This establishment did not allow me and my service dog to enter their restaurant. They are clearly breaking ADA laws and should not be in business. The manager was clearly not educated on ADA laws when he should be. Another low-level business breaking US laws. read more

On behalf of The Center for the Women of New York, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks to La Esquina Criolla for their generous and delicious donation of empanadas to our Taste of the World at Fort Totten gala. La Esquina Criolla's empanadas were, as always, a huge hit--flaky, golden pastry wrapped around savory, well-seasoned fillings. Each bite was packed with authentic flavor and made with the kind of care and tradition that keeps guests coming back for more. It's no surprise that their empanadas have become a beloved staple at our event! We're so grateful for La Esquina Criolla's ongoing support and dedication to our cause. It's because of wonderful local businesses like theirs that we're able to raise essential funds to support women across New York. Their continued generosity makes a real difference in our community. We highly recommend La Esquina Criolla for their consistently delicious empanadas and their big-hearted commitment to giving back. Thank you for helping make our event a success yet again. read more

Great staff great food definitely recommend food is delicious perfect for family outings

Few things in life are perfect. For me, a platter of perfectly grilled Argentinian steaks at this place is one of those. Been coming here for a long time, and while I'm getting older and prices rise the quality of my little slice of meat heaven will never change. Don't expect fancy think family style and good honest naked meats grilled to perfection. Parking around here is always a b-ch but so worth it. read more

I stumbled across this place multiple time while walking Corona Ave but never had the courage to walk in. Today was that day. I did my research and knew I was hungry for meat! Service: I got my order to go but, I waited inside to watch them cook! They immediately took my order let me look around. Remember all of these meats are made to order so it will take some time to cook them on the grill (~20 mins). Once my food was ready, they glady let me use my Amex and off I went! Food: I ordered skirt steak, short rib, and chorizo. It came with a side which was yucca fries. Tbh, I was scared. I purposely don't eat meat outside my house since no one can do a medium rare steak correctly. They made my skirt steak and ribs medium. However, still very tender. The yucca fries were nice and hot when I got home. All in all, I would go again with another meat lover (ex. My dad). The decor is definitely football ( as in soccer) focused. But, I don't mind as long as I get good food. read more

Cuisine: 8 Service: 6 Decor: 5 Value: 8 Overall: 7 Not gonna get much better if you'r a beef fan on a budget and don't have an expense account to dine at top steakhouses in Manhattan regularly. With a large selection of beef grilled to order, you're in the right place for a carnivorous feast. Takeout today included a juicy medium rare skirt steak for two, three pieces of smokey short ribs, some marinated beef tongue, rice and beans. Sorry ate too quickly and forgot to take all the photos. However, that should tell you how good it was, so go try it for yourself. Btw, from previous visits, their chorizo sausages and sweetbreads are great too. read more

Mom and Pop style restaurant serving authentic delicious Argentinian meals in the Corona Queens area. This cozy spot had several TV panels playing key soccer games. Service with a smile was provided by seasoned waitresses. The food we ordered was served fresh and yum. Steaks were cooked to perfection, rice & beans was magnificent, service was attentive. Ambiance was pleasant for such a small restaurant

La Esquina Criolla has been on our bucket list. We were eager with protein, meat in a Sunday afternoon and decided to try this place which served solid Argentinian barbecue with convenient grab and go by phone. We ordered La Parrillada for 2 and the portion was more than enough for 3-4 people with great price. The sides were not special but were perfect add-on to the entrees. The quality of meat wasn't the best and even had coppery smell but tasted delicious especially with their unique sauce. read more

MEAT ME!!! If you're a lover of a great steak, this is the place for you. There's a few Argentine restaurants that hold a special place in my belly, but this is by far one of my favorites. The ambiance is no frills. In fat. It's a butcher shop / restaurant. They have a great selection of all cuts and the grilling is perfection. During the peak hours there is usually a line out there door. But regards of the time, the service is always fantastic. The servings are big so do come with an appetite. This place definitely brings me back to my days in Chile/Argentina. Great food, friendly faces. read more

