Had a sweet tooth. So decided to pay Martha's Country Bakery a visit late night. It was a full house indoor. You could feel the love and smell the amazing freshly bake treats. The cupcakes was calling my name. As soon as I walk into Martha's. I decided to try the Black Forest cupcake and vanilla vanilla. I was please with my choice. Service was friendly. Very clean and organized.
The atmosphere is what really makes Martha's special. It's cozy, welcoming, and full of life. Families, couples, friends, and regulars all seem to gather here, whether it's late at night or during a relaxed afternoon. It's the kind of place where you can sit for a while, talk, laugh, sip your coffee, and forget about the outside world. Nothing feels rushed. Service has always been friendly and efficient in my experience. Even when it's busy and it often is the staff keeps things moving and remains polite and patient. I stepped into this cozy and vibrant place where there were many people indoors here be it couples, families, or soloists like me. Everything looked soooo good but I ordered their berry napoleon, vanilla, vanilla cupcake and a slice of strawberry cheesecake. My oh my how delicious these pastries were! My favorite has to be the berry napoleon. It was so scrumptious but the cheesecake runs a close second. All in all, I'm glad I went to this place and look forward to coming back!
Really good pie selection! We got the sour cream apple pie as it was recommended once menu. Loved the pie, the apples were crispy, sour cream was a complement to the sweetness of the crust. The crust was crumby, good hard texture. I'd recommend anyone to stop by a dessert here. They have weekday discounts. Also saw a couple people here working on their laptops here.
THEY ACTUALLY HAVE SO MANY PASTRIES IT is actually insane. I walked in there and the display case was like a mile long. They have everything from pies to cake to cupcakes to cookies to puddings. We got the Tiramisu cheesecake and it was good nice bc it had a mousse layer and cheesecake layer which I thought was a nice balance and offered variety of texture and flavor. Both the mousse and cheesecake were delicious. the coffee flavor was super strong and I was pleasantly surprised how tiramisu flavor esque it was. Also tried the banana cream pie and it was also decent. Like lowkey there was wayyyy too much whipped cream to banana pie ratio. It was massive though and the whipped cream was good like I would eat it alone. But I also wanted more banana part. They offer table service so you can't really order to go and then sit down which kind of sucks. But they have seating inside if u want table service. Otherwise get to go and eat elsewhere I guess. Definitely want to go back and try a bunch of other things there are just sooo many items and flavors.

Martha's was an unexpected late night stop on a Saturday night. We first went to the location down the street and it was fully packed at 10pm. We walked 6 minutes to this location and got a table right away. It was a cozy spot to talk with friends and share some sweet treats. Both locations have a long case filled with every dessert ever invented. Truly, there is something for everyone at Martha's. Cakes, cookies, pies, etc. Our table tried to order the warm chocolate cake but unfortunately they were sold out. The waitress suggested a slice of dark chocolate fudge cake that they could heat up and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to it. Along with that, we ordered a Nutella cheesecake, a dark hot chocolate, and a peanut butter dark chocolate. The peanut butter dark chocolate was so good! I would definitely order again. The dark hot chocolate was rich and warm. Both of these were great drinks. The dark chocolate fudge cake was fine, but nothing spectacular. We really enjoyed the cheesecake but the Nutella flavor did not come through at all, it just tasted like a classic cheesecake. Even so, the table preferred the cheesecake over the chocolate slice. This was a great spot to meet up with friends late night! When you want to sit and talk after dinner without going home yet. I would recommend checking it out.

