Got lured to this place after seeing a post about it from Instagram. First off, the place is very pretty and definitely photo Instagram worthy. Lots of flowers, garden like atmosphere, even the bathroom had flowers and ivy on the ceiling. Just gorgeous! The service was good too. Very nice server, quick and attentive. Where they fell short was food. The menu was all over the place. This place isn't known for fusion but that's what the menu appears to be. There were Korean dishes, Italian, Mediterranean, American... like I said..all over the place. I had the bibimbap. It was not the traditional Korean clay pot kind, it was cold, on a plate and basically deconstructed. We had the mushroom calamari for appetizers and that was actually pretty good and the vegetarian takoyaki...was very dry and bland bland bland. My friend had the spicy calamarata. It was very bland, had some spice to it but seemed like that was the only seasoning they put in there. My other friend had the braised short rib. The meat was very tender but same shortcoming as everything else ...bland. Their saving grace was the mushroom appetizer and side of brussel sprouts. I can finally take this off my bookmark as I dined here. Once you walk inside, you understand why it is called bloom. With all of the (fake) flowers decorating the place, the name of the place makes sense. It is very ig worthy. We didn't make any reservations. Since when you go inside, there's a lot of seating, and barely anyone was there on a Sunday night. Perhaps that's why the service was spot on. There are a few areas at the restaurant where you can take pictures, such as by the bloom sign at the back. They even have a ring light and arm chairs where you can pose for shots. There's another area where the swing is with the flowers in the background. For the table, we got the wagu meatballs to start, and that was absolutely delicious. The sauce was so addictive that I ate it right up. The sauce paired well with the entire meal. For myself, I got the mojo jumbo shrimp as an entree, and that was pretty good, too. The banana's foster was for dessert. The presentation of it was great with fire to harden the banana. For drinks, we got a refreshing non alcoholic blueberry basil lemonade. They made a fresh batch for us as they didn't have any of it available. All in all, the only gripe was the price of everything. It was a tad bit pricey for the location of the place. read more

The place has a very cool decor, very trendy. There was a guy coming around singing happy birthday to everyone. He has a deep opera like voice. He sat and spoke with my son for a bit and then started singing. They had bubbles, and a sparkler ..it was very unique and special. I was genuinely excited to visit Bloom Botanical Bistro, as it had been on my list for months. Unfortunately, my experience last night with three friends was deeply disappointing from the moment we arrived. When we asked if there were tables available, we were just told to "sit anywhere" with no guidance. Once seated, a busboy removed a few glasses but left the table dirty, and we had to ask him to come back and clean it properly. After that, we were completely ignored. No one brought menus, offered water, or even acknowledged our presence. Despite being seated in clear view of staff, including bartenders, waiters, a hostess, and a bouncer, not a single person checked on us. Servers walked past us multiple times without so much as eye contact. It was clear we were being overlooked. In fact, it took guests at a nearby table feeling sorry for us to flag someone down. By then, we had already decided to leave. When told we hadn't been helped, the staff's response was a shrug and he proceeded to head to the dance floor with another customer. When we finally decided to walk out, NO ONE tried to stop us, apologize, nothing. Overall, as some of the very few black people there, we felt unwelcome, disrespected, and invisible. My partner and I went to Bloom Bistro last Friday night for a romantic date night following a movie at the Cinemart right up the street. We made a reservation for 8:15 pm, and even though we arrived about 20 minutes early, they sat us right away. We were lucky to be at a small table near the beautiful floral wall and the live performer who happened to be putting on an acoustic show. The inside really is quite lovely. We tried a few of their cocktails, and I enjoyed the Midnight in Paris and their Espresso Martini most of all (they even offered a decaf version for my partner). We loved the chocolate mousse for dessert, and the peach cobbler was nice and a generous portion. My partner had originally ordered the apple pie, which was a miss for us, but our very kind server offered a replacement instead (the mousse). The highlight of my meal was the delicious lobster bisque. Their executive chef introduced himself to us afterwards when we were wrapping up, and he was very nice, too. I've been intrigued by Bloom Bistro since it opened. Looking at the menu online nothing really screamed out to me, but we wanted to give it a try. Walking in the vibe is lovely, flower walls to make it Instagram worthy...the hostess will even pull out a ring light for you to get the perfect picture. The staff, was awesome, from the moment we stepped in to the moment we stepped out everyone was so warm and kind. We opt'd for a hightop table in the bar area and it was a lovely choice. Our waiter (also the bartender) was great and offered his favorites as suggestions. While the cocktails looked amazing, we were up for some wine and they offered up some decent options by the glass. We started out with the Kung Pao calamari, it was delicious! Such a unique and tasty take on a classic. We then got the chicken pot pie and the airline chicken. The pot pie had a lovely flaky puff pastry crust on top with great flavors. Temperature-wise it should have been served hotter, but I gobbled it up anyway. The Airline Chicken is served with mushroom rice pilaf and a white bean sauce. The sauce on it's own was pretty salty, but when you got a bite of everything together it was all balanced and quite tasty. We were told that all desserts are made in house, so we had to give it a go. The carrot cake was amazing and instead of raisins (which I hate) it included cranberries and it was wonderful and not to mention huge! Went for Mother's Day with my son and my Salmon was undercooked, never knew there could be such a thing. Our waitress may have been overwhelmed by the Mothers Day rush but we had to ask more than once for the glasses of water. I think overall while a very photogenic spot I may have to give it another visit when there's not as many patrons. I'm giving four stars to this place only for the ambience, very kind and attentive service, and the Kung pao calamari & crème brûlée. Upon entering the establishment, I noticed all the beautiful floral arrangements but then I noticed the smell of the bathroom, although the door was closed. It just didn't smell fresh in there. For drinks, I ordered a blueberry lemonade, which was nice and refreshing. Not too sweet. I ordered the kung pao calamari for appetizer, and it was the best thing I ate there. It was perfectly fried, not too tough. It had a nice crispy batter that was very light and airy. The star of that dish was the Kung pow sauce, which was sweet yet savory with the freshness of the scallions cutting through.LOVED IT. I ordered for my main dish the filet mignon, which first taste reminded me of something that you ate a wedding. The cut of meat looked odd, and the gravy and the steak itself was quite bland. The potatoes and the accompanying vegetables were roasted well they tasted better than the steak itself. I don't think the food matched the price. I ended up having to use the restroom and the bathroom was the culprit of the smell in the restaurant. Again it just didn't smell fresh or clean although it was fairy physically clean. The smell kind of just permeated throughout the restaurant. So I would recommend that the staff work on making sure they clean the restrooms often. read more

The food and ambiance at Bloom is phenomenal. Had an excellent experience here for a celebratory group dinner. The every corner of the space is decorated beautifully, including the ceiling of the bathrooms! City vibes with Queens hospitality. The food was an absolute delight. The unanimous crowd favorites were the Kung Pao Calamari and the Lobster Pappardelle. The menu is very vegetarian friendly and offers an interesting twist on most items. The service was lovely all the way through. Everyone was kind and attentive to our group, and even helped us take photos at the end of our meal. The medley of honks and horns left little distraction, it's painful to become aware that I've grown immune in my seven weeks back to my town with two left before a much needed departure. In Lieu of Flowers ($15.00) was tart enough to need to quickly back it up with a beer and a shot - buying more bar stock in lieu of a cheaper bill wasn't the focus, supporting Mario's (& partner) new venture was. Even for the prior business at this large space, I do what I can in the shadows by myself. I sat outside w/ pups watching the cribs and carriages rolling up to Carvel next door in preparation for the evenings ice cream. These babies all slept and magically awake all at once as one, that is - when the cones arrived. I watched as I forked my Kung Pao Calamari which once upon a time I believe had peanuts and vegetables