Usually this place is always amazing. This is the first time I have a negative thing to say. The service lacked and it seemed like the waitress was so lost that she brought our order wrong. Usually a parrillada for 2 consists a a decent amount a good shareable among 3-4. We came in around 7:45 pm. Ordered our usual, it lacked in quantity and flavor not to mention they missed something from the parrillada. The waitress tried to say she gave us an extra chorizo which was not true and I called her out on the missing item from the plate, to which she was completely lost as she disputed with the cook. Won't be back in a while. read more

As the years have gone by this place has always been one of my go to's for Empanadas I mean they are delicious , baked can't go wrong with either Chicken or Meat! Still all these years & I'd never tried the food finally made it point with my most recent visit to sit & try. Drinks Ginger Ale & Inca cola, not bad maybe some Sangria next time! For Appetizer Empanadas, so delicious they also give u some nice toasted bread & grilled sausage I must say never seem this before the warm bread, added butter & sausage yumm! Main dishes we had the #9 Short rib, grilled & flank steaks & the Muslos de pollo aka boneless chicken it comes with a side we had Tostones & Roasted potatoes. Meats were grilled just right , they were juicy & very flavorful , chicken was just as tasty the grilled taste on the meats was very good. Good tostones , Delicious roasted potatoes. Small location, Service was good & prices well depending on what u get? The Steaks are on the high side. I will always love the empanadas on the go & if u have the time the food was really worth the try. read more

Great Argentine spot! My family and I gathered to eat parrillada and we were not disappointed! It's a smaller place, for 7 people & a baby stroller we managed just fine. I recommend the carne empanada al horno aka beef empanada oven baked as opposed to fried. Argentine empanada are traditionally oven baked so if you want authentic definitely order that way. The milanesa de carne was yummy, tasted just like the way my papi used to make for us as kids. read more

This place is amazing! Not only is the food great but so is the service. My family came here on a Friday night (towards the end of the night) and both servers Luciana and Iris were amazing. Even though they had already closed Iris told us to take our time eating and not rush. Luciana noticed my hands were full and helped me fill my son's bottle with milk. This type of service is rare, specially when servers are tired and ready to go home. We ordered the pork chops and shell steak, which were both cooked to perfection. My fiance ordered his steak medium and it was perfectly cocked. Overall, we loved the experience and can't wait to be back. Thank you Luciana and Iris!! read more

I went to this Argentine spot a while back and forgot to write review where one of the groups I belong to went to try their parillada (or rather parillada completa.) we were set at two tables which was fine and our side ordered the more traditional parillada/Parrillada Argentino which had a mix of offal and the other side got the mixed steak one (I guess it would be parillada de bistek.) this came with skirt steak (entraña,) short rib (tira de asado,) sweetbreads (mollejas,) tripe (chinchulines,) kidney (riñón,) black sausage (morcilla,) and Argentine sausage (chorizo.) They list both as being for two people but it can easily feed three if not four. The skirt steak was good while the short rib was a bit chewy. The mollejas were good while I thought the trip was a little bit overcooked. The kidney was excellent as were both the blood and regular sausages. It was overall very tasty and worth it for the price and I tried a bit of the steaks from the pricier one which was good also. We got the ensalada russa or Russian potato salad as our side which was good. We also got a very good version of provoleta or grilled provolone in this case with a oregano based sauce. We also got dessert but I'm unsure which one. I think it was flan and maybe something else with dulce de leche (99% sure it wasn't the panqueues as I would definitely compared to the other Argentine spots) which I remember being reasonably priced and tasty also. I think it might have been alfajores but unsure. Food was tasty. Would post more details. Reasonably priced good Argentine food. read more

There's something magical about local mom and pop restaurants... Amidst the hustle and bustle of Elmhurst is La Esquina Criolla, located on the corner of Corona Ave and Junction Blvd. This restaurant features a menu jam packed with various meat-centric offerings much like any other Argentine eatery but what I wanted to focus on was their mouth watering Flan. It was perfectly sweetened, had the ideal texture and had wonderful notes of vanilla and caramel. Easily, one of the best restaurant Flans I've had in recent memory. You could tell that whoever was in the back making it had years, if not decades, of practice in perfecting this hard to manage recipe. The atmosphere is fun and lively especially on weekends. There's typically a soccer match or two on the TVs which fans show up for while enjoying a nice steak or two. They cheer, boo and jeer during the game which makes for a very energetic and spirited eating experience. read more

