Good service. Tasty baked goods. Reasonable prices. Convenient for take out. Wonderful option for anyone who has EBT because they are part of the ebt restaurant program.

I was as so excited to stumble upon this no frill Chinese bakery and restaurant. I moved to rego park recently and I was worried that I wouldn't find many places to eat that I was familiar with, but seeing that there's this bakery is very comforting as it was a staple for me in Jackson heights. I really liked their sponge cakes and was thrilled to see they had cheap boba for just $4 for a small. The staff also seem pretty nice. And the storefront itself is very casual, no frill and local, which maybe not many people would appreciate but it was comforting to me. I cant'rate based on the actual food besides the pastries as U can only eat vegetarian/halal, but I can still see myself as a regular here!

Not a bad option for Chinese food in this area. It's still fast food, but they have a lot of nostalgic canton dishes that I ate growing up in Chinatown. I ordered a beef stew noodle soup, braised bean curd with fish on rice, sliced fish congee, and a salt and pepper pork chop. Prices are super reasonable, and the taste is great. I enjoyed my noodle soup because the beef stew was fragrant and delicious. The other dishes are on par in flavor but could be better. While I was picking up my order, I also ordered a roast pork bun to go. The roast pork bun was large and fluffy with a lot of filling, but the filling was just alright.

These are all the baked buns they have.

These are all the baked buns they have. Unfortunately no steamed Dai baos as I was made to believe they had. And even though they open at 7am they aren't set up and don't have congee ready either until much later. They should advertise real time of opening as 7:30am or later imho bc I was left waiting and feeling crazy that I was there at 7am when they advertised they are open already! That's why only giving them 3 stars.

The buns at this Asian bakery is comparablely cheaper than the store down the block- and for that it deserves four stars. Buns and cakes taste okay, not outstanding but just enough to fill the hunger pangs. The pineapple custard bun had a lot of fillings, but the toppings all crumbled with one bite causing a big mess. I wasn't too thrilled with their scallion hotdog bun~skip it for me. Many reviews praised their lunch box specials, might give it a try soon

Chinese bakery, cafe, and restaurant. In addition to the standard American Chinese stuff, they have Cantonese specials. I tried the dried baby shrimp with vermicelli. Good flavors, though somewhat greasy. Small amount of indoor seating.

There's usually a line of some length during peak hours and especially around the holidays. You can tell by the sheer volume of baked goods and cakes available in their window displays that they sell a lot daily. This location is on the main drag of the little downtown section of Forest Hills, the baked goods in the front window display connect to a tall and long glass counter along the left side of the store that extends almost to the back. At the back middle and along the right side of the wall there's seating for about two dozen people at small cafe tables. They carry an assortment of traditional cakes (full and sliced), pies, cookies, pastries, cheesecakes, cupcakes, ice cream and coffee/tea drinks. A wide variety of flavors in each, so you're bound to find something sweet to satisfy most here. They are a classic bakery so from what I can tell, they don't carry items that are gluten, dairy or nut free. I've purchased their apple pie, fruit tart, berry napoleon, red velvet and chocolate fudge cakes from this or other locations in the past and they're all solid choices for desserts to share with a larger group, though I find a lot of their cake options to be on the richer side. My most recent encounter with their cakes came in the form of a slice of their seven layer cake $9.95 which is thin layers of yellow cake alternating with chocolate cream mmm pretty tasty, and their caramel cake $9.95 which had a layer of chocolate cake in the middle, sandwiched by caramel cream and white cake on either side. The latter had a pronounced caramel flavor that was enjoyable though a bit too much cream for me. My preference would be for their chocolate cakes over other cake flavors here. Their apple pie is one of my favorite apple pies anywhere tho!

It's absolutely amazing, and the filling is very generous--it feels like heaven in every bite. Another favorite of mine is the chocolate layer cake: rich, velvety smooth chocolate that isn't overly sweet. The only thing I don't agree with is that they do not clearly tell customers that dining in adds an extra $1 charge to each item. Yes, check your receipt. I'm expected to tip my waitstaff and also pay an extra dollar per item just because I chose to dine in. For example, the cupcake is usually $4.75 to go, but they charged me an extra $1 for dining in. Their cake slices are usually $9.50 to go, but I was charged $10.50. I also tipped 20%, so the added charge felt frustrating, especially since there was no clear notice. When I asked the waitstaff about the $1 charge, she said it was entered that way because I dined in. When I later called about it, the manager simply said, "Next time, just order to go if you don't want to be charged extra." That response was disappointing, especially since there was no visible sign explaining this policy, and their dine-in menu does not show separate pricing. I really think management should fix this to avoid misleading customers. Transparency matters. Don't get me wrong--I would still come back because their cakes are amazing, but from now on, I'll always order everything to go.

The layers were flaky. The cream, exceptional. Such a wonderful Pistachio flavor. Sweet enough to curb any sweet tooth. Service was easy. We ordered at the pastry display and they brought our desserts to the counter where we also ordered a Lavender lemonade. It was so good. Starbucks Lavender has nothing on theirs. I ordered the strawberry tart, lemon tart and pistachio Mille fille. I really appreciated the packaging and the takeout bag, which made it seem very high end. It was slightly disorganized but I think it was mostly due to the amount of customers they had that day.

The flavors are unique, making it a fun stop for something different. While the selection is on the smaller side, each item seems thoughtfully crafted. A few more savory options would be a welcome addition, though! Service: The service is quick and efficient. This corner store in Astoria is one I have been passing by regularly over the last few months, and it has good service and some nice outdoor seating. So far, my favorite item has been the Pistachio Lattice, which is super crunchy on the surface while the nutty sweetness shines through on each bite. Another one I really enjoy is the Blueberry Cardamom Escargo, which has absolutely delicious cream cheese frosting mixed with wild blueberry jam and that nice hint of cardamom. Very moist. The Chocolate Chunk Cookie is pretty good too. Plenty of chocolate chunks with a hit of salt. However, their popular Pain Au Chocolate is not the best I have had. There is just not enough chocolate in each bite. Prices are not cheap, but the pastries are mostly very large in size, so you somewhat do get what you pay for. I don't eat baked goods too often, so it's not that bad in my mind. Service has been solid too.