which could be a travesty of seafoodie food, yet the sesame seeds worked quite well to compliment this dish, perhaps the calamari could have been a bit tighter without the tougher texture. To the right there is a door with a few loafers loafing within and just beyond the bar, presiding a Juan Valdez top hat stood an eyeing fellow who leaned deeply, clad in a long solid white shirt with an oil seared moustache. His demeanor was unpleasant to me, as his continued stares had my chair inching clockwise towards the local traffic rumble which I hadn't wanted because it was away from the beautifully appointed interior, towards the noise. This I found particularly disturbing as I began to attempt to enjoy my Mediterranean Artichokes and so continued he's accelerated movements while too affixed to myself and a few of the other few guests. What a relief it'd have been if he introduced himself and asked how our evening was and perhaps if we were enjoying our meal. A lightly munching neighbor at another table came up to me to say "I think he's the manager " as he bowled himself up and down the bar conversating with staffers and acting peculiar. read more

I ate brunch at Bloom today with a group of friends, and I had a really nice time. First, you can't write a review about this place without talking about the ambiance. It was beautiful. From the moment you walk in the door you're greeted with bright and colorful flowers everywhere. Definitely a photo-worthy place. Even the bathroom was gorgeous. We ordered off of the brunch menu, although none of us opted for the bottomless option. I ordered the fluff stack. The pancakes were really good and left me stuffed. However, I was a little disappointed by the syrup. I could have misunderstood, but I thought blueberry maple syrup was something more than regular maple syrup with blueberries thrown in them. As a table, we shared a side of tater tots and an order of sweet mini donuts. The donuts were really good--soft, fluffy, and had a great coating of chocolate and cinnamon sugar. The staff at Bloom were wonderful. I secretly judge places by how fast they can fill my water glass, and it was never empty, haha. Upon entering with our luggage after arriving at LaGuardia and taking an Uber here, we were greeted in the most warm, welcoming and funny manner by whom I presume was either an owner or manager. We were seated quickly and made our drink orders of the Hibiscus Margarita and One Winged Angel. Everything on the menu is noted as Vegan, Gluten Free and Vegetarian, as all restaurants should aspire to do! I asked about the buckwheat noodles, hoping the dish with them in it would or could be made gluten free, and apparently there is wheat mixed in with the (gf) buckwheat. Oh well, there were plenty of other options. We ordered the Ahi Watermelon Sushi, Succulent Grilled Artichoke, Hand Cut French Fries, Bibimbap Bowl and Pesto Garganelli with corn rigatoni pasta to make it GF. The food came out quickly and was served to us by several employees who were polite and efficient. While I was taking photos, one of them brought an extra light to the table to make the pictures better. That was impressive! Our server seemed a bit timid about our gluten free questions and didn't really pay much attention to our table after the food arrived. I wanted to order another drink after my husband got his second of the Aeromexico but there were no visits back to our table. When we were done with our food, she did return and I tried to order a second Hibiscus Marg, but they were out of some of ingredients, so it was probably for the best. It's a newer restaurant, so I understand the learning curve and know the service will be even better the next time! The interior design is beautiful and it has an amazing vibe. Came here for Valentine's Day dinner with my boyfriend. The restaurant itself is very cute and has a cozy atmosphere, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, the service timing was a big issue. We waited over an hour and 30 minutes for our food. The chicken pot pie was disappointing, and the salmon was overcooked. The shrimp appetizer was actually really good, but it didn't come out until after we had already finished our main dishes. Other tables around us seemed to be waiting just as long, if not longer. We did so without a reservation and were seated pretty quickly The place is definitely beautiful. The flowers everywhere are a great touch and well put together. The place also feels very clean and spacious. From beginning to end the service was really good. And a bonus was that Alfred (I guess manager or owner?) swung by to make sure everything was going well and helped us get to know the restaurant better. I let him know that as teetotalers we