Well I went there at 1030pm on a Friday night , the host sat me down and this lady with a very rude attitude ask for my order and said we about to close in 1115 what do you want and I said the parrilla for 2 , the order came out at 1105pm and brought me a mix of intestine morcilla hearts ,in which she never specified that there was a parrillada of just meat , i didn't even touched it , along came the check and signed the wrong, as I left very upset about my order , the lady that served came out all mad because I left her a 5 dollar tip and said you sign the wrong receipt, and I was like your service was really bad , and her response was well we about to close and we on a rush and was just there because of me and if I don't like it don't come back ever. I was very shocked by her response . Never every again my Money is welcome there. Just have better personal serving at This place. read more

The most authentic spot for some delicious Argentinian food! My family and I have been coming here for years, and it's so great to know it's still around. The main reason we come in is for the meats. Seriously, you can't go wrong with any meat you choose. The chorizo sandwich with chimichurri sauce is the way to go, along with a beef fried empanada. We usually pick up our meats here too for a summer BBQ. They have blood sausages too, although I've never been brave enough to try it, but my family loves them. Service is slow, but I'm willing to look past that for the food. Give this place a try the next time you find yourself in Corona. read more

I would definitely not recommend this restaurant if you have a disability I was denied any food service just simply because I had a service dog I informed the waitress about the rules of a service dog I even showed her my service dogs idea of proof I was still denied any service , When I asked to speak with the owner they rudely said they was in charge I was not disrespectful in anyway I guess they have a fear of animals no One should be treated that way I definitely wouldn't recommend anybody to come and eat here especially if they're so rude to other people even with disabilities read more

Meat was cooked well and tasted freshed. Sides were good also. Laid back family atmosphere. Service was fine. Would come back.

BEEF. Eat it here. Came here with two friends in early Feb for lunch. One friend had grown up in Argentina, eaten at this restaurant a few times previously and remarked it was the closest she'd tasted to the real thing back home. We were accordingly excited to try this place. This is a butcher shop and homestyle family restaurant rolled into one, the the ambience is something in between a diner and an Argentinean aunt's catering business. Service is friendly and fast, after we ordered the waitress brought out fresh toasted bread and complimentary sausage to pair with it. Bread was warm and fresh and the sausage was a nice starter. We went with the combination grilled platters--that way we could try a variety of cuts and sides. Each combo comes with a side dish. Prices are $18-22 depending on the choice of meat. Between the four of us we got--two of the Tira de asado, vacio y entrana (short rib, flank steak and skirt steak), one Dos tiras de asado (two short ribs), and I tried the Lomo, chuleta y salichicha de cerdo (pork tenderloin, pork chop and thin Argentinean sausage). Personally the highlight of the pork combo was the sausage, followed by the pork chop. The pork chop was medium thickness and tender. Maybe because it was grilled, but tenderloin was a bit crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, but the crispy part was slightly dry for me--I think I'm used to a more moist tenderloin--however flavor was great. The BEEF. The short ribs--what beautiful thick succulent slabs of meat. Flank steak was a bit chewy in some parts but tender and moist. Skirt steak had a delicious marinade and was super tender too. Just thinking of this is making my mouth water. I would go back in a heartbeat and order all three cuts. We had four different sides to go with the combos: mashed potatoes, French fries, Russian potato salad, and lastly potatoes, beets and egg. The sides came in generous portions and overall were good, though nothing that blew my mind. They also provide chimichurri sauce in a small jar as a condiment, it was spot on--I think we nearly polished off the entire jar. read more

What a shame...the quality of the food is terrible, the sausages were like like grilled salami... so rubbery because of how hard they are. Very bad meat, and kidneys felt like erasers. What a pity that a place like this is called Argentine Barbecue. What a misrepresentation of our food. Keep making rice with beans...you might do a better job with that. read more

