Got lured to this place after seeing a post about it from Instagram. First off, the place is very pretty and definitely photo Instagram worthy. Lots of flowers, garden like atmosphere, even the bathroom had flowers and ivy on the ceiling. Just gorgeous! The service was good too. Very nice server, quick and attentive. Where they fell short was food. The menu was all over the place. This place isn't known for fusion but that's what the menu appears to be. There were Korean dishes, Italian, Mediterranean, American... like I said..all over the place. I had the bibimbap. It was not the traditional Korean clay pot kind, it was cold, on a plate and basically deconstructed. We had the mushroom calamari for appetizers and that was actually pretty good and the vegetarian takoyaki...was very dry and bland bland bland. My friend had the spicy calamarata. It was very bland, had some spice to it but seemed like that was the only seasoning they put in there. My other friend had the braised short rib. The meat was very tender but same shortcoming as everything else ...bland. Their saving grace was the mushroom appetizer and side of brussel sprouts. Would go back for drinks only as they were pretty good and photo op but definitely do not recommend the food unless you bring your own seasoning. read more

This is the perfect Valentine's Day date night. They do a great job setting up the decor to create a romantic atmosphere. Flowers everywhere, mood lighting, live jazz, free photographs and a special menu. Prices are reasonable and service is good too. My husband doesn't eat much meat and they had a lot of vegan/ vegetarian options. I loved their squash soup off the Valentine's Day menu and edamame guac. I was pleasantly surprised with how tasty the beet Wellington was. I was a little disappointed in the lobster of my pappardelle - not much lobster meat and it was chopped up in to thin slices but it he flavors are good and the portion was big. I would try the scallop next time. Overall a very interesting menu. Will be back! read more

5 stars for service 1 star for food. Our waitress was Briana and she was very sweet and attentive. We did have to wait a bit for our food. The place was having a baby shower so I assume that was why. My mother's food was cold though and they did forget her bun, although she said she couldn't eat it it was so bland. I got the avocado toast which says it's a mix of avocado and edamame but if there was avocado in there I wouldn't know it was just edamame flavored. It also said there was everything bagel seasoning on it and there definitely wasn't. If it wasn't for how nice and attentive Briana was I'd give this place 1 stars read more

Had a great experience, both gastronomically and musically at Bloom botanical bistro. On Thursday they have jazz bands and we listened to an excellent young Trio. And the food was delicious. I had a short rib burger with caramelized, onions and Gruyère. My wife had a chicken pot pie. They also have entrees as well. Delicious drinks. read more

The restaurant itself is beautiful. The floral decor and murals on the walls really create a nice ambience. This particular night, they were hosting a sip and paint. They didn't mention it when we made a reservation and when we entered the restaurant, there were maybe about five table tables that were not occupied by the event. We completely understood the fact that the wait staff was also serving the event, and expected delays in service. When our waiter came over to apologize for not being as attentive as he felt he could have been, we told him we completely understand not a problem. That being said, and even giving him the benefit of the doubt, we did not feel like welcomed guests at this restaurant. The attitude towards us asking questions about the menu, being indecisive about menu items seemed to put him completely off. We asked a question about one of the appetizers and he gave us a snarky answer. When it came time for dessert, we ordered an Affogato, which wasn't on the menu, but assuming it was an espresso with ice cream, didn't mention our allergy to nuts. When the cup came out, the rim of the cup was lined with chocolate and a mix of nuts. All we did was mention at that point that we had a food allergy, which clearly displeased our waiter greatly and when we asked for a different one without nuts on it, his attitude changed drastically. We finished up, paid the bill, left a normal tip and when we said good night to the waiter, he didn't so much as even say good night or thank us for coming - nothing at all. Now I'm one to believe you never know what someone is going through and I'm very sorry if he was having a bad day but it kind of put a damper on our dining this evening. The food itself was good but the overall experience left a bad in our mouths. read more

