They have the best chicken and beef empanadas hands down! They are fast and efficient. The only downside is that they pretend that they cannot deliver to specific areas ie. the back of the hospital. FYI if I'm paying you for a service and you expect to be tipped please walk around the back of the building so my coworkers and I can receive our food. We just had some really amazing empanadas from this place after going to the Queens zoo! My toddler gobbled up 2 in one breath. There was no menu - so we asked to order 3 of each - turns out to be cheese, chicken, pork. The shell is freshly fried, filling soft and seasoned well. The cheese empanada needs to be eaten immediately before the cheese hardens. Service is pretty slow but the empanadas are fresh and worth the wait! read more

Early on a Saturday morning, very little is open north of the LIE but south of Jewel Ave and in full functional food serving swing. I certainly found that within the clean, modern corner empanada spot, but it wasn't an empanada day just yet. Ordering the most pricey menu item set me back $9.00 and filled me to the brim, no further eating was necessary as the hours passed me by to early evening. The rice and beans lurking below the pounded shoe leather beef and the beautifully herbed scrambled egg had to tip the scales at a full pound. I walked with my posture on a slight tilt to my illegally parked car, bursting non- biodegradable food holder in hand, which I consumed while parked outside.The street parking is boarder line impossible. I pulled my overstuffed torso from my cars interior with a mighty Heeve Hoo, in deep thought about this not delicious, not even really good meal. I have been going to El Palacio de Las Empanadas for so many years just for these two items only. Besides the famous empanadas, they mainly specialize in Colombian food. If you're planning on dining inside, don't expect to sit down immediately, as they have very little room to accommodate more than 3 tables in their space. The only reason I gave this place 4/5 stars was because they had raised their empanada prices to more than just a dollar, as well as everything else on the menu.