really appreciate having thoughtful mocktail options, and he shared how a family member has been sober for decades and motivated him to add those options. The menu is very unique and fun. It's a good balance of offering variety and not overwhelming. The food itself was pretty tasty. This place is a vibe! My husband took me here for my birthday and it was so memorable. Highly recommend if you're looking for a spot to celebrate any occasion. It's such an experience. The decor is incredible upon entering to sitting down. Even their bathroom is decorated. Felt like we were dining in an upscale restaurant in Manhattan. The kids loved the entire experience and so did I. Service is friendly and our waitress was incredible. She was kind, attentive and helpful. We all enjoyed the food. Entrees were better than appetizers so I would certainly save room for that. Chicken Winglet Lollipops - it was okay. I liked the crunch and it was a good appetizer for kids - easy to hold and eat without being messy. Got the miso ginger sauce on the side which was good but I like my chicken as is. I can do without it next time. Kobe Meatballs - I felt so ripped off with this because it was so small. Three little meatballs (imagine Ikea size) on top of a mini salad of wonton crisps. The crisps were good but just wish the meatballs were a bit bigger. Definitely skipping for next time but glad I tried it. Mac and cheese - can't go wrong with kids and so they liked it. Now onto the best dishes which all had great presentation. Braised Short Rib - this was amazing. Everyone liked this dish. You could taste the love that went into this meal. The short rib was perfect. Polenta fries were terrific. The brussel sprout mix was divine. I loved this dish and will order again in the future. Airline Chicken - this was pretty good. The chicken was tender and cooked well. I liked the rice pilaf but was thrown off by the texture. Some grains were harder than others. Overall decent and would have been better if the rice was consistent but not sure if it's supposed to be that way? Pan-Seared Verlasso Salmon - another winner. The salmon was perfectly cooked. We loved hearing the crunch of the skin as we delved into the meal. I really liked the saffron Moroccan cous-cous and sautéed bok choy with chimichurri. Such a great combo! We also tried the dessert - creme brulee and molten lava cake. All good. Such an enjoyable time, atmosphere, great service and best of all - their music was so lovely. The veggie gyoza are unreal 10/10 I would order this over and over and over they are really great! I also got the succulent grilled artichokes I thought they were good they did have a lot of oil or sauce on top of them which took away from them a little. Moving right on over to the entree the VEGAN chik'n pot pie was delicious great portion nice flavoring I've had similar ones in nyc this is a must try. Spicy calamarata was good not overly spicy & the drop peppers had a nice crunch to them some sweet some spicy this was a good dish. The pasta was cooked well and presentation was on point. The jumbo seared long island scallops were good great portion size and the scallops were prepared perfectly. They also were paired with a mushroom risotto that was tasty I really enjoyed this dish. For dessert I chose a flaming banana presentation was great the set it on fire at the table but the taste was good the alcohol was strong gave me a little boost. Subject: Deep Concern Over Discriminatory Treatment and ADA Noncompliance I am writing to express my deep disappointment and outrage following my recent experience with Bloom Botanical Bistro. My friend Alex and I had been looking forward to reconnecting over a late lunch before heading to Eddie's Sweet Shop for dessert. Wanting to ensure everything would go smoothly, I called ahead to confirm our plans and stated that I would be bringing my service dog, Buddy. I made it very clear that Buddy is my service dog, complete with his official vest. Yet, without a single question or attempt to understand my situation, the person answering the phone curtly informed me that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant. The dismissive tone, capped off with a sarcastic "good luck," left me feeling not just unwelcome but deeply hurt and demeaned as a customer and as a person with a disability. This experience was not only upsetting but also against federal law. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), restaurants and other public businesses are required to allow service animals to accompany individuals with disabilities in all areas open to the public. Staff may only ask two questions: Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? What work or task has the dog been trained to perform? They cannot deny entry to a service dog or treat a customer disrespectfully for having one. As someone who relies on Buddy for legitimate reasons, this encounter left me feeling humiliated, excluded, and disgusted. I truly hope Bloom Botanical Bistro takes immediate steps to train its staff on ADA compliance and how to respectfully interact with guests who have service animals. Until then, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone who values inclusion, respect, or accessibility. read more