I've been intrigued by Bloom Bistro since it opened. Looking at the menu online nothing really screamed out to me, but we wanted to give it a try. Walking in the vibe is lovely, flower walls to make it Instagram worthy...the hostess will even pull out a ring light for you to get the perfect picture. The staff, was awesome, from the moment we stepped in to the moment we stepped out everyone was so warm and kind. We opt'd for a hightop table in the bar area and it was a lovely choice. Our waiter (also the bartender) was great and offered his favorites as suggestions. While the cocktails looked amazing, we were up for some wine and they offered up some decent options by the glass. We started out with the Kung Pao calamari, it was delicious! Such a unique and tasty take on a classic. We then got the chicken pot pie and the airline chicken. The pot pie had a lovely flaky puff pastry crust on top with great flavors. Temperature-wise it should have been served hotter, but I gobbled it up anyway. The Airline Chicken is served with mushroom rice pilaf and a white bean sauce. The sauce on it's own was pretty salty, but when you got a bite of everything together it was all balanced and quite tasty. We were told that all desserts are made in house, so we had to give it a go. The carrot cake was amazing and instead of raisins (which I hate) it included cranberries and it was wonderful and not to mention huge! A great place for dinner and they also have lots of vegan options so there are meals to please almost everyone. I'm looking forward to trying their brunch and cocktails. read more

The place has a very cool decor, very trendy. There was a guy coming around singing happy birthday to everyone. He has a deep opera like voice. He sat and spoke with my son for a bit and then started singing. They had bubbles, and a sparkler ..it was very unique and special. It felt like the singer really cared, like he could have been an owner vibe. I think that personal touch really resonated with me. read more

The food and ambiance at Bloom is phenomenal. Had an excellent experience here for a celebratory group dinner. The every corner of the space is decorated beautifully, including the ceiling of the bathrooms! City vibes with Queens hospitality. The food was an absolute delight. The unanimous crowd favorites were the Kung Pao Calamari and the Lobster Pappardelle. The menu is very vegetarian friendly and offers an interesting twist on most items. The service was lovely all the way through. Everyone was kind and attentive to our group, and even helped us take photos at the end of our meal. We all left with a new favorite place to visit and will be back to get our favorites and explore the fun menu! read more

Loved the atmosphere, loved the food, loved my drink (had one Hibiscus Margarita which was delish! (side note- I went to a brunch and did not get to partake the bottomless mimosas because I had to drive!) but everything was lovely. I was genuinely excited to visit Bloom Botanical Bistro, as it had been on my list for months. Unfortunately, my experience last night with three friends was deeply disappointing from the moment we arrived. When we asked if there were tables available, we were just told to "sit anywhere" with no guidance. Once seated, a busboy removed a few glasses but left the table dirty, and we had to ask him to come back and clean it properly. After that, we were completely ignored. No one brought menus, offered water, or even acknowledged our presence. Despite being seated in clear view of staff, including bartenders, waiters, a hostess, and a bouncer, not a single person checked on us. Servers walked past us multiple times without so much as eye contact. It was clear we were being overlooked. In fact, it took guests at a nearby table feeling sorry for us to flag someone down. By then, we had already decided to leave. When told we hadn't been helped, the staff's response was a shrug and he proceeded to head to the dance floor with another customer. When we finally decided to walk out, NO ONE tried to stop us, apologize, nothing. Overall, as some of the very few black people there, we felt unwelcome, disrespected, and invisible. This was not the experience we hoped for and it safe to say that I will not be returning. read more

