    Leche de Tigre
    Catherine Y.

The restaurant was quite busy for a Friday lunch, but the space felt clean and spacious, and our server was efficient and polite. We started with the leche de tigre as an appetizer, which was very tasty. I especially enjoyed the marinated raw crab leg and appreciated the bright acidity of the dish. For our mains, we ordered the costilla al horno (pork ribs with rice and beans). My husband really enjoyed it, though I found the ribs a bit dry, but I'm also generally not a fan of dry rubs. The fish soup that it came with was delicious. I ordered the shredded hen lunch special. While I thought the portion was a bit small, the hen itself was very flavorful, and I did enjoy the salad that came with it. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal.

What a beautiful spot, nicely decorated with pleasant servers. The food and mocktails were delicious. I don't care too much for white beans but they were ok. Overall a nice restaurant to enjoy a date or with friends n family. Ample dining area a bit pricey but what isn't nowadays.

Service was great, very friendly. Ambiance is very nice. 2 stars for food this time. They changed their chimichurri sauce which was the best ever with fresh pieces of garlic, fresh herbs. Now it's a light green paste with no garlic pieces just a mushy cream sauce. Literally the whole reason I picked to go there for my birthday dinner. Since I did not want that without there original sauce, I ordered the Camarones al ajillo instead and there was not one piece of garlic in that, the sauce didn't even have a strong Garlic flavor. 5 burros makes it amazing. This one I ate 2 shrimp and wrapped it up to to fix it and make more flavorful at home. If something was delicious the way it was, why change it and make it worse? Used to love coming here but can't say I'll be back anytime soon sadly.

First time here and I don't know why I didn't try sooner! It's such a beautiful ambiance inside! They actually have new additional side now that a friend who frequents this restaurant. The food was pretty good though I may still have not have all of my taste buds sback yet since I was sick so definitely want to return. We chanced upon ladies night which is for every entree you get a free drink. Choices was margarita or a pisco punch. I got the pisco punch but a few of the ladies got the margaritas and they looked good as well. Everyone got their own dish and everyone enjoyed themselves mentioned they haven't seen till our dinner. We got various dishes but 3 of us myself included got the recommended seafood with white sauce from waiters suggestion. Others was salmon with quinoa, chicken, fried rice and steak. Since we had a group of 7, 18% gratuities is added automatically to bill.

The omelette was ample and had a good infusion of quinoa throughout; felt like a salubrious meal overall.

Super cute space with beautiful decor and a great ambiance. The food was tasty and well presented. Drinks were good as well, though they could use a bit more liquor. Prices are affordable, and the location is great--parking wasn't hard to find at all. Our server was friendly but could use a bit more experience. The empanadas were my favorite dish. The yucca fries had good flavor but were a little overcooked. The fish ceviche was well prepared and fresh. Desserts were delicious, especially the tres leches and churros.

I'm start of with the one and only negative her. These cookies we got for dessert. So dry and stick to the roof of your mouth front like moist and can't wait to bite again--- but dry and you'll choke on the powdered sugar dry!! Love these type of cookies just not here . But the service was very good The rest of the food especially the meat was all super great and would come back again. Ceviche was as good maybe a bit to citrusy but to each their own

Well now, this is a follow-up review that is long overdue lol, waaaay back during covid my wife and I ordered delivery, might have been the best delivery meal we ever had and we swore when covid was over we were going to have to go check them out, somehow that only happened now and man ..we were definitely missing out! What can I say about Kantu? The food , cocktails, ambiance all top tier. The staff was warm ,friendly and inviting..our server Daniel was outstanding and totally understood our vibe lol. The food was impeccable, cant find one thing to complain about, everything was well prepared and delicious, the servings are absolutely huge and can easily feed 2 people, a great place to order a bunch of different things to share, which is just about my favorite thing to do The cocktails are next level and their sangria is top notch as should be the case with any Peruvian place worth its salt. Dessert was just as yummy as the rest of the meal, I could eat a dozen of those churros Thank you and congratulations to the entire staff on a job well done , I eagerly await my my next visit.

We will be back. I enjoyed the food and service. Would try to go earlier in the evening since it does seem to get loud. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was good. Enjoyed the guac, tostones, ceviche, fried seafood and grilled octopus. And the desserts. The only thing I wouldn't get is the grilled chicken since it was dry the previous time I came. The whole steak was cook to the desired medium rare, the pieces of steak in the other order was a bit well done.

Second time coming here for a celebration because the food was so memorable. This time around we came on a Thursday night around 6:30 and we were pretty disappointed in the service. We ate our entrees around 9 pm and we we're all starving. Thankfully the food was all delicious, just wish the food came at a more reasonable hour.

Went for a Sunday brunch because I was craving the Jalea. Our group of four also ordered the Weekend trio of stewed things (can't remember the name) and the others had the pulled hen dish. Everyone was happy with the food. I really liked my fried yucca but felt my shrimp was over cooked- very dry. Glad I had the tiramisu and coffee to end my meal. Ambiance was nice and service was great.

Was pleasantly surprised to see how lovely this restaurant is in terms of decor - love the ambiance! Food was decent. The ceviche was great, perfectly acidic. The rice dishes were just okay, not bad but not great either. Great local spot but not a place I'd trek out for. Lomo saltado was disappointing compared to places in Manhattan. Service was lacking though, could have been more attentive - we didnt get a water refill at all.

