With a family member in Flushing, Queens, during our travels, we were seeking char siu 叉燒 caa1 siu1 flavored in the standard staple soy sauce and hoisin sauce prepared food for dinner. I did not know that DC Flushing Market 德昌肉食公司 (aka Deluxe Meat market) also have a small satellite location in Flushing, Queens as I have always patronized the one in Chinatown Downtown Manhattan. Staff including butchers speak Cantonese (thank God!) as I am proud to be a Cantonese speaker. I have observed one patron requesting for marinated soy sauce with her order as it is not provided intentionally - oh the frugality of the owners possibly due to the effects of 2023 high inflation and agflation! Nota bene: Be acutely aware of the bewildered wayward queuing system as both ordering and payment form chaotically and there are inadvertently line cutters.

This is the same as the Deluxe Meat market in Chinatown, Manhattan. When you enter, there are two different aisles, the one to the left leads to a back hallway which leads into the hot food section. That's where you can get your barbecue meats and various dishes. The one to the right goes towards the butcher side. Weirdly divided in that sense because you can't get between the two without coming back around to the cashier area. The prices here are somewhat better than in Chinatown Manhattan. However selection is a little bit different, it's definitely newer but smells basically the same. Cleaner floor though.

    actual weight of flank steak

I had a bad experience at DC Flushing Market. I bought a lot of meat this time. After I came home and wanted to cook the flank steak, I was surprised how small the portion was. I paid for 1.04 pound of flank steak at $9.99 per pound, I weighed it at home and there was only half pound (8.4 oz), clearly cheating. I went back to the market to let them know. The staff was really rude and shout at me.

Misleading meats. These are not A5 Wagyu. Taste nothing like it. Low quality meat

When i first saw A5 wagyu steak in the market, I went to purchase some. I was looking forward to try it on same day. After I marinated with salt and pepper and cook it for dinner on same day, taste nothing like A5 wagyu. Is pretty rough for medium rare. Poor quality meat. Misleading and false advertising. It has been reported to 311 but did nothing.

Today's weather was sunny in the high 50s! DC Flushing Market is located on the same block as Starbucks and across from Teso Life. On the left side, you can buy fresh vegetables, seafood, etc. On the right side, you can buy fresh meat/poultry, frozen dumplings, steamed buns, Hot Pot (火锅) items such as fish balls, beef balls, meat slices, etc. Towards the back, you can grab hot food take-out containers since they are already packaged, weighed, and labeled with prices. Also, you can buy roasted poultry hung on the display. There was no social distancing while everyone was pretty much on top of each other. I felt uncomfortable but I couldn't do anything about it. Note: Pay attention because the line forms in both directions and people are going to cut in front of you! I stood in line for my mom when she grabbed the Fried Pork Chop with Spicy Salt container. When it was finally our turn, my mom pointed out that she didn't want the half Roast Duck hung on the display because of the feathers...Ewww! The guy gave my mom a hard time then he skipped my mom to help the customer behind us. We waited for someone else to assist and still ran into the same issue until this guy finally gave in to my mom's request. Wow, poor customer service. BTW, I am a fan of their frozen dumplings!

DC Flushing Market is one of my favorite Chinese supermarkets in the neighborhood especially for its prepared food. We were so excited that they reopened even with limit products and no prepared food. Their procedure against COVID-19 was good and we felt safe during shopping there. Before you enter the stores, the staff will help sanitizing shoes and hands. They also built up plastic protectors by the check out counters. We were there on a Friday afternoon and it wasn't crowded at all, everyone kept social distancing. The variety of products was not the best but with plenty of supply. Overall, the experience was great.

For someone of you who are familiar with the Manhattan Chinatown this is the same shop located between Mott St and Elizabeth St via tunnel just north of Hester. They is why many of the workers speak Cantonese instead of Manderin. The Manhattan shop is always crowded like hell with a great meat market and hot food counter. This Flushing store is not as big as some of the large Asian Supermarkets like GW, Great Wall or HK but it serve all the necessaries most family need. My favorite item is the sticky rice dumplings (zongzi); it's better then ant from Main St shops because it's more Cantonese-style. Mom approved!

I have a small business of the restaurant. I have always order some wholesale meat from them that I have never seen in the other supermarket near by. There are both resale of meat from the picture and wholesale above for the business. Ken is very friendly, professional and he had always have a good recommendation when you asking for something you need. He worked on the fresh meat section. Highly recommended.

I've heard about their Chinatown location for a long time but haven't had a chance to check it out. I just happened to walk by their flushing location. This is a little Chinese butcher shop/supermarket which has deli department. This place is surprisingly clean & organized. They do offer affordable Chinese food takeouts. Their meat quality at the butcher department is good and fresh. They have all different cuts of meats. I highly recommend their frozen dumplings & wontons which they made in the house. They also have a small produce section.

Open, curbside pickup only. Call and order in advance! Super quick and easy. Parking is a breeze!