The medley of honks and horns left little distraction, it's painful to become aware that I've grown immune in my seven weeks back to my town with two left before a much needed departure. In Lieu of Flowers ($15.00) was tart enough to need to quickly back it up with a beer and a shot - buying more bar stock in lieu of a cheaper bill wasn't the focus, supporting Mario's (& partner) new venture was. Even for the prior business at this large space, I do what I can in the shadows by myself. I sat outside w/ pups watching the cribs and carriages rolling up to Carvel next door in preparation for the evenings ice cream. These babies all slept and magically awake all at once as one, that is - when the cones arrived. I watched as I forked my Kung Pao Calamari which once upon a time I believe had peanuts and vegetables which could be a travesty of seafoodie food, yet the sesame seeds worked quite well to compliment this dish, perhaps the calamari could have been a bit tighter without the tougher texture. To the right there is a door with a few loafers loafing within and just beyond the bar, presiding a Juan Valdez top hat stood an eyeing fellow who leaned deeply, clad in a long solid white shirt with an oil seared moustache. His demeanor was unpleasant to me, as his continued stares had my chair inching clockwise towards the local traffic rumble which I hadn't wanted because it was away from the beautifully appointed interior, towards the noise. This I found particularly disturbing as I began to attempt to enjoy my Mediterranean Artichokes and so continued he's accelerated movements while too affixed to myself and a few of the other few guests. What a relief it'd have been if he introduced himself and asked how our evening was and perhaps if we were enjoying our meal. A lightly munching neighbor at another table came up to me to say "I think he's the manager " as he bowled himself up and down the bar conversating with staffers and acting peculiar. read more

I ate brunch at Bloom today with a group of friends, and I had a really nice time. First, you can't write a review about this place without talking about the ambiance. It was beautiful. From the moment you walk in the door you're greeted with bright and colorful flowers everywhere. Definitely a photo-worthy place. Even the bathroom was gorgeous. We ordered off of the brunch menu, although none of us opted for the bottomless option. I ordered the fluff stack. The pancakes were really good and left me stuffed. However, I was a little disappointed by the syrup. I could have misunderstood, but I thought blueberry maple syrup was something more than regular maple syrup with blueberries thrown in them. As a table, we shared a side of tater tots and an order of sweet mini donuts. The donuts were really good--soft, fluffy, and had a great coating of chocolate and cinnamon sugar. The staff at Bloom were wonderful. I secretly judge places by how fast they can fill my water glass, and it was never empty, haha. The waitress was super attentive and offered us great suggestions from the menu. read more

Four stars for service and cocktails. Very busy on a Saturday night which is nice to see for a new restaurant and the neighborhood. Brian was our server and he's a great bartender. Dirty martinis, mezcal margaritas and espresso martinis. All good!! Desserts (going backwards) apple pie has WAY too much clove and the peach cobbler was good if a bit soupy. Kung pao calamari was very good. Small portion though. Edamame guacamole was also good. Also small portion. Bimibap with grilled shrimp was very good. Tuna tartare was very good. Burgers are not that great. A bit dense and chewy. Sweet potato fries are very good. All together a cool place. Best for cocktails. Good service. read more

I made an online order. Every item in my order was wrong. I called about 6 times and was hung up on every time. I reached the catering department who told me to call their other restaurant Nick's Bistro that's on the same street. When I called Nicks Bistro the man at the front desk coldly told me he can't transfer my call and they're too busy to help. Bloom never answered my calls or called me back. This was a pretty costly order and I am a frequent costumer at Blooms and expected better customer service. What was wrong with my order made it so that I couldn't eat any of it. The whole order went to waste. With all the money I've spent at Bloom I would have liked a refund from them for this order or my correct order sent to me. read more

What a fantastic find. Bloom Botanical Bistro is what all restaurants should aspire to be. Upon entering with our luggage after arriving at LaGuardia and taking an Uber here, we were greeted in the most warm, welcoming and funny manner by whom I presume was either an owner or manager. We were seated quickly and made our drink orders of the Hibiscus Margarita and One Winged Angel. Everything on the menu is noted as Vegan, Gluten Free and Vegetarian, as all restaurants should aspire to do! I asked about the buckwheat noodles, hoping the dish with them in it would or could be made gluten free, and apparently there is wheat mixed in with the (gf) buckwheat. Oh well, there were plenty of other options. We ordered the Ahi Watermelon Sushi, Succulent Grilled Artichoke, Hand Cut French Fries, Bibimbap Bowl and Pesto Garganelli with corn rigatoni pasta to make it GF. The food came out quickly and was served to us by several employees who were polite and efficient. While I was taking photos, one of them brought an extra light to the table to make the pictures better. That was impressive! Our server seemed a bit timid about our gluten free questions and didn't really pay much attention to our table after the food arrived. I wanted to order another drink after my husband got his second of the Aeromexico but there were no visits back to our table. When we were done with our food, she did return and I tried to order a second Hibiscus Marg, but they were out of some of ingredients, so it was probably for the best. It's a newer restaurant, so I understand the learning curve and know the service will be even better the next time! The interior design is beautiful and it has an amazing vibe. I'm going to be looking for excuses to come back! read more

