSHMALLOW *FALL SANGRIA- RED WINE, GRAND MARINER APPLE CIDER, FRESH ORANGE, SODA For dinner a shareable Chicken Parmesan ala Vodka and a french onion soup. Lastly, a shareable rainbow cake with a side of whipped cream. Everything was unbelievable! Thank you for an amazing night!

If I knew I would have ordered a martini from the happy hour menu. I ordered a few espresso martinis which wasn't under the $10 martini happy hour deal. It was a very good espresso martini. I also ordered a few appetizers, again I wasn't aware of the happy hour on weekends so the chicken parm sliders were $10 for happy hour, the meatballs weren't. Both appetizers were very good. I wasn't looking for a whole meal as I was going to a show at UBS and knew I couldn't bring leftovers to the arena, so I will get back soon to try more. The seats at the bar are very comfortable, but they are low seats so it may take a couple of drinks to make it feel like you don't need a booster seat. They're open late night as well which is great.

This place is beautiful and perfect for pretty much any occasion. The first time I brought my sister here for her bday dinner and every dish was absolutely outstanding. The service although it was busy Friday night was also excellent. Our drinks? The smokin gun and spicy margarita were perhaps some of the best drinks we've had in a long time. The minute we left we decided we had to come back again for some drinks and apps. Fast forward to a Thursday night we saw they had a late night happy hour so we decided to give it a try! This is where it all went downhill and I debated on writing this review because I honesty believe in giving businesses sort of a pass for a rough day or just because and you never know know what someone is going through but I was clearly so bothered that I am still thinking about it and I feel like it's only right that the owner should know. We arrived for the late night happy hour and 4 seats happen to be available at the end of the bar. The female bartender proceeded to place menus right in front of us without saying a word. I smiled, kinda hinting hello and when I tell you I just got a blank stare, at first I was confused but again (it's late, it's thursday, people have struggles, be compassionate and move on) Fast forward we order some food, she places mats and utensil in front of us and again nothing, not a word. It was also as if she was annoyed at us for being there. At one point I was speaking Spanish with one of my girlfriends and I noticed she finally looked at us and smiled. I'm unsure what that was about but I was happy to see her smile for once. Finally I noticed a couple came in and went straight to the bartender and right away I noticed her tone and demeanor changed, she was much happier to see them. So I guess she had a decent day after all. The couple and the bartender kinda pointed towards us as if we had taken their seats. This is all happening right in front of my eyes. Now listen, I'm an expert on picking up cues and noticing things around me. It's pretty much what I do for a living. The couple then sat against the wall behind and we could just feel that we just weren't wanted there that night. The vibe and energy felt really off and when I tell you this was perhaps one of the worse customer services experiences I've ever had in this type of establishment, I am not lying. It felt very dismissive and unwelcoming without even saying anything. I'm really disappointed because Ive been bragging to all my friends about this place and really looked forward to the same experience I had previously but this wasn't the case. I'm not sure of if I will be back, but I do hope the managers and owners here give their staff better training on how to treat customers. A simple hello, a smile, and being kind goes a long way not only in the business word but in life.

Some of the breweries on tap at the time included Oxbow, Drowned Lands, Threes, and Monkish. Interest cocktail menu. Solid selection of whiskeys too. We picked up a large takeout order. Everything was packed neatly and there were no errors. I had the fried chicken sandwich came with potato poppers. Came with pickles and aioli on a brioche bun. Pricey at $21. Chicken was crispy and juicy. It traveled fairly well on our 10 minute trip from the restaurant. I also tried the periogies as well as the stuffed pepper and fries which came with a couple different entrees. All in all, definitely a tier above nearly all tavern food. Staff was very personable and accommodating while we waited for our order. Modern yet cozy atmosphere. Sleek bar with a huge counter. Large communal table by the bar. Good spot for groups of nearly any size.

Housed in a landmark Floral Park building, this gem has a warm ambiance with low lighting, leather booths, and quiet background coffee-sleepy-jazz in the background (Though, as a fan, I wish they hadn't messed with the Sly and the Family Stone's "If You Want Me To Stay" :D). There is an inviting large bar, an open kitchen, and a large private room in the back. The menu is American classics made with premium ingredients. Although his place is known for their single malt whiskey, craft beer and signature cocktails, only one at our table had a cocktail: EZ Money made with gin, prosecco, lemon, cucumber and St- Germain Elderflower Liqueur. I will look at their wine list next visit. As for the food, the garlic bread and calamari did not disappoint. Our table ordered a variety of dishes. A unique rotisserie chicken salad sandwich, a salmon bowl, and an order of mussels. Each dish was a win. I chose a great mesclun green salad and had to try the double smash burger, a mouth-watering proprietary blend of prime chuck, brisket and short rib which I'd have to talk myself out of not re ordering with my next visit.