The past several years, my wife and mother been food shopping at this particular market. I've always enjoyed the meats and frozen dumplings they've brought home from this market. The English name doesn't quite translate into their Chinese name accurately. In Covid times, I've never came to this market until now. My both my parents are over the age of 60 with pre-existing conditions. So to play it safe, they stay home and I try to food shop for them. As for my wife, she cares for our newborn son so we wanna keep both of them home and away from the public for the mean time. What brought me to the market for the first time was their online ordering. My wife and her friends found out that they are taking orders online and doing curbside pickup. We placed a large order, when I arrived, I called and the butcher came out to confirm our order and brought it out. Parking in Flushing has never been this easy. I can literally pull up anywhere I want. It's just that empty. There were still a lot of people walking the streets, but as far as car traffic goes, it was dead on a 1pm Thursday afternoon. If you're looking for a Chinese butcher or frozen dumplings, this place got em. Order in advance, respect social distancing when lining up for curbside pickup. There were a few douchebags who just cut the line and started knocking on the glass door demanding immediate service.

This place sell raw meats, marinated meats, cooked food, Cantonese BBQ meats, soup, vegetables, chinese sausage etc There 3 choices & soup meal is only $5.59. And I like their marinated meats too, just need to steam, stir fry, pan fried, grilled or whatever cooking method, save a lot of work.

Plus, you get a free show out of it because all of the cooking is on display next to the register! The value is also amazing, because one order gets you a solid portion of meat and bun *and* the piping hot-ness of it forces you to pace yourself so you're not accidentally overeating 20 of them (I mean.. that's what I'd do if I weren't forced to slow down). Ambiance-wise, well, this is New World Mall's food court so be prepared to hustle for a table. This is not fine dining, people, but it is straight up good food worth going out of your way for.

Although I do not come to Chinatown often anymore but when we do, I come with my daughter! This place is split into two parts. One part is like a regular supermarket with limited items like marinated meat and seafood and some pantry stables like noodles. The marinated meats, you buy by pound and you can cook them at home during the week. This is very convenient and takes the prep work out of the way! My personal favorite is the marinated sole. All I have to do is cook rice, steam the fish with ginger, then add scallion oil - weekday dinner is done, just like that! My husband loves the marinated meats, they are delicious and perfect for meal preps. The second part of the place is what Deluxe is famous for - the food market, it is a combination of hot Chinese dishes over rice, stir-fry noodles, bakery, roasted meats, cold marinated meats, and sushi. Now, I must admit that the food items here taste decent and very affordable but do not expect it to be the best. It does the job and feeds the family, especially in this economy! We like the Fried Salt and Pepper Pork Chops and it seems like it is one of the most popular items here as I see them refill it every time I come here. This is a must visit if you're ever in Chinatown! This place is always busy and super crowded, the best time to come is during morning hours before lunch!

Aside from the stereotypical Chinese sauces, they don't have as much in the way of produce, drinks, or packaged or canned goods. What they do have aplenty is fresh food and meats. Overall, definitely recommend if you're looking for a Chinese supermarket. Just be aware that they sometimes close early (their posted closing time is 7:30pm).

When I was in the Astoria store earlier this month, I overheard an obviously epicurean gentleman who spent some time in Austria (with presumably some appreciation for well-crafted old world charcuterie) share that he had come down from Boston and made a special trek out here to experience this Mecca of meats in person. I myself came all the way from the distant shores of NJ that day, enduring horrendous holiday traffic down FDR Dr. and across Queensboro Bridge, but likewise, finally made this pilgrimage after I became addicted to their superlative pork cracklings (chicharron / čvarci / jumări), which is the best on the planet! It's weighed by the pound and the prime time to get it fresh & hot out of the fryer is late morning, though best to come earlier on the weekend. 90% of the products are made in-house, and one can find a dizzying array of cured and smoked meats, multiple varieties of bacon, prosciutti (including hard-to-find duck and lamb!), sausages, salami, pâtés, purées, cheeses, steaks and chops, as well as pickled and jarred foods, canned delicacies, and shelves of dried goods and snacks from Europe. The founders came over from the Balkan region and likewise the counter staff are well-versed in multiple tongues (Serbo-Croatian, Romanian, Hungarian, as well as Spanish) and can fluidly navigate between ethnic product names according to what the customer is asking for. The staff are welcoming, warm, and helpful, and will offer you samples of everything to try. We stocked up on our favorites and also picked up some new goodies: - Chicharrones (always!) - Tarska bacon (a house speciality) - Rolled garlic bacon - Some other bacon (cos yes it's the land of bacon galore) - Duck prosciutto - Various sausages - Goose & pork liver pâté - Liver - Szalonna (pork fat) - Brânză de burduf, a handmade cheese that's a traditional salty Romanian cheese originated from Transylvania. (Muncan is very popular with the local Romanian community) I've always said Queens is foodie heaven and is worth a trip from the boroughs if not the tri-state, and Muncan is definitely a destination stop!