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Bloom before heading to a show at Forest Hills. The food and service were excellent, but what truly impressed us was the diverse menu--there was something for everyone. If you love steaks or burgers, you'll find great options. Seafood lovers have excellent choices, and vegetarians, vegans, and those who are gluten-free are all well catered for. Our group of four ordered across all these categories, and everyone really enjoyed their meal. Afterward, at the Forest Hills arena, we discovered that Bloom's owners operate a stand called Nick's Bistro. The food there is just as good--I especially recommend the spring rolls. I booked this place to hang with a friend for their unique menu. They have a Beet Wellington that I wanted to try. Made a reservation and there happened to be a large party in the center of the restaurant. The wait staff was a little busy and it took a little while for anyone to come. When we got Thais, she was a welcomed surprise. Her sweetness and easy personality was perfect for us. She took really good care of us from that point on. Looks like she was helping behind the bar and taking care of us simultaneously. She made great suggestions that we enjoyed. The veggies chips to start followed by the short ribs. I was more happily surprised when it came with Brussels sprouts!! We decided not to drink too much but enjoyed a Paloma drink and a an espresso martini. Bit overpriced, but excellent food overall. Red Beet Wellington (entree) is creative and beautifully presented albeit not quite as satisfying as it looked. Only recommended for those who truly LOVE beets. Flaky pastry exterior was beautifully executed. Fries (side) were outstanding. Veggie chips (appetizer) were excellent. Paper thin vegetable discs lightly breaded and fried. Not oily, crisp, and with two dipping choices. Brussels (side) were well prepared and seasoned, heavy on the sweet balsamic. Mac and cheese (side) was tasty but unremarkable. Roux based cheese sauce style with bread crumb topping as opposed to melted cheese throughout or on top. (expect zero cheese pull here) The power bowl was delectable but not a traditional "bowl" at all (a one bowl meal with a base of grains). It's just a medium size salad on a plate with a tiny bit of quinoa sprinkled in the mix. Would come more regularly if not for the price. Just the above ran us $100 for one entree, one app, salad, and two sides. This price did not include the fries which were delivered to our table by accident. read more

3.5 stars but rounding up! Restaurant was beautiful inside, just as pictured, and clean which is wonderful. The food was pretty good. Some dishes were better than others. My scallops were cooked perfectly and I appreciated that they allowed me to sub risotto for mashed potatoes. My mom had the special surf and turf. That was pretty good as well though some of the sauce on the steak was a bit too salty. Portions are small and a bit overpriced. There was a special goat cheese salad we ordered and it looked like a side for $21 don't think that was justified given the salads contents but it did taste delicious! We also had the wings as an appetizer. Super tiny and just ok. Also over priced. Though the entrees were fairly priced. My sister enjoyed her burger and fries but she said it lacked flavor on the burger. And my dad's chicken was bland. Would definitely skip that one. The Brussels sprouts may have been my favorite dish. Not overly sweet and perfectly crispy. Overall, the waiter was accommodating and nice. I do recommend visiting for some great photos. read more

I ordered 2 takeout power bowls from Bloom and was very disappointed. The bowl was described as having quinoa, spinach, kale and beets. It was mostly lettuce with some sprinklings of quinoa. Awful Mother's Day experience! Went with my family of 4 ,started perfectly fine. Appetizer came out with barely enough chips for guacamole, asked for extras and was told it would be an extra charge. what ???? Then it went downhill from there. Food was eh! My daughter waited for a hamburger for over a half hour while the rest of us waited for hers while our food got cold. Service sucked! Food eh! Will not return ever! read more
