my family and i came here after completing a breast cancer walk because i saw it had good reviews. the menu was extensive and honestly it was pretty hard to narrow down what i wanted but i decided on the omelet with home fries. everything here was very good and the service was good. the waiter was also very personable. stop by!

Been here several times and never had an issue. Service always good, food is always delicious, place is always clean. My go-to breakfast/brunch is breakfast quesadilla or the southwest omelette. Delicious! Tried the waffles today and also delicious. Light, fluffy, and lightly crispy. No complaints on anything. Highly recommend.

I was lucky to get a table as soon as a walked in on a Saturday morning. The hot chocolate really hit the spot on a rainy day. The fruit was fresh and the pancakes were nice and fluffy. Solid diner meal.

Dinerbar has been making it increasingly difficult to remain its patron. While the food still hits the high mark, the prices are just outrageous. I've been ordering my favorite from their menu when I am in a time crunch or a pinch (chicken avocado wrap) - the other day, it cost me $28 with a soda. TWENTY EIGHT DOLLARS. For a wrap with fries and a soda. I just can't get behind that. And I do truly think it's a shame because they're never NOT full or busy seemingly.

3.5 really. I think this places name does it a disservice. It is way more than a diner or a bar. The service is fantastic. They are very amiable and attentive. I ordered the cappuccino smoothie coctail. It was a delicious meal... it at least should have been! Coffee, ice cream, kahlua, and whipped cream. What more does one need? The fried chicken sandwich was very good. The chicken was substantial with all the fixings. It was well cooked, crispy and juicy. The fries were good and crispy. The ranchero eggs came in a skillet with sweet potatoes, potatoes, and peppers. The sweet potatoes didn't do much for me. The ranchero sauce didn't look appealing, and was mildly flavored. The winner was the homemade habanero sauce.. spicy and flavorful. The blueberry marscapone crepe was pretty, I didn't taste it. Oh, and the watermelon cocktail was yummy.

I've been to Dinerbar in Rego Park multiple times, mostly for Sunday brunch, and it's consistently solid. The space is a little more upscale than your typical diner--clean, modern, and spacious with comfy seating and a sleek vibe. The standard breakfast plate hits the spot--eggs, sausage, potatoes, toast, and a strong iced coffee. If you want to branch out, the poached egg avocado toast is nicely done, and for something sweet, the Fruity Pebbles French toast is a fun, indulgent option. Service is always friendly and attentive, and portions are big--I've happily made a meal out of appetizers like short rib sliders, fish tacos, and their Cobb salad. Dependable and satisfying. A notch above your average diner in both quality and atmosphere.

Had breakfast at the Dinerbar on 3.22.2026. My group and I ordered the Greek omelette, California omelette and pancakes with what I believe was some sort of apple syrup and coconut. And let me tell you not one of us complained. The managers and waiters were also very nice and professional. It was truly a wonderful experience for us and we will definietly be making this spot one of our regulars.

Cuisine: 7 Service: 7 Decor: 7 Value: 8 Overall: 7 Very solid diner that serves some good quality food. Everything is done relatively well, from pancakes to waffles. My favorite here is the Jalapeño Cheddar Bacon & Egg Sandwich. A side of sausage is a must too because they are plump and juicy. Service is always good and it has seating to fit large groups. If this is your local diner, consider yourself pretty lucky.

Came here for breakfast with my cousin and boyfriend. They had really good specials I ended up getting the boozy banana milkshake. We also got a peanut butter milkshake, steak and eggs with chimichurri sauce and a fig French toast. Everything was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend coming here if you have not tried it yet!

My boyfriend and I were visiting the area and needed a quick bite, so we decided on Dinerbar. We arrived around 8PM on a Sunday, and it was pretty empty, so we were seated immediately. We both ordered burgers. I got the short rib burger and he got the juicy Lucy. These burgers were huge, especially the Juicy Lucy. The burgers tasted pretty good, but I'd say the pricing was a bit high for what it was, but overall wasn't bad, and I'm open to coming back. Based off of the reviews, it looks like this spot is more known for brunch, so maybe we'll try it out another time!

I've always ordered for pick up, and the food is still great even after the ride home! If I had the time I would love to dine in one day. The ambiance looks awesome. Their chicken souvlaki platter totally missed the mark and was very dry. But besides that, panini and burger were fantastic and hit the spot.

Always great place for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner! We love their milk shakes - I would say best milkshakes in Queens! And also carrot cake is to die for!