Definitely heard a lot of good things about this spot. And it totally lived up to the hype! Humid summer Saturday early evening when we dropped by. We did so without a reservation and were seated pretty quickly The place is definitely beautiful. The flowers everywhere are a great touch and well put together. The place also feels very clean and spacious. From beginning to end the service was really good. And a bonus was that Alfred (I guess manager or owner?) swung by to make sure everything was going well and helped us get to know the restaurant better. I let him know that as teetotalers we really appreciate having thoughtful mocktail options, and he shared how a family member has been sober for decades and motivated him to add those options. The menu is very unique and fun. It's a good balance of offering variety and not overwhelming. The food itself was pretty tasty. Bonus points that they source their chocolate from Aigner across the street. Highly recommend folks check this place out. read more

My partner and I went to Bloom Bistro last Friday night for a romantic date night following a movie at the Cinemart right up the street. We made a reservation for 8:15 pm, and even though we arrived about 20 minutes early, they sat us right away. We were lucky to be at a small table near the beautiful floral wall and the live performer who happened to be putting on an acoustic show. The inside really is quite lovely. We tried a few of their cocktails, and I enjoyed the Midnight in Paris and their Espresso Martini most of all (they even offered a decaf version for my partner). We loved the chocolate mousse for dessert, and the peach cobbler was nice and a generous portion. My partner had originally ordered the apple pie, which was a miss for us, but our very kind server offered a replacement instead (the mousse). The highlight of my meal was the delicious lobster bisque. Their executive chef introduced himself to us afterwards when we were wrapping up, and he was very nice, too. Great service, delightful staff, great experience. read more

This place is a vibe! My husband took me here for my birthday and it was so memorable. Highly recommend if you're looking for a spot to celebrate any occasion. It's such an experience. The decor is incredible upon entering to sitting down. Even their bathroom is decorated. Felt like we were dining in an upscale restaurant in Manhattan. The kids loved the entire experience and so did I. Service is friendly and our waitress was incredible. She was kind, attentive and helpful. We all enjoyed the food. Entrees were better than appetizers so I would certainly save room for that. Chicken Winglet Lollipops - it was okay. I liked the crunch and it was a good appetizer for kids - easy to hold and eat without being messy. Got the miso ginger sauce on the side which was good but I like my chicken as is. I can do without it next time. Kobe Meatballs - I felt so ripped off with this because it was so small. Three little meatballs (imagine Ikea size) on top of a mini salad of wonton crisps. The crisps were good but just wish the meatballs were a bit bigger. Definitely skipping for next time but glad I tried it. Mac and cheese - can't go wrong with kids and so they liked it. Now onto the best dishes which all had great presentation. Braised Short Rib - this was amazing. Everyone liked this dish. You could taste the love that went into this meal. The short rib was perfect. Polenta fries were terrific. The brussel sprout mix was divine. I loved this dish and will order again in the future. Airline Chicken - this was pretty good. The chicken was tender and cooked well. I liked the rice pilaf but was thrown off by the texture. Some grains were harder than others. Overall decent and would have been better if the rice was consistent but not sure if it's supposed to be that way? Pan-Seared Verlasso Salmon - another winner. The salmon was perfectly cooked. We loved hearing the crunch of the skin as we delved into the meal. I really liked the saffron Moroccan cous-cous and sautéed bok choy with chimichurri. Such a great combo! We also tried the dessert - creme brulee and molten lava cake. All good. Such an enjoyable time, atmosphere, great service and best of all - their music was so lovely. I can't wait to go back! read more

