The server apologized and decided to bring us some kulfi (ice cream) to try to make up for it, but we try to avoid eating sugar so that was useless. I felt bad for the server because it wasn't his fault that our food took a ridiculous amount of time to make it to our table, and it's not cool that a manager never stepped in to try to reconcile. As someone who waited tables for 8+ years, I was shocked at the lack of support this server received from his management team. The dal and paneer tikka dishes were average tasting at best (and overpriced), making another trip here completely unfathomable, most especially considering how we were treated. The samosa had a nice flakey crust with a flavorful and substantial amount of filling. The kerala curry is coconut milk based with really great heat. The vegetables were firm and soft. I found my Chicken Tikka Masala, along with the garlic naan, delicious. The other half thought the Lamb Curry was too spicy (I had the leftovers at home the next day. It wasn't as hot as she said. I thought it was fine). Both mains had a good amount of meat for the price. They gave us a complimentary dessert of Rasmali, because they were disappointed my other half found the Lamb Curry too spicy for her taste. Very tasty. The Yelp app is very helpful - it lists the health department grade after the ratings. Bombay Grill also makes excellent curries. I prefer those over the usual chicken tikka masala - although that's always good. If you order lunch, the lunch box has more variety but less of the main course. So if you want just one main dish, it's better to go without a box lunch option and just choose a standard lunch deal.

Taking over for another desi-owned spot (#1) several years ago, they've done a much better job of capturing an audience by focusing on a niche of Goan inspired foods, along with a slew of classic Indian dishes that span from north to south. The interior is modest and quaint, and a one bright / memorable outdoor setup during the pandemic. The restaurant is not big, but they've managed to cram in a good number of tables to make it place for 30 folks. Takeout and delivery are also very popular, and I've been fortunate to have had all of the above. Some immediate standouts: goan fish curry, xacuti curry, and the caldeen curry are quite excellent and all come from the Indo-Portuguese side of the menu, which are all loaded with flavor. Additionally, the tandoori selection (especially the chicken malai, seekh kebab, and methi salmon) and variety of curries (rogan josh, korma, jalfrezi, makhani, etc.) are also very flavorful. As with many other Indian places, especially ones that cater to the southern palate, there is an excellent vegetarian selection. The saag chana is one of my go-tos, but the peeli dal, bhindi masala, gobi manchurian over their lemon or tomato rice all merit a big thumbs up.