While deciding where to go one day, this was suggested and im so glad I went. The restaurant is cozy with tables inside the main dining room and in an enclosed outdoor seating area. Im guessing it opens in the summer. I sat down with my niece while waiting for my sister and for a good 5-7 minutes, no one stopped by and gave a menu nor offered water. Finally after about 3 people walked by not saying anything, someone came. The area is not that big and 7 minutes isnt that long but to sit there any not be addressed by all the staff walking by was annoying. Finally my sister came and we were offered water and a menu. After hearing about the specials and asking for recommendations, we settled on the gnocchi (housemade potato gnocchi, burrata, peas, pesto sauce, toasted pine nuts), Pappardelle alla Bolognese (housemade ribbon pasta, meat sauce), and side of sautéed spinach. The food arrived and we were pleasantly delightful by the main. The gnocchi was so soft and creamy, the sauce was delicious. Im not a fan of gnocchi but this was so good. The papardelle was my meal and it was also so good. There was a lot of pasta and a good amount of meat sauce. It was also delicious. The spinach on the other hand was bland. It has no flavor and we had to add some salt. A few times we tried to call someone over to our table but felt like no one was paying attention. When we were done with our meals, my sister had a few pieces of gnocchi left. She asked for a box as it was to be my nieces lunch for tomorrow. I then said, can you also box up the spinach. A few minutes later, the server dropped off a bag with one container and said here's the spinach. We tried to call his attention but he was already walking away. Where was the gnocchi. Finally when we came back, we asked about it and he said oh I thought it was garbage. I said no we asked for it to be boxed. He said let me talk to the kitchen. He came back and said sorry, they cant do anything but one dessert will be on me. I guess thats fine but we more wanted the food for the baby. For dessert we ordered a tiramisu and pistachio gelato. The tiramisu was in a jar as opposed to a cake slice. One bite of the ice cream and I knew it was bad. It was grainy and sandy texture. I looked up why that would be and one reason stated it could be improper storage, like it was unfrozen or melted then refrozen. I wasn't chancing that. I told the server and said I couldn't eat it. He offered another dessert but I said know, then offered a limoncello shot. While I appreciate the offer, we weren't drinking before so that wasn't the best option to offer. I just said im fine without a replacement. When we got the bill, the dessert was taken off like he said he would. We paid and left. Overall the main course/pasta meals were delicious. The sides and desserts could use work. Service was alright. Id definitely come back for the food and to try some of the pizza.

This was basically an eggplant parm and the eggplant was cooked perfectly, the cheese was ok but the sauce made this dish really tasty with the nice homemade focaccia they give you in the beginning. Branzino Special with Cannelli Beans and Swiss Chard. This was the winner of the evening. The cripsy skin was amazing. The fish was cooked to perfection, the cannelli beans I thought were going to be weird but it added a nice creaminess to the fish. Lastly the swiss chard was crunchy on the ends and nice and tender on the leaf. This should be put on the regular menu. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA&select=xNVfJCmf89OOY-1ME3FY7Q Controfiletto- grilled prime angus N.Y. strip steak served with roasted marble potatoes. I hate to say it but as good as the steak was, the roasted potatoes was the star of show. The potatoes were amazing. Pappardelle alla Bolognese- housemade ribbon pasta, meat sauce. This was good but came off a bit plain. The pasta was homemade but it was almost to a fault since the pasta came out too soft. The flavors were good but I felt this would have been a better, reheated the next day kind of dish.

The walls were Southwest in Color and decorated with unique artifacts. It was very "artsy" and very Forest Hills. Now, with a recent re-do of the decor, I can best describe it as "Generic Long Island Restaurant". Gone is the uniqueness and in its place are generic white tablecloths and a conservative color scheme. SERVICE; i recognize that finding servers is difficult these days, but the service here didn't even reach diner standards. First, the wrong mixed drink was brought to the table. Then, the mixed drink that was brought as a replacement, which at least looked correct, didn't taste correct. Other reviewers have noted this issue as well, and for $17.00 it should have been exemplary! The server seemed to be limited to a dialogue of "cheese or pepper?". DISHES: We had the tuna tartar and Tagliatelli specials as well as the Apple Salad and the Penne with Asparagus "a la vodka". The tuna tartar had an "off taste". The Tagliatelli was OK. The two pasta dishes were served in round plates that looked unique but weren't appropriate for the pasta. The Apple Salad was way overly dressed and the dressing overpowered any flavor that the ingredients may have had. There were very few Apple Slices as well. Dessert was the Cream Brulee which was OK but, again served in a plate that was more appropriate for Flan. Overall, Il Poeta is worth visiting if you plan to be in area but I would no longer go out of my way to dine there.

Food we got the pan con jamon, garlic shrimp, patatas bravas, shisito peppers and the plancha burger. The sangria was very good. Juicy, not overloaded with BS fruit and just very flavorful. The bread is like a toasted baguette cut into 4 triangles topped with piquillo salsa, arugula and jamon. Pretty good, I was surpised there wasn't pan con tomato but it was still enjoyable. This is a bit more on the acidic side so if you don't like things too tangy - might not be for you. Patatas bravas, classic with aioli and bravas sauce. Shisito peppers blistered, a bit of finishing salt and lemon. Garlic shrimp was cooked well, personally I'd like a bit more garlic in mine and some bread to mop would be nice but still tasty. Plancha burger was definitely our favorite. It's a blend of wagyu sirloin and chorizo, so it's very juicy with a nice smokiness.
