We went to the Joju store in Flushing, Tangram Mall located on the 2nd floor. We usually go to the original Elmhurst store. We found out they have another store in the Tangram mall. We order our usual Joju banh-mi fries. The banh-mi fries usually have alot of pickled dicon radish but today in their store we had hardly any. Also, I ordered with no jalapenos but there were some bits of pieces. Overall, the fries has a good kick. I do wish they had added more. Overall, service was fast, friendly. Store was clean. Hopefully next time, they have my order correct.
Quality of food is on the A game. Really enjoyed the banh mi fries, one of my favorite menu items to order when here Super crisp fries, a lot of toppings over it, and so delectable Seating wise it's in a food court so seating will need to be scouted. It can get crowded here at times, but seating can be found Staff also very professional Overall, great spot churning out great food

The sandwich is hefty--with copious amounts of fresh herbs and veggies, a runny egg, and savory bulgogi. The perfect fusion of Korean and Vietnamese (5/5). Also, you get get extra sauce like spicy mayo I think it's a bit pricey though, and you can def get a more authentic bahn mi for less somewhere else. However, Joju is modern and creating a fun twist to their food that I like. --- Service: sometimes the food hall can be really busy, particularly on weekends. But they have a person and a kiosk that can take orders so it's super easy to order. they will text you when the order is ready so you can roam around the mall while you wait. -- Ambiance: the food hall can be loud and lively when it's busy. It's in a food court so it's public seating.
I've been wanting to try JoJu for some time after first hearing about this Korean-Vietnamese fusion Bahn mi shop opening in Elmhurst. I finally ended up getting a chance after stumbling upon their new outpost in the Tangram Mall food court (which honestly I was underwhelmed by after hearing so much hype). The ginger seitan vegetarian option was quite good. It had a nice amount of mayo and got some extra kick from a combo of jalapeños and kimchis as add-ons. Overall a very solid sandwich.
Need a consistently good bite? This is the spot for you in Tangram. Fast moving and not too pricey, Joju delivers fresh Vietnamese flavors. Order from the kiosk or person. You only get two sauces for free. One of them has to be the fish sauce! The bbq pork is a meaty bite that makes you crave for more. The Vietnamese caramel pork is tasty and has amazing texture with every bite. It's tangram so it's going to be loud, you may have difficulty finding a seat in the food hall.

It is a small spot but it's great. They have a small seating area. They have an app you can order online for pickup. They also have an option for delivery, but they use outside delivery services like Grubhub or uber eats. I promise it will become one of your favorites if not your favorite bahn mi spot.
Its inside Tamgram and Ive been to this place many times! Theres a few seats outside of this stall but it gets really crowded during lunch time. I alwayd get the caramelized pork and its always so good! You get a lot for what you waya nd the lychee mojito was really good as well. The service was fast.
Made for white people. The crumbled meat was so sweet it tasted like candy. The rice bowl was incoherent even as i love a good Asian fusion. But the over-sugared meat is the real crime. Maybe the banh mi is better but the server was super enthusiastic about the rice bowl, which imho is less than mid. And nothing like a good rice bowl in queens, which is where this is from. Sigh.
Got the "Bulgolgi Bomb Me" banh mi for lunch on a busy Saturday afternoon. It comes with bulgolgi, kimchi, a fried egg, pickled daikon/carrots, cucumbers, cilantro and mayo. You also get the option of "4 sauces" with your order, which you can get on your sandwich or on the side (for free!) I love extra sauce, so this option is really great. I ended up opting for their spicy mayo which tasted good with the bulgolgi. The meat, bread and everything was 5/5. The banh mi is filling, satisfying and definitely more than enough for a hearty lunch. This was my first time trying the Flushing location, and was very pleasantly surprised! read more

The banh mi is the main reason to come, and the pork versions are where the kitchen shines most. We ordered the caramel pork, which is worth it. The meat is cut down into small pieces that pick up flavor throughout and create a layered bite alongside the pickled vegetables. The tofu banh mi holds up well as a vegetarian option and carries a gingery, carrot forward flavor that works. The bread leans toward a softer, thicker cut rather than the thin, crackling crust of a more traditional Vietnamese version, but it still holds the fillings well without getting soggy. Service is fast and the overall experience is quick. We would come back for the caramel pork banh mi and appreciate that we can be in and out without sacrificing quality or portion size. Popular banh mi spot inside the food court of Tangram (along with many other locations in the city) - with various modern takes on banh mi, bowls, and fries. You can customize your sauce, which I'd recommend adding if you want a slight tang or kick. The Sweet Joju was sweet but still balanced with the mild ham and creamy pate. The Kimchi Fries were loaded with a spicy mayo sauce, fresh kimchi, and crunchy jalapeños. read more