I've been here a few times. This restaurant is also a butcher shop. They have seating as well for guests to dine in. It's nothing special to look at but its roomy enough to come eat with at least a party of 10. I came again last night with my husband and his brother and wife. We ordered the skirt steak for 1 and my BIL ordered the parrillada for 1. My husband had the mashed potatoes with his steak and I had the potato salad. The steaks were cooked perfectly at medium rare the way we asked for it. My husband said the steak melted in his mouth like butter. Lol I tried his mashed potatoes and they were a bit dry for my taste and a tad bland. My potato salad was delicious though. Cold, with carrots and peas and good flavor. I had a sangria with my dinner which was a bit sweet and only had apples. I like various fruits in my sangria. Either way, it was good and didnt give me heartburn so that's a plus. The service was normal. Nothing out of this world. She wasnt overly friendly and just nice enough. In the past, we have noticed rude waitresses. Overall, I will continue coming for the quality of steak and because it's only a few blocks from my home. read more

The churrasco at this place is excellent! Far and away the best I've had in quite some time. I had their entrana para 2 personas, and It was more than enough food. This place used to be great in the 90'S early 2000'S, But now is just an OVERPRICED restaurant, with below mediocre food.. .

Steak spot located on a corner with plenty of metered street parking. You can smell the grill from a block away. There is nothing fancy about the decor, the meats are showcased proudly in a deli display. The service is slow, but they do offer complimentary sliced chorizo & toasted bread while you wait. Spread some chimichurri sauce on the bread, its banging! I ordered the platter for 2 it comes with Skirt Steak, Short Rib, Sweetbread, Tripe, Kidney, Black And Argentina Sausage & 2 sides. Only the Skirt Steak & Short Rib was good, they were cooked perfectly (Medium Rare). The Tripe & Kidney tasted horrible, extremely gamey & dirty. Sweetbread must be eaten right away HOT, once cooled it taste's disgusting, The Sausages were average & the blood sausage, had way to much seasoning in it! FYI: More patrons frequent this spot to buy meats, to cook at home! read more

I noticed the popularity of this restaurant, so i decided to give it a shot. there is another argentinian restuarant across the street called el gauchito, both are similar in terms of quality, however different things were better at each establishment the interior here was simple and clean, the chorizo appetizers were a nice way to start off what can only be described as a trove of meat that I was prepared to consume here I ordered the Parrillada Completa, complete with Skirt Steak, Short Rib, Sweetbread, Tripe, Kidney, Black And Argentina Sausage, basically the works, and a nice sample to induct myself into argentinian cusine. to keep it short order the meats here and forget the offal meats / sausages here, the meats was done well; tender, moist and succulent, cutting into it required minimal effort and the taste of the meat was divine. The intestines and the kidney here however could use SERIOUS work, they did not clean the intestines and when i bit into it i saw what clearly look like the pigs last meal, which was not appetizing at all. the kidney smelled like a tasted like piss, the sausages were too salty and really were not appetizing at all. overall not a bad experience, just come here for the meat and there won't be any issues read more

My second review of this place. They do not disappoint as one of my favorite restaurant, not because they're good at everything. But because they're consistent with what they're good at. I started getting the 'papas' with my lunch meal instead of the rice, and they are amazing! Though I don't much care for the sandwiches there, Eh. They know me as the guy who 'never orders the pollo', They serve chicken with noodles stew for lunch specials on wednesdays and sometimes thursdays. But I personally don't like spaghetti noodles with my chicken... eck. I would get the regular grilled chicken with potatoes, but that's too boring, ya know? I'm that guy, yessir. The picky, annoying one. But I wouldn't waste my time being picky with a restaurant if they didn't have what I liked, Probably I would never come back to that place, like I have with several Spanish restaurants up on Roosevelt avenue or that Chinese restaurant that's 1 block away from my house. If it sucks, I'm not coming back. If it's good, you'll see my ass there every day, being picky, chatty and nosy, and I'll be sure to remember my server's name :p read more