I wud love to go back and try their menu desserts. I had the cheesecake with golden berryy which was just fine. Tres leche was just ok too I need some strawberries on that. Ceviche was fresh and spicy but could be more, love the corn tho. Tostones was yummy and my saltado was delishhhh!!!!! Love that flavor, and the baby pork ribs was nicee and tender, duckk was weeekend special and got a bit dry in cooking but good with the ajillo sauce i think. Fried rice had good temperature and texture but missing elements of something idk. Cilantro rice was fragrant and yummmm.

I ordered the short ribs and the five-onion soup again, and both were excellent. The service was spot-on and impressively quick--my food arrived in under 15 minutes. The owner is also really cool; he personally greets guests and makes a point of chatting with the performers to ensure they're comfortable. This is a wonderfully romantic spot. The beautiful flowers add such a nice touch (as I mentioned in my previous review). While it's not fully upscale, it has an elevated, sophisticated vibe that makes you want to dress up for the occasion. Highly recommended!

Well, at least business was "Blooming" due to Mother's Day reservations…read more All jokes aside, I visited this restaurant yesterday for a Mother's Day brunch with a group of eight others. Our reservation had been confirmed the day before by both our host and the restaurant. When I arrived early, I was surprised to find the place jam-packed and clearly overcrowded. The front-of-house staff, along with the presumed owner, seemed overwhelmed and initially could not locate our 12:00 reservation. There were also guests with 11:30 and later reservations that were still waiting to be seated, along with several other groups scheduled around our time. After waiting nearly 50 minutes, talking with others who were also waiting, and watching two other tables be hastily set up and filled, we were finally seated. The table had been quickly wiped down and set with placemats, but it was missing silverware and several glasses. Most of this was resolved fairly quickly, though two people still never received glasses, with one person asking a few times for one. Our clearly overworked waitress brought us water and eventually took our order after a shorter additional wait. I ordered a $6 cappuccino, which was enjoyable, with a moderate amount of foam and a pleasantly bitter flavor without tasting over-roasted. However, another person's $4.50 iced coffee did not seem worth the price, as it appeared to be no more than a 12-ounce glass and was mostly filled with ice. Outside of coffee, the staff was understandably slow with water, with long waits, and we finally got a pitcher near the end of the meal. For my meal, I chose the $16 Poached Browns, which included two poached eggs, pulled pork, an English muffin, hollandaise sauce, and their Bloom hash. Many minutes later, and I mean many, the eggs were properly poached and were the highlight of the dish. The pulled pork, served without any additional sauce, was dry, and the small amount of hollandaise did little to help. The hash on the side lacked crispiness and vegetables, aside from what might have been a tiny piece of chopped yellow pepper. Overall, it was below average but passable. Two others ordered the Make Your Own Omelette for $19, which comes with a choice of three ingredients, the same hash, and bacon. They made two specific requests, both of which our waitress confirmed: first, that they did not want bacon, and second, that they could substitute fries for the hash--regular fries for one person and sweet potato fries for the other. Despite this, both plates arrived with bacon, as you can see in my first photo, where one of them transferred her bacon to my plate. The other person sent her plate back and ended up receiving her Mother's Day meal well after everyone else. The omelette also looked a bit more like a frittata, which I didn't mind. After waiting a while, including finally getting pitchers of water, we finally left after a long and annoying bunch. If this spot indeed had reservation issues, why on earth were they still allowing walk-ins? Why did they tell people it would take 15-20 minutes to seat when it would clearly take 30+? This entire experience was inept from beginning to end. The food this time is closer to a 2, but our experience as a whole was closer to a 1. I would never go back.

We tried to make reservations for 6:30pm, but it gave us an error message that the time had been taken already, so I was assuming that the restaurant would be packed, but it was the opposite when we walked in. There were only two other people there. So I would definitely look into their reservations system. For drinks, I went for the mango margarita. 10/10 recommend the drinks. My margarita was delicious. their cocktail menu looks super fun, they have drinks that come out in little bathtubs and cute presentations. For food, we shared the ahi tuna tostada appetizer which was so good! super fresh and flavorful. For our mains, I got the chicken al pastor tacos (loved the flavors, especially the avocado crema) and he ordered the carne asada tacos, which were also packed with flavor. Portion-wise, for the price, you get three tacos, so it felt very reasonable. The tacos were definitely a hit for both of us. The only small downside was the service towards the end. everything started out great, but once we were done, it took a while to actually get the check and pay. Kinda funny how it took longer to leave than it did to get served. Not a huge deal, but just something to keep in mind if you're on a schedule..they definitely don't rush you out. Overall great vibes, great food, great drinks. I would absolutely come back!

I hate to bring down a mom 'n' pop shop, but this place isn't very good. It's also kinda pricey for Forest Hills and for the quality you get. Sigh. The best dishes we got were the Oxtail Croquettes and the Crispy Salmon. Things started going downhill at the pretty but bizarrely flavored Forest Hills Roll, which inexplicably pairs salmon, tobiko, orange, chives, avocado sauce, and teriyaki mayo. I appreciate a creative/fusion roll, but salmon and orange should never, ever exist on the same plate. Ever. The worst item we got was the Chicken Udon. I'm not sure how aany Asian restaurant could mess up such a staple dish, but in Daikon's case, it's because they used Japanese SOUP udon, not stir-fry udon. As soon as the plate was set, I could tell it was the wrong type of udon, and the udon was massively overcooked. Yes, there are different types of udon and they are meant to be cooked in different ways. They are identifiable by their shapes, storage needs and preparation needs, a memo Daikon clearly missed. Points for loading the dish with veggies, but eating them within the soggy mess of udon was just unpleasant.