One of my favorite banh mi places in NYC. It's locations inside tangram mall so seating is limited and it's always packed. It's not the cheapest but it's high quality and big. The service is standard and you order from a server or online read more

Super crunchy and big chicken wings! I loved the sweet & sour sauce on the side even though the hot was not actually spicy. The fries are not so great and the kimchi fries had way too much spicy mayo the fries were so drenched you couldn't taste anything else. read more
I loved Joju's original location when I first discovered it many years ago. I was happy to find out that a new location opened in my hometown, Flushing! I got my Beef Bulgogi and it was delicious just how I remembered. I even got an extra sandwich for my out-of-state friend (who loved it when she tasted it as well)! read more

This location of JoJu is located in Tangram Mall's Food Hall. I've had Joju in Elmhurst as well. I ordered the #11 Bulgogi "Bomb Me" Banh Mi. This sandwich has beef bulgogi with extra kimchi & a runny egg with choices of runny, medium, or well done. I chose medium. The sandwich was was split in half and put in separate bags. The bread was fresh and the sandwich was absolutely delicious. I can't wait for the next time I get the opportunity to have a Joju Banh Mi. read more

The bread quality isn't that good anymore. Ive been a customer since there 2010ish days so i have seen their quality over the years. This year, it was doughy and not toasted enough (if toasted). The meat wasn't filed to corners. $10 is normal price in 2024 economy. Fries were good as they were as described (double fried). Service was as expected. read more

We wanted around the food court for quite some time. Because when you're hungry, it's hard to make a decision. The staff is really nice and they have all sorts of other tasty things that I'm sure I'll go back to get next time im in the mall. We decided to get a different things. I chose soy garlic wings and regular twixe fried fries. The staff is really nice and they have all sorts of other tasty things that I'm sure I'll go back to get, especially since everything was made to order. I will say the fries were pretty average, but very the wings..... ohhhh so crispy and delicious. I could tell they had been marinated and the lightly drizzled sauce did not destroy that unbeatable crunch. I wish I would have skipped the fries and got 4 wings to bring to home. I know for the next. My friend enjoyed the bulgogi bahnmi and kimchi fries. She also enjoy your selections. The verdict on her selections pretty much the same. Keep the sandwich, skip the fries. read more
Staffs were friendly, we ordered the lemongrass banh mi sandwich from the kiosk and the sauce can be ordered as a side. There's tons of people, hard to find a spot to sit down and eat in the mall. The bread is delicious maybe because I was hungry. Would recommend coming here to feed your hungry stomach. read more
I've been eating JoJu for yeaarrrssss! I love their OG location in Elmhurst, which has never disappointed. I still remember the first time I tried their banh mi and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, stuffed to the brim with delicious toppings and sauces. This location is the newest one yet, conveniently inside Tangram's food court. You can order at the counter, on a kiosk on the side, or scan the QR code and order online. They will then text you when your order is ready. Despite it being a small space, there were several employees working on fulfilling the orders so I got my food quick! I got the JoJu Monster, which is one of my favorites. Added in all the sauces, including the green sauce which is typically my favorite and also opted in for 2x jalapenos. However, I thought it was lacking in all sauces and jalapenos. I asked them for extra green sauce, which they kindly provided, and the sauce tasted watered down, not very spicy at all. The sandwich was still yummy, but I still prefer the Elmhurst location the best. read more
Happy Lunar New Year! Gong Xi Fa Cai! Joju is located inside Tangram's newest food hall. Today, I came here for a quick bite. I finally crossed Joju off my bookmarks after all these years. I informed the cashier about my food allergies. I requested the employees to change their gloves while making my banh mi. Luckily, I spotted an empty table and zig-zagged through the crowd. Food Beef Bulgogi - I ordered my banh mi without carrots and cilantro. The beef bulgogi and kimchi were so flavorful. My palate was bouncing off the roof! I only tried the Ginger seitan bowl here with rice and it was quiet tasty. The vegetarian beef made with tofu had a nice flavor and texture. The rice was fluffy and soft and loved the sauces they gave you to pour over it. Also ordered the Viet coffee and that was good. Definitely want to come back to try other items. read more
Came in for lunch just because the wifey insisted. However being a real fan of a good Banh Mi, i picked the grilled chicken with extra jalapeños, pickled veggies on a baguette. It was disappointing because they onky out jalapeños on one side of the sandwich, the chicken was not frilled, was more laike sautéed and the bread lacked crunch, overall the sandwhich was just ok. Seems like this place is more of a tourist attraction rather then a food destination. I guess i ate it cause i was hungry but I will definitely not come back. read more
One of my favorite places to go for banh mi is Joju in Elmhurst so you can imagine how thrilled I was to hear they were opening a stall in Tangram's food court. This is their fourth location and they offer a smaller abbreviated menu than the one in Elmhurst. On the menu are some of the more popular banh mi, french fries (plain and loaded), chicken wings, egg rolls and two or three specialty drinks. They don't have any of the rice bowls. I got the Caramel Pork Banh Mi ($9.99) and an order of plain fries with their spicy mayo ($4.95). I'm happy to say this location serves the same delicious food and quality as their original location in Elmhurst. The banh mi was so tasty. I loved the combination of toasted french bread with the sweet Pork and pickled veggies (mostly carrots and radish) with celantro. The sandwich is big and can be shared. The fries were also over the top good. They are doube fried so it's extra crispy but still retains the soft center. The spicy mayo wasn't too spicy. Other things to note, there is a kiosk by the register for ordering. I skipped the line and went right to it and got my food in five minutes! Also, I love that they have the proper number of staff working. They look like they had a good system and was fulfilling orders in a timely manner. read more

