My sister and I visited Kantu Peruvian Cuisine on August 16, 2026, and this was our second time here. The food was AMAZING the first time around, so I was really hoping they would deliver again. And when it came to the food--they absolutely did! We ordered ceviche, tostones with guacamole, drinks, and our entrées. Everything was coming out and we were enjoying ourselves. I went to the restroom--which, by the way, was very clean--and when I returned to the table, I happ5ened to look up in the corner. That's when I noticed the restaurant had a PENDING letter grade. Now I'm concerned. I asked our server if she could find out from the manager why the grade was pending. She came back and told us it was because of a leak, but they couldn't remember the inspection score. That answer didn't completely sit well with me, so you know what happened next... I started digging. The last time I visited, they had an A, so seeing "Grade Pending" definitely caught my attention. When I looked into the restaurant's inspection history, I couldn't find the specific reason for the current pending grade, but I did see that an earlier inspection in May 2025 resulted in a B. I understand that even a restaurant with an A can have violations or issues, and a pending grade doesn't automatically tell you what the problem is. But when I'm eating somewhere, I definitely want to know what's going on. Our server was super sweet and reassuring, and the restaurant had plenty of customers dining there. The restroom was also extremely clean, so I'm hoping that same level of cleanliness carries into the kitchen. And trust me--I'll be driving by next week to see what letter is in that window! I'm rooting for an A! Now let's get back to that FOOD because they deserve their credit. The flavors were so good. My steak came out medium-rare exactly the way I ordered it, the asparagus was delicious, and that GUACAMOLE?! EVERYTHING! The food here really is excellent. The servers have been welcoming, attentive and sweet during both of my visits, and I was especially happy that I was able to enjoy my meal without having an allergic reaction. First time here and I don't know why I didn't try sooner! It's such a beautiful ambiance inside! They actually have new additional side now that a friend who frequents this restaurant. The food was pretty good though I may still have not have all of my taste buds sback yet since I was sick so definitely want to return. We chanced upon ladies night which is for every entree you get a free drink. Choices was margarita or a pisco punch. I got the pisco punch but a few of the ladies got the margaritas and they looked good as well. Everyone got their own dish and everyone enjoyed themselves mentioned they haven't seen till our dinner. Well now, this is a follow-up review that is long overdue lol, waaaay back during covid my wife and I ordered delivery, might have been the best delivery meal we ever had and we swore when covid was over we were going to have to go check them out, somehow that only happened now and man ..we were definitely missing out! We did make a reservation ahead of time but honestly, I'm pretty sure you could walk in. On Thursdays they do an all day happy hour so of course we got our $10 cocktails which were delicious. Huge DISAPPOINTMENT !!! New to the neighborhood searched for a Peruvian spot.. too tired ordered via Grubhub.. food came .. ordered lomo saltado and other stuff .. got chicken instead .. no biggie .. called the restaurant .. told the woman the name and attempted to tell her we got the wrong thing.. and she would not let us talk.. kept repeating the order.. yet we tried to tell her we got chicken versus steak... she literally hung up the phone on us ... completely baffled .. we called back and obviously she didn't answer.. we called back from a different number enroute to the establishment .. the gentleman answered and declared he'd rectify the issue .. we get there she greeted us and asked if it was her we spoke to and the argument ensued.. she didn't even let me talk and proceeded to tell me she had two people with the name so she was only trying to verify.. but given her standoffish defensive demeanor .. I highly doubt two orders with the same name and same order with the exception of one being chicken and the other being steak existed .. but stranger things have happened.. I said to her "you're in the business of service .: you could have simply listened to the issue before chirping off and making excuses... she is incredibly rude Yasmin R.. who I then realized is the owner which made this entire debacle of a first impression experience even more disturbing .. you were rude and lack etiquette and couth! You were dismissive and simply "wrong and strong" I mean damn.. The colorful, well thought out decor could almost feel upscale, while the vibe, staff and menu are relaxed and familiar. On a few visits we found staff on point; the right mix of attentive, but no pressure. We saw lots of families at large tables, clearly having a great time. All menu items were prepared with care, fresh and delicious. Prices are reasonable - without drinks $40pp within reach. We did love and enjoy their sangria, Pisco sours and other signature cocktails. Delicious and perfectly crispy! I overheard both tables next to us ordering it at the same time that we started eating, so it's definitely a favorite on the menu! I was interested in their catering menu which is on their website with prices. My fiancée and I agreed on this so we contacted them 2 weeks ago via their website. A week passes by and no contact.
