Fresh ingredients with made to order tortillas make for the best tasting tacos you will have tried! Quick service and fair prices also keep me a repeat customer!

I haven't never dined here but ordered delivery several times. It's hard to find a good Mexican restaurant where I live but this place is one of my favorite spots. Great chicken nachos!

Sometimes you want to satisfy a craving for tacos and a quesadilla that's made with fresh ingredients knowing it's far from authentic, but man oh man-it's still good. The supreme shrimp quesadilla is one of my favorites and the shrimp have a nice bite to them with extremely flavorful guacamole and salsa. The ground beef hard chili taco is another go to for me; the ground beef is flavored perfectly and the taco shell always makes it home still crisp.

Very good Tex-Mex food, but there's no way that a combination dish should cost $15!

During my stay in Queens, I began craving quesadillas so I looked up the nearest spot for a veggie quesadilla. Taco King was not only affordable but it had many options to choose from! I ended up purchasing the black bean taco and the veggie quesadilla. Together it totaled around $7, and it was great for a quick, filling snack. The only downfall about this spot is the lack of credit card machines. That's right folks; Cash Only! Service was great, food was prepared in a timely manner, and the quesadilla and taco were well-seasoned.

Steak tostada platter (salsa and sour cream were given separately)

THIS is your spot for cheap Mexican food! After volleyball practice, my teammates and I would often crowd the place...for good reason. The food is delicious, the prices are low, there's some seating, and you get a can of soda with the entrees. Fast forward 10 years - COVID is gradually subsiding, places are reopening, and my sister and I decide to reminisce and order from Taco King (open for takeout and delivery!). Their tostada salads were our favorite growing up. But we opted with the special combination plates - 1 steak and 1 steak and shrimp with a side of guac. Delivery took a while, but it's expected - PLEASE BE PATIENT WITH RESTAURANTS AND OTHER BUSINESS OPENING UP - we are in the midst of a pandemic, these workers are risking themselves to keep their businesses afloat while you wait at home. We need to support each other! ALSO, DO NOT FORGET TO TIP YOUR DELIVERY PERSON WELL! The food arrived and our apartment smelled like a steak house. We unpacked and felt like we were kids again. We didn't order the tostado shells because we wanted to be "hEaLtHy", which I now regret ANYWHO...the food! I'll start with my least favorite. The guac - very simple and bland, but again it was only $3.50. I was disappointed because...ya' know...guac is guac! On to the main event - my steak salad. UGH, THE SMELL OF THAT GRILLED STEAK WAS EVERYTHING! The platter came with a small salad, sauce, salsa, sour cream, rice, beans, and 2 soft flour tortillas (my fave!). The rice and beans were a great combo, as always. The sour cream gave me life! It was thick, rich, and perfect to spread on the tortillas, ESPECIALLY if you wanted to make tacos with it. The steak was tender and the triggered nostalgia. I do wish there was more salad, but overall the platter was worth it. THE BEST PART - I felt full and not the nasty, bloated type. The happy kind of full. I'm glad this place is still running strong after so many years! I will definitely be back!!

Shrimp salad was amazing

I used ubereats to order my shrimp salad so I can't say much for the inside of the restaurant but I can tell you I cannot wait to order from here again. That salad was one of the most amazing salads I have ever had. It was piled with fresh veggies, grilled veggies like zuchinni and mushrooms, and then perfectly grilled LARGE shrimp. All of the flavors worked so well together and I was so beyond stuffed when I finished it. It was so delicious! I will be back!

Steak quesadilla

Large portions of fresh, flavorful Mexican-American fast food that delivers. What more can a woman want after moving all day? Or for any night that you don't want to cook? I loved the Chef's special burrito, which had chunks of chicken, beef and shrimp. Juicy, seasoned shrimp that was perfectly cooked. The Steak Quesadilla was ok. Cheesy and slightly dry steak. Will definitely call them again.

34. Grilled Chicken Tostada Salad

Ordered here via UberEats. Certainly was not "blown away" by the food. It was very mediocre and it did not help that our UberEats guy was on a bike. The Tex Mex w/ nachos was half way cold. We had to add more cheese and reheat it. The grilled chicken tostado salad was "ok". It came with French dressing, which idk about anyone else, but it does not go well with a tostado salad.

4.50 Guacamole

we ordered through a delivery app since we had a craving. the prices at Taco King has always been a bit inflated even before the recent inflation peaks. the food is EXTREMELY basic and nothing really special, especially for the price. the side of guac in the picture (because there was no option for "full sized" guac AND chips) is a whopping 4.50. honestly i can name a couple other places for mexican food that we will start ordering from that isn't scamming us.

Tacos were ok but the beef lacks seasoning/flavor and most of the things I like on my taco cost extra.

Definitely my go to at least twice a week a little pricey but worth it. Can't go wrong with the taco shrimp salad in the shell.

I enjoy coming to Don Tequila it's a great neighborhood spot with great prices and deals…read more Service is always friendly and humble. The food is delish and well presented Drinks are yummy but could always use some more liquor. Parking in the area is tough and you don't need a reservation. I'm a big fan of Don Tequila, I've been a few times and I'm never disappointed!…read more Nowadays $14 drinks are pretty standard for the Forest Hills area, but the cocktails here are strong and tasty and worth the price. My favorites are the Tiki Colada, which is sweet with a red wine float, and the El Picosito, which is smoky and delicious. The margaritas and mojitos are cheaper and come in a few different flavors - these are also $7 during happy hour. The food is better than you'd expect for a bar. My absolute favorite is the grilled octopus appetizer, which is perfectly cooked every time. They have the classic Mexican staples (tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas, fajitas), and the fish tacos and steak enchiladas are my favorite. The mango salmon and conchinita pibil are also great if you want something a little special. The tortilla soup with chicken is also way underrated, it's hearty, smoky, and perfectly seasoned - I've ordered this to go several times when I was home sick. Prices are pretty standard for Forest Hills, and the happy hour deals are a great value if you want the basics a little cheaper. The space itself is pretty big, and it accommodates large parties or smaller groups. The decor is cute, and there are several TVs always showing different games. As several other reviewers have mentioned, it does get pretty loud in here, especially when they have DJs there on the weekends. It's a matter of preference for sure, so to avoid it I usually go during the week or earlier on the weekends (as in I try to be out by 7pm on Friday-Sunday). This is perfect for me, as the regular playlist is pretty good and I usually catch the happy hour deals. The service is friendly and quick, especially the waitress with the short bob. HOWEVER - sometimes they add an 18% automatic gratuity and sometimes they don't. I've noticed that they typically add it if you're sitting at the bar or during busier times, but I'm not sure if there's a clear rule on this. I get it - they work hard here and the servers don't want to get stiffed by folks who have had a few drinks. It's clearly stated on the receipt, so it's not like they're trying to hide the charges. Either way, make sure that you double check the first receipt that they give you when they bring the check, since the final receipt (the standard one where you sign and tip) isn't itemized. Don Tequila is a reliable neighborhood spot, with great food and drinks. There are ways around most of the things that other reviewers have complained about. I'm happy to have them nearby, and I'll be back soon!