I'm giving four stars to this place only for the ambience, very kind and attentive service, and the Kung pao calamari & crème brûlée. Upon entering the establishment, I noticed all the beautiful floral arrangements but then I noticed the smell of the bathroom, although the door was closed. It just didn't smell fresh in there. For drinks, I ordered a blueberry lemonade, which was nice and refreshing. Not too sweet. I ordered the kung pao calamari for appetizer, and it was the best thing I ate there. It was perfectly fried, not too tough. It had a nice crispy batter that was very light and airy. The star of that dish was the Kung pow sauce, which was sweet yet savory with the freshness of the scallions cutting through.LOVED IT. I ordered for my main dish the filet mignon, which first taste reminded me of something that you ate a wedding. The cut of meat looked odd, and the gravy and the steak itself was quite bland. The potatoes and the accompanying vegetables were roasted well they tasted better than the steak itself. I don't think the food matched the price. I ended up having to use the restroom and the bathroom was the culprit of the smell in the restaurant. Again it just didn't smell fresh or clean although it was fairy physically clean. The smell kind of just permeated throughout the restaurant. So I would recommend that the staff work on making sure they clean the restrooms often. read more

I loved it and i didn't think it was spicy French fries (they were thick but not as thick as steak fries) Brussel sprouts (amazing) spiral mac and cheese burger (good flavor) chicken pot pie (flaky, nice sized) Everything was great! Is this place for real? Stopped in for drinks and appetizers (8 people). First, they have no Rose wine (only one glass left). Then they have no flavored vodka. Requested a beer on tap- nope! Took at least 40 minutes to get a few glasses of wine. The apps came long before the drinks. Note: there was only one other table in the restaurant (they seemed to know the staff - got their food and mixed cocktails pronto! Came here for dinner and had a wonderful experience I've passed this place a few times and finally got my chance to give it a go. Walking into this entrance is beautiful and def a great place to snap a photo but if you don't there's plenty of photo opportunities inside. I started out to drink with a hibiscus margarita and it was amazing great taste only thing I needed was a bigger glass. I am in love with espresso martinis so I had to get 2 they were also delish. Now let's get into this food I started off with veggie chips they were good come in many different sizes after a while I wanted to move on but my friend did enjoy them also. The veggie gyoza are unreal 10/10 I would order this over and over and over they are really great! I also got the succulent grilled artichokes I thought they were good they did have a lot of oil or sauce on top of them which took away from them a little. Moving right on over to the entree the VEGAN chik'n pot pie was delicious great portion nice flavoring I've had similar ones in nyc this is a must try. Spicy calamarata was good not overly spicy & the drop peppers had a nice crunch to them some sweet some spicy this was a good dish. The pasta was cooked well and presentation was on point. The jumbo seared long island scallops were good great portion size and the scallops were prepared perfectly. They also were paired with a mushroom risotto that was tasty I really enjoyed this dish. For dessert I chose a flaming banana presentation was great the set it on fire at the table but the taste was good the alcohol was strong gave me a little boost. I do wish the banana was softer, it came with ice cream I say try it. Service was great my server also gave some suggestions to help move along. Can't wait to return read more

Bit overpriced, but excellent food overall. Red Beet Wellington (entree) is creative and beautifully presented albeit not quite as satisfying as it looked. Only recommended for those who truly LOVE beets. Flaky pastry exterior was beautifully executed. Fries (side) were outstanding. Veggie chips (appetizer) were excellent. Paper thin vegetable discs lightly breaded and fried. Not oily, crisp, and with two dipping choices. Brussels (side) were well prepared and seasoned, heavy on the sweet balsamic. Mac and cheese (side) was tasty but unremarkable. Roux based cheese sauce style with bread crumb topping as opposed to melted cheese throughout or on top. (expect zero cheese pull here) The power bowl was delectable but not a traditional "bowl" at all (a one bowl meal with a base of grains). It's just a medium size salad on a plate with a tiny bit of quinoa sprinkled in the mix. Would come more regularly if not for the price. Just the above ran us $100 for one entree, one app, salad, and two sides. This price did not include the fries which were delivered to our table by accident. read more
