This is the perfect spot to stop before going to a concert at Forest Hills. I came here with a friend on a Saturday around 4:45 p.m. and was not disappointed. It wasn't that crowded at that time to our pleasant surprise. We started off with samosas which were perfectly cooked. The waitress kept trying to bring us more samosas even though we only ordered one. I had the tikka makhani, which was on the sweeter side and could have used a bit more heat. The chili garlic naan, however, was delicious and really brought balance to the meal. The restaurant interior is clean and well-organized. Service was friendly, but on the slower side. We had a bit of difficulty locating the restaurant because Google Maps dropped us off at the end of the block, but Tikka N Talk is a little further in and downstairs. We ordered the chicken tikka masala (mild), chicken vindaloo, and chicken biryani. The tikka masala here is SO good, but I think we'll order it a little spicier next time. We were thinking that the vindaloo would be super spicy, and we'd need something mild. The vindaloo was really flavorful & had a kick to it, but we could probably ask them for a bit more spice as well. Portions here are generous, well priced, and there's a good amount of chicken. The chicken biryani was unfortunately the one thing that was just okay to us. None of the flavors/spices were particularly noticeable, and it was a bit bland even with the raita. Don't order from here. Ordered delivery from them a few times because I didn't have an issue before. However, looks like something must be different with management, because recent reviews on GrubHub are also complaining about what I am. The delivery has taken over an hour (still not here and I don't expect it to). I've called the restaurant and spoken to the same chick. Her favorite phrase is "just give it a few more minutes". They had a brunch menu with really affordable options ($10-$15 and comes with chai/coffee), as well as an extensive menu with things I've never seen before (qabuli naan). They started with sauces and complementary Crackers (it's very similar to the Mexican puffed crackers). I ordered the chickpea poori dish (waiter said that this was a little bigger than the bhature), which paired nicely with the tamarind sauce. The dish was lighter in flavor which made it a good brunch option I thought and came with 2 pillowy deep fried breads which were the best part of the meal I thought. The chai had a bit much milk but was actually brewed from leaves. Also ordered the chicken korma, which was much more buttery than nutty in taste. Came across Tikka N Talk while exploring Forest Hills and glad we did! We were drawn in by their brunch specials on the weekend but ended up ordering from the regular menu instead. They serve one of my favorite malai koftas because of which I have been back a couple of times! The service is quick and friendly, the entrees were well portioned and priced. It's been a bit on the empty side during our visits but it does have more of a takeout vibe so I am guessing most of their business comes from Uber eats and other delivery platforms. Awesome and friendly service. They were very attentive and informative as my friend had a few questions regarding some of their drinks and dishes. The waiter always had a smile on his face. The food was really good, my favorite was the Dahi sevi puri appetizer and the garlic chili naan. The mango lassi was awesome it had a lot of mango flavor and was thick, not so diluted like some other places can make it. Half of the place still seemed to be under renovation, but the completed half was very aesthetic and had a nice ambience, however I noticed since we were sitting near the kitchen I could hear some of the kitchen staff communicating about orders and sometimes it seemed a bit chaotic, it would create a nicer ambience if they were able to diffuse the kitchen noise away from the guests. We ordered their palak paneer, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan to share between two people. It was the perfect amount of spice for us and a decent portion. We loved the flavors of both entrees but the garlic naan fell a little short and tasted of only freshly chopped raw garlic as opposed to buttery and fragrant. First time trying this place and I'm very impressed with the service and the food. The wait staff quickly seated us, was very friendly and was able to answer all of our questions and make recommendations. I love me some vindaloo and this does not disappoint in any way. I especially like my vindaloo spicy, not American spicy, really spicy. This was the best Indian food I've had in about the past decade. The lunch special came with naan, daal, golub jam and basmati rice. It was the perfect portion and everything was perfectly seasoned. I ordered directly from Yelp and picked it up since it was close to my home. The décor of the restaurant was very cute and modern. There were some cool areas to take some pics so I will definitely return to experience dining indoors. They have a small variety of lunch specials which were very affordable. This is a great spot in the area for Indian food. The service is very friendly and the prices are reasonable. Upon seating you get free chips and chutney and sauces which is a nice perk. For appetizers my friend and I got the pani puri shots and the samosas. Both were excellent the sauces for the pani puri tasted nice and I'm glad that there were two different options. I've eaten at Tikka N Talk a bunch times now, and their dishes never disappoint. I've tried a number of dishes from their menu, and each one is as good as the next. As far as appetizers go, the chicken and veggie samosa are delicious. They're incredibly flavorful, they've got a little kick (for me, at least), and the're a great serving size. The dish comes with two, so they're great to split with someone else. The Dahi Sev Poori and Papri Chaat dishes are similar in taste, but different in presentation. Both delicious, but I liked the Papri Chaat more. They remind me of nachos--just with chickpeas, potatoes, and other spices. We had a piece of Naan with the Dahi Sev Poori because there is a lot of sauce/liquid that goes with it. We've tried the Chicken 65 dish, too, but it was too spicy for me. I couldn't eat it. My husband really enjoyed it though. As far as entrees go, our go-to is the Murgh Biryani. It's delicious and filled with so much flavor. I've also tried a couple of their brunch dishes. The Masala omelette is really flavorful, and the Vada Pav was unlike anything I've tried before. Dessert wise, I've tried the Gulab Jamun. These were really delicious, too. Everything I have tried from Tikka N Talk has been delicious, and there's lots more on their menu that I'm looking forward to trying. Most of the people who come here seem to be non-desi. This place might me amazing for someone who didn't grow up eating desi food. If you're desi however, you won't be impressed by the food. The papar is basic. The chutneys are the best part. They tamarind chutney, cilantro chutney are really good. The onion salad thing, I liked. We got the lunch special: chicken tikka masala ($15) & butter chicken ($13). Both were ok, nothing special. I thought the chicken tikka was bland tbh. I'm used to much more flavorful food. The daal was strangely spicy. It was too spicy for me & my friend didn't like it either although she loves spicy food. I didn't try the naan so I can't speak for it. The gulab jamun was good but too sweet for me, but that's everywhere cuz of the super sweet sugar syrup. The service was really good tho. read more

Came here onna random weekday and was seated away from the main part of the restaurant and was essentially forgotten by the wait staff, compounded by the fact thay the only other table in my area was a family with screaming kids added to pleasant evening, but i digress kids are going to kids afterall. The food and service was good. The ambience was relaxing. I just wish the Curried Fish was spicy like I asked it to be. That was my only quibble. Everything else was spot on. I plan on visiting again to taste other dishes and perhaps do a more in-depth Visited again and got several dishes but again the Fish Curry was meh. Not up to par at all and this time it tasted really mediocre. Not sure if this was just me but I doubt that I would have this particular dish ever again there.