Newly opened! Another location to get some great Vietnamese sandwiches, bahn mi. Located in Tangram Mall. My all time favorite is the beef bulgogi sandwich! So tasty! I like it that they give you a generous amount of carrot and radish slaw. Spicy it up with some jalapenos. Or even better, 'bomb' it up with extra kimchi and a runny egg. You have a choice on how much your egg is cooked. i prefer runny, because it creates a wonderful "sauce" that coats the meat nicely! You can order and pay at register or on the touchscreen on the counter, located to the right of the register. The servers are doing great. Even though there was a crowd, my order came out pretty quickly. Your receipt will have a number on the top and they will call it out. This is in a food court so there is plenty of seating. Come check it out! There is indoor parking in this building. Bathrooms on 2nd floor are located right before entering the main food court, right next to Cafe Maiko, which is under construction. I want to love this place, but their sandwiches are so overrated. These are not authentic and way too much bread. The service is slow and takes a while to make. I'll understand if it tasted good, but all that time to make mediocre and pricey sandwiches. I'm super surprised they're so popular, and I still have no idea why. Tried the regular joju, the sweet joju, which was decent, and the super greasy bulgogi banh mi. read more
Walked around Tangram and really didn't know what to get. Finally decided to get Joju and so glad we did! Would love to come back and try other items on the menu! Ordered: - Loaded kimchi fries $11.99 - Can't go wrong with kimchi and a running egg! Packed with flavor, although I would if it would better if I got the sauce on the side. The fried got a bit soggy because of the sauce and kimchi made the fries very salty. - Caramel pork bowl with white rice and spicy mayo $10.99 - Wow banh mi in a bowl?!? Sign me up! Haha don't get me wrong, I love my baguette but it's nice to change it up! The bowl was DELICIOUS! I mixed everything up similar to like a Korean bibimbap and all the flavor blended together so well! I've always said Flushing needs a Banh Mi Shop. Not a restaurant that serves banh mi in additional to their other food but as the main focus.. . So glad Joju joins Tangram. Located conveniently inside the Tangram building. Their menu isn't as extensive as their other locations as this is a food court setting... . read more
Food (4/5): Ordered the joju fries which came with shredded carrots, cheese, and sauces. Overall the fried were crispy and good with the toppings adding a nice touch. Service (4/5): It's a pickup place where you place an order and they'll call your name. Didn't have any issues with it and the food came out fast. Venue (4/5): It's a food court setting with plenty of seating. The food court is modern and clean. read more
