I've been to Tornado Crepe multiple times, but this experience was honestly ridiculous. There's a posted rule that you receive a token for the vending machines for every $10 spent. I spent over that amount and politely asked for my tokens. My order was placed online, and one worker immediately got an attitude and claimed the rule only applies if you order in person--which makes zero sense, because I'm still paying the same price. I explained that I had been there just two days earlier, ordered the same way, and was given my tokens without any issue. Instead of acknowledging that, she doubled down and started making things up. Another worker even came over and was about to give me the tokens, clearly understanding the situation, but the first worker jumped in again and insisted "no, it's a rule." The whole interaction felt unnecessarily hostile. If you're going to advertise a policy, it should apply to all customers--online or in person--and your staff should be on the same page instead of arguing with the customers. read more

Was in the mood for some icecream so I came here and ordered the crepe oreo icecream with nutella and my friend got an egloo waffle. The crepe icecream was so yummy and the nutella was so gooey. You wait in line outside while they prepare your order and give it to you outside. They are COVID safe as the workers wore masks and gloves while preparing the desserts. So I came here for a post-dinner snack. As soon as I walked in my shoes were sticking to the floor. The staff was flustered and overwhelmed but they were trying hard. We waited like 20 minutes. Ordered a French toast and S'mores crepe. The crepe was surely fine but the French toast hmm wasn't fresh for sure as the toast wasn't warm. And ohhh it was served within like 5 mins. Though I am grateful for the fruits they were good portion. French toast was not the best at all and it wasn't surely not fresh. But came across Tornado crepe on my yelp search and it wasn't going to close until 10. The store is nice and clean and there is seating at the back of the store. You order and pay for your crepe first and then move down and watch your crepe being made. Unlike the traditional crepe that is flat and served on a plate with a fork, this crepe is rolled up, like a tornado. So you end up with a crepe in a cone. I actually like to eat my crepe on plate because I think it's easier to manage. Eating it in this cone was challenging but what was great that made it easier was that the cone they served it in was perforated. So as you ate you could peel away at the cover making it more manageable. read more

Somehow I always manage to stumble upon this place once a year with a friend - it's not particularly noticable unless you are walking directly past it and hungry - the front entrance has menus and depictions of their teas and crepes but the seating is hidden in the back. I wouldn't call this place great by any means, their bubble tea and desserts are extremely average but the presentation makes it fun for some. The boba is slightly too sweet but priced well and the crepes are ok if you are very hungry or have looking for something large and sweet. If you get it in a to-go box and NOT a cone, it's much easier to eat. Either way, you can't go wrong.
