We always start with the nachos with chorizo. A crowd favorite. Nice heat and great flavors. Went for the steak enchiladas with salsa verde. Their salsa verde is so good and addictive. Vibrant, full of flavor with an excellent heat. My fiance had the chorizo burrito with maduros. The maduros were perfection. Worth the trip if you can come and try.

Lime & Salt is a local spot that draws crowds. My friend and I met there for brunch recently. The…read moreservice came with notable issues. We had to request the brunch menu from the bartender/server (he gave us the regular menu). Since our server was also the bartender (staffing issue) -- I had to go to the bar to request the check. In terms of the food, my burger was good, but on the salty side (probably because of the chorizo). It was also a messy meal. I had to request additional napkins because my hands were dripping with egg yolk. The fries were salty, too, but crispy and firm. My friend enjoyed her dish, for the most part. I'm going to have to give Lime & Salt another try soon. My first visit was just okay.

I think her name was Ruby but she was patient as I tried to figure out what I wanted. I decided to get the tostado with grill chicken, veggies, bank beans, pico de gallo, cheese with mango and chipotle sauce. OMG, the dish was so freaking good. The bits of fresh mango really went well with the other ingredients. I didn't think the dish would be hearty but it was and I was very satisfied. I returned and ordered the same item but this time ordered the honey chipotle which was also good. Prices are reasonable for the area. This will be one of my go to spots in my neighborhood.

For food, my group stuck with the beef, opting for the birria and NY strip steak tacos. Both were very tasty, and made even better with the spicy housemade salsas. The drinks may have been the highlight. I recommend the Volcan in particular. It's a very cessionable and refreshing summery mezcal drink, that could charm even the non-mezcal crowd. I also appreciated that they made a special tiny cheese quesadilla for my one-year old. The bill was high enough that it made me double check the math, and I wish that the taco dishes came with some type of side for $20+ a pop, but overall, Ayy Chihuahua is good enough that I'd come back again, at least for another round of drinks.
