I've been coming here for years. If Joju is closed or I'm trying to go for a more affordable sandwich, this is my go-to Vietnamese sandwich. We ordered Taiwanese popcorn chicken, Vietnamese sandwiches, and bubble tea from here and they were all delicious. They also have rice dishes, noodle dishes, and other Asian appetizers. Orders normally take 15-20 minutes to get so you should always call ahead. I've tried the grilled chicken sandwich and the classic sandwich. I thought the classic sandwich would be more obvious with the meats, but it was not too different in taste. The meats were smaller portions than what you would receive from Joju, but it makes sense since it is cheaper. The popcorn chicken is delicious and definitely something you cannot go wrong with. The bubble teas are more affordable compared to the other spots in the area so this is good, too. I will be back as always.

This is my go to bahn mi spot, I got two bahn mi's. One pork with mild spicy and one chicken with medium spicy. If you can't handle your spice but like a little kick I recommend mild. The baguette is crunchy and decently filled for the price. I usually take it to go bc theres only a few seats and the ambiance is not priority but you can't beat the price. They are pretty speedy as well

I ordered takeout from here and tried their fried fish and classic banh mi sandwiches. They tasted good, but I'd take a star off for the small portions. I also tried their classic iced rice which I had never had before, which was fun to eat. The dessert included purple rice, watermelon, peanuts, snow fungus, corn, raisins, sweet potato balls, and iced syrup on the side. The syrup tasted like aiyu jelly, which is sweet and citrusy.

This small fast-casual style restaurant has a very simple interior, but it can be challenging to feel comfortable due to the bikes and restaurant supplies openly displayed in the dining area. The cashier may initially come across as standoffish, wearing a frowning expression, but we eventually got used to it and didn't mind. They were quite efficient and quick when it came to taking orders. The menu here offers very affordable options, and while you might assume they serve Vietnamese food, they actually present various comfort food from different cuisines (Vietnamese, Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese). We tried the signature noodle soup (3.5/5), which had a spicy and flavorful broth. It was topped with fatty beef and spam, and originally it includes a medley of ingredients such as tofu, cilantro, lotus root, beef meatball, rice cake, wood ear mushroom, and narutomaki. Unfortunately, the quality of the dish has declined. They no longer serve fried tofu with the soup; instead, they have replaced it with silky tofu. Additionally, the meatballs, which used to be part of the dish, are no longer included. The beef banh mi (4/5) had a rich umami flavor thanks to the marinade, and the pickled vegetables provided a good balance to the richness. The popcorn chicken (4/5) was crispy, juicy, and tender, prepared fresh upon ordering.

As a bahn mi connoisseur, I can easily say this is my new favorite bahn mi sandwich. The bread is toasted to the perfect light crispness and it's just the right anount of protein, pickled veggies, cilantro, and mayo all at around $7-8 a sandwich. My favorite are the grilled chicken and fish. Service was fast and friendly and though this place has more of a fast casual vibe, there are still a few tables where you can sit down and eat. I'll be back soon.

This review is for delivery only. My husband and I had a craving for bahn mi and decided to order from Summer for the first time since it's been on our list for a while. We both got the classic and shared an order of Taiwanese popcorn chicken. The food was pretty solid overall. The popcorn chicken was deliciously seasoned and very crispy, despite the fact that it had to travel to get to us. We would definitely order it again. The classic bahn mi was decent; however, I couldn't identify any pâté, and although I saw what I believe was a slice of ham in the sandwich, I couldn't taste it. The pork was very crumbly, almost ground, and it was on the sweeter side, but it was okay. The veggies and cilantro were abundant and dominated the sandwich. They tasted fresh, but they were concentrated on the top two thirds of the sandwich, so most of the bites I took seemed to consist of only veggies. I guess that balances out the popcorn chicken. I would try a different bahn mi next time or perhaps a rice/noodle dish. It was a decent delivery experience though.

I was in the neighborhood and found this place for lunch. The bahn mi was so good! The price is great and the quality of the food was amazing. Also, the teas were good! I really like the bread and even bought a few. I didn't like the fried milk sticks honestly, but everything else was delicious. Wish I lived closer, this place would be me go-to. Price is right, but the food is amazing!

    Deluxe Sandwich & Popcorn Chicken

**Delivery Review** Placed an order through UberEATS on a Saturday evening. Interesting menu of Southeast Asian dishes ranging from rice to noodles to sandwiches. Ordered the Deluxe Sandwich ($9), Tofu Summer Roll ($6), and the Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken ($6.75). The sandwich tasted like your regular banh mi fare - pork, carrot, cucumber, but with egg as well. I believe there should have been bacon as well, but couldn't taste it. Popcorn chicken is a large handful of breaded chicken bites. The ratio of breading to chicken wasn't the best, but the overall flavor is good, especially with a side of spicy mayo ($0.50). Tofu roll had all the accoutrements - yeah needed a lot of hot sauce to add flavor to the tofu base. Delivery was on time and the food was warm on arrival. Meal was overall okay, might opt for a noodle dish next time.

