Still my absolute favorite Dominican restaurant and truly one of the best places to eat, period. They serve the best flan I've ever had anywhere. Even though I don't live in the area anymore, I always make a special trip back to La Brisa Dominican Restaurant because the food is just that good. The rice and beans are perfectly seasoned, with fluffy rice and rich, flavorful beans that taste homemade every time. The bistec is juicy and well-marinated, but the real star for me is the liver. It's the best liver ever, tender and full of flavor, cooked to perfection with onions and green peppers that add a sweet, savory aroma. Every bite is juicy, rich, and absolutely delicious. Their coffee is bold and smooth, the perfect finish to a meal. And the flan? Still unbeatable and sooooo creamy, silky, and perfectly sweet. My son loves their soup of the day which is hearty, comforting, and packed with flavor carrots ,potato , yuca and meat . The prices are still fair, which is rare these days, and the quality has never slipped. They even bring out a complimentary salad with your meal, a thoughtful touch that makes the experience even better. La Brisa feels like home, with warm service and food made with love. They were definitely busy but still took the time to pop holes in the to-go containers for the tostones so they didn't get soggy sitting in their box for a bit. Passed by this past Sunday evening around 9:30 pm. It was pretty busy for a Sunday evening. Much warmer than expected for a restaurant but comfortable. Adorable decor and very inviting. I am giving 5 stars for the ambience, the service, the appearance if the dishes and for the great experience. I didn't taste the food because I wasn't hungry but everyone else I was with were regulars. We were each treated like family with huge smiles, quick service and attention you could only wish for. The plates seemed authentic, filling and came out pretty quickly after ordering. Definitely will return to try the food. Finally, I bring to the waitress's (Blanca) attention the hair in my food. She snatched the napkin and plates quickly and responds in Spanish, "That is YOUR hair! There is no hair in our food." This was extremely offensive and beyond poor customer service. No manager was on the floor. We asked for the check and another waitress brought it. I refused to pay for the food containing the hair and also expressed to her my disappointment and dissatisfaction with Blanca's handling of the situation. Therefore, we refused to pay for the food that contained the hair. She tried to apologize for the situation, which was very kind of her. I responded by letting her know that this was not her fault. Last week I was in the mood to get some warm comfort food and I saw the reviews for La Brisa. I dragged my bf to a late dinner with me (around 11:30pm). The area was a bit sketchy but the food was worth it. The waitresses were all super nice and I loved the music playing in the background. The place was empty that late at night but it seems like the family that owns it were all there just enjoying themselves, eating and watching soap operas. My companion had the bbq chicken and ribs with rice and beans while I ordered the pork mofongo. This was what I was after. amazing! heavy winter comfort food. I loved the food and the atmosphere. I couldn't finish my order (which is a feat) and warmed up the leftovers next morning with pancakes and a sunnyside egg on the side. still delicious even the next day! For dessert we had an order of flan. I was getting excited because flan is one of my favorite desserts but I tend to be disappointed by restaurant flans. I was not disappointed by this one. It is firmer and creamier than I am used to but omg it was pure heaven. Ate here a couple of times but this last time got me. I had the garlic shrimp which they call "Camarones al ajillo." Holy Moly. That was BEYOND delicious. Perfect seasoning. Just perfect. I have been here on two separate occasions with friends and was not disappointed. I had the BBQ chicken one time, and the steak with onions another time. They were both delicious and fresh along with the rice, red beans and the plantains. My friends enjoyed there entrees very much as well They do a great job on presentation and the restaurant is very welcoming with good decor. We came to this dominican spot after it was recommended by a cousin of ours, another cousin just arrived from Central America and we wanted to show her around the area and bring her to beautiful Corona, a trip to NY its not a good trip without coming to the hood. Alright for starters lets begin with the positive, place was big enough to cater to all 10 of us and they allowed me to get a table with the kids while my party found parking, big plus as most places wont allow it. Ladies working there are very friendly and they seem to enjoy working there, which equals to good customer service. My low rating its on the food, now keep in mind I enjoy almost any food, i find everything tasty and my taste buds are easy to satisfied, my family ordered bistec encebollado, bisctec con pimiento, pescado encebollado, tostones y maduro. I had a lil bit of everything and nothing had flavor, it was bland. Even the rice and beans. Now i'm a regular at a different dominican spot and they blow this spot out of the water. Despite being located in a heavily congested area, I love making my way over here. Love their chicken asopao, I always get it with avocado. Their garlic shrimp is pretty good too but a little on the salty side. When I get a pork dish I opt to get the grilled pork with onions rather than the fried pork. Their margaritas are also very strong and their sangria is good. Definitely recommend the tres leches cake or the chocolate mousse cake for dessert. read more