They have a huge menu of desserts and drinks to choose from including cake, pie, cheesecake and more. We got the blueberry pie and Mexican hot chocolate and it was delicious. Gets a little loud around nighttime and it's a little hard to flag down a server, but overall great desserts.
What a lovely place to have dessert, as we were warmly greeted and seated, I felt like I was in a seasonal shop in Manhattan with all the selections available, and people inside. I had the Vegan & Gluten free strawberry cheesecake alongside a Hot chocolate (almond milk), and I was struck but how delicious the drink was, since Hot chocolate can be a Hit or miss kind of drink and with a very soft cheesecake it was the perfect combo, couldnt complain more. Definitely will be back if Im in the neighborhood.
Absolutely obsessed with Martha's. We ordered about eight different desserts to go to share later and everything was just delicious. The star of the show was the strawberry shortcake. I really like how the cake is not overpoweringly sweet so you can really enjoy the whipped cream and fruit more. They have so many options and you really can't go wrong. Highly recommend. There's a nice seating area and really big coffee bar menu as well.
Stopped by after dinner for some dessert to go, ordered the fruit tart. The presentation may appear gorgeous and delicious, but it has that gross "freezer burn" taste like this tart has been in the display for quite some time. It's mediocre at best, wouldn't pay $10 for this. Also, their tiramisu is Too wet/ soaking. Found out the reason why tiramisu becomes extremely soaked it's because it was kept frozen then thawed to sell. I've had fresh tiramisu and it's the perfect wetness texture of the cake and the cream.
$9 bucks each portion. Berrys pie - it's an easy simple bottom pie crust. It's a think crust, the mixed berries consist of strawberries and blackberries is a syrupy jelly sauce topped with a crumble topping not a crust. This simple pie is quite good and satisfactory when craving something fruity. Seven layer - it's a choco mousse layered w a thin layer of vanilla cake. The main bigger layers is the mousse. The choco mousse is really good. Not overpowering of a dense chocolate. This is a very good cake. Tres leches- this is a really good cake that reminds me of a bday party from the 80s. It's a clsssic vanilla layered cake w chunks of preserved peach. The whipping cream in between the cake layers is almost like a chantilly kind. I love this cake.

The Very Berry Napoleon stole the show with its custard that wasn't overly sweet. The tiramisu cheesecake was a literal gift from the heavens. The bread pudding and sour cream apple pie were both served warm and delicious in their own right. They have specials throughout the week so if you are local I highly recommend taking advantage of these delicious deals!!

What an overload of bakery goodness. So much to select from, although seating inside is quite packed most of the time. Also bought some pies to order for the Thanksgiving holidays that were very quick to pick up, almost within 30 minutes.. I would maybe advise not ordering it too early in advance so you can pick it up when it is still warm. Although a bit pricey, it is a pretty big pie so it was okay for a group of 8 of us to share. read more

It's always a delight to get to run into one of these bakeries! While at a Yelp event next door, we came upon this delicious location and what better way to end our Saturday night than with some dessert. I am a sucker for all things sweet especially cupcakes! These were the perfect size. There were so many to choose from but I went classic; vanilla on vanilla. My cupcake was moist and the buttercream was not too sweet and the perfect consistency; creamy. The staff was friendly and attentive even though it was packed! Definitely a staple on Bedford Avenue! read more
Martha's bakery has amazing options and choices for numerous desserts! Really enjoy everything they had to offer, but they had really good cupcakes, cake slices, and Cheescake for sure. Their slices are around $10 but they are huge slices. Had to cross this off my bucket list, especially for being in NY ! Took us time to get here, but located in a great spot and you can tell by the crowd that it was well worth the wait and time. Staff were amazing and gave us recommendations and served us as soon as we sat down. I think the best thing about coming into the franchise is the smells of baked goods and cakes all hitting you at once. Environment is great, and just seems like a nice cafe shop to talk, socialize , and enjoy your eats! read more
Great bakery located in a prime location. They have a wide variety of desserts to choose from. It was almost overwhelming trying to decide what to get. There's seating in the back which makes this place a wonderful spot to sit and share a sweet treat with someone. We got the strawberry shortcake, Mexican hot chocolate, and chai tea. The cake was light, fluffy and the perfect balance of tart and sweet. The staff were very friendly and the service was quick. I can't wait to come back and try more desserts! read more
We were visiting from out of state and stumbled upon this cute bakery with air conditioning! I marveled at the huge display cases of all their baked goodies (cheesecakes, cakes, pies, cupcakes, pastries, danishes, cookies, pound caked, ice cream, etc). If you have a sweet tooth, you should find something you like here. In addition to your caffeine fix! Service was polite and quick. Luckily, it was off hour, and was not crowded. So glad I stopped in here. I've been going to all of their locations looking for Mississippi Mud Pie, which the other locations don