Cute Vietnamese shop with lots of seating. The cashier was kind and made my drinks quick. She also packed the food well. The food is most likely pre-made, the cashier said my order would take 15 minutes, it took about 5 minutes. Great place for affordable Bahn Mi's and a simple noodle or rice dish. A lot of rice and a bit of meat, but a filling meal cheap meal. I had the grilled pork over rice and it was okay. It was not the greatest grilled pork, but it was what I expected for the price ($6). The lychee green tea was okay, the green tea taste was very overpowering so I hardly tasted the lychee flavor. The honeydew milk tea, however, was one of the best honeydew milk teas I've had. It's had a great balanced flavor of honeydew and milk. It wasn't too sweet the bubbles were delicious. tl;dr - affordable food, tastes as I expected, worth the price, the honeydew milk tea is amazing

I've been here a couple of times from when it first opened to present 2021. I think the sandwich quality has gone down. Flavor is there in the meat but there is lacking in quantity in meat now and the sandwiches are generally less packed.

Which I would've been fine with if not the rest of the problems that followed. Second was I didn't receive any utensils or napkins for take out. Lastly and the WORST PART my partner started eating her lemongrass Bun and after eating a couple bites and mixing all of it she saw that the chicken was RAW! My friend also ate the lemongrass chicken banhmi and found the same after a bite or two. I called immediately to ask what happened and the answer I got was "i cooked it myself" And that the chicken was in a brine. Regardless if it is in a brine, chicken should be cooked fully. I also mentioned I had eaten there before and I have never seen their chicken pink and their response was their supply chain is different now. I asked if they could compensate us for the 2 chicken dishes and they said no refunds. I said okay politely because what else could I do besides warn people not to waste their money here. So I decided to write this review. Beware of this restaurant.

My bánh mì was bland, the coffee was forgettable, and nothing justified the price. The bigger issue was how an allergy concern was handled. My partner (someone who has eaten Vietnamese their entire life) ordered bún, which traditionally includes peanuts. Instead, it came topped with mixed nuts , something she's allergic to. When she tried to clarify, a man we assume was the owner's attempt to mitigate was brash and unaccommodating, responding along the lines of "I don't care if you've eaten Vietnamese food before. We do things differently. We're not a 'Vietnamese' restaurant and it's written in the menu". That attitude set the tone. She had to order a pho separately and pay out of pocket just to have something safe to eat. It was also subpar with the wrong noodles and broth that didn't resemble pho. If you want to position yourself as an unconventional or "not typical" Vietnamese spot, that's fine... but you can't have it both ways and then be dismissive or rude when customers are understandably confused. Based on our interaction and the way management responds to reviews, I don't expect this feedback to land anywhere productive. We won't be back.

Since we were one of the first ones to arrive, we got seated a few minutes after they opened. The Banh Mi's: I finally understand why people rave so much about the OG Banh Mi. This restaurant makes their own cold cuts and their paté was delicious. Their bread is also on the airier side, which is very different from most Banh Mi places. The grilled pork had the charcoal flavor that we love from a grill. The Banh Uot Chong is a different experience -- it reminded me of Chinese cheun fun. The only complaint I have is that the line gets very long very fast, so it's highly recommended to arrive 1+ hour before they open. They do have some stools outside for people who arrive early (I think there were a total of 8 chairs). This is one of those places that are worth the hype and are not just famous because they're "Instagrammable."

Perhaps, their version is actually authentic, and the other places I've tried are less so, or they're simply based on different regions of Vietnamese cuisine. I can't say since I'm not familiar with the authenticity and regional differences. The banh mi, which often sells out early but is available for takeout, surprisingly contains pork floss and noodles -- both ingredients are not what I'm accustomed to in banh mis. The house pho was so clean like homemade soup and had a hint of ginseng (like Chinese ginseng soup). My partner, who loves Chinese ginseng soup, was so fond of the pho that he actually went back again for it on another day. He also got the banh uot Chong again, which is a tower of five rice rolls that you can build yourself with assorted toppings and dipping sauces. It's a bit steep for $30 but delicious I advise coming here at least half an hour before the restaurant opens to join the line of people queuing. You'll probably be part of the first batch of customers who get seated when they open. Waiting an extra 30 minutes is way better than having to wait 2+ hours. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by how off their estimated wait time was. I was told my party of 7 would have to wait 2 hours. But we were allowed to leave our contact information and return later. A little past the 2 hour mark, we were told to come back for a table. However, we ended up waiting an additional 30 minutes outside the restaurant! If we knew the wait time would surpass 2 hours, we wouldn't have waited. The interior is pretty cramped, and we were given a pretty small round table for my big party. It barely fit all our dishes.