I mean they are really generous with the food and if you know me I'm a fatty I tried from everyone around me as per usual and it was all good in the neighborhood . I recommend the churrasco, chicharones de pollo, the fish en salsa criolla or de vino (whichever fish choice), and the shrimps in any sauce as well! The service is great too, we came last minute with no reservations and they accommodated us without hesitation. There were at least 15 of us too! I'd rate this 0 stars if it were possible. Ive eaten here about 3 times total in the past 2 years. First time at La Brisa was mediocre, the following two occasions were total fails. The food lacks flavor and quality. It tastes watered down and is served warm or cold for the most part. Ive had at least 3 different dishes here and they all tasted like nothing. If you know Dominican food then you know it packs a punch when it comes to flavor. The "morir sonando"(a signature Dominican drink) was watered down, frothy and tasted more like milk than anything else. It had no hint of the citrus/orange flavor that plays a role in bringing this beverage to life. The service here is anything but service. Oh and the music on a Friday night I went there was obnoxiously loud to the point that at least 3 different people asked the d.j. to lower the volume. And one of the speakers had the blown out/static noise to make matters worse. Noise level was not healthy in there. CONCLUSION: La Brisa does not serve Dominican food. They may have Dominican waiters and music but the food is something else. Please save yourself from the bad experience of unacceptable food, bad service and ridiculous noise levels. It's a shame this restaurant claims to serve Dominican food. It's a total misrepresentation of D.R.'s food and it's great/hospitable people. Epic fail. read more

Stay away from this place!! The manager tries to cheat the customer. I called the restaurant to ask what comes with the T-bone steak and was quoted $19.60, which was a different price as advertised on their site as $17 Which still wasn't a problem, I informed the lady I would call back in a few minutes with the complete order. I called back placed the order with the same lady and she says she told me the wrong price and it's $24.95. I told her your site says $17. Then the manager gets on and says that's the price and she quoted you the price of steak and onions, which on the site says $12.50 and that the site is wrong. So I guess their site is wrong for a lot of things. I mentioned from a customer service stand point you should honor the price given or compromise since it's not my fault that it has the wrong price, he then states oh we change the price everyday. I was looking for a great Dominican restaurant while I was in queens visiting clients and saw that La Brisa had great yelp reviews. The Mofongo had outstanding reviews so that's what I ordered. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed with the portion and was still a little hungry after i cleaned every trace of it from the plate. In my opinion I also thought it could have used a little more garlic also. A Mofongo is supposed to satisfy even the biggest manly appetites but it didn't fill me. I told the owner Miguel how I felt about his food. He sat down with me and was very concerned about my dining experience. He went and told the chef and brought me another meal. I didn't expect him to do that but he was really appreciative for me proving him my thoughts. By the way the second meal that he provided was the chicharon de pollo with rice & beans. That second meal definitely filled me and it was very good. It was a delight to see that Miguel the owner took my concern so seriously. The food was really great and I probably was extra hungry that night. I will come eat at La Brisa again when I am in queens and recommend it to my friends. Coming from a Dominican, this is my favorite Dominican restaurant in Queens. I am very judgemental when it comes to restaurants cooking food from my country. I often get Chicharron de Pollo (Fried Chix Crackling), White Rice and Beans. Beans is something really hard to make because no one makes them like my mom, but brisas is pretty close. The sandwiches are great too. The Yuca is nice and tender, just how I like it. The sweet and green plantains perfect. The Longaniza (Dominican Sausage) YUMMM. I can go on for days, but you won't be dissapointed. My one and only complaint is that a couple of times when I went in to order take-out, the waitresses would take long to acknowledge me, because they are too focused on serving men. So this is pretty much heaven for men. I made the owner aware of this and he became very upset and rectified it. So if anything goes wrong, he's usually there and makes sure that everyone is served well. read more

We were in Queens for my daughter's Taekwon Do tournament and this restaurant was not only near our hotel, but they delivered, yay! Before finding out they delivered, I'd found them using my Yelp app and being Puerto Rican and seeing amazing reviews, I really wanted to try their food. She ordered hers with chicken and I ordered mine with pork; I'm pretty sure we both got chicken. The service here is less than satisfactory. I'm not sure if is a cultural/language disconnect but the waitress spoke no English and would just plop our plates down and pick them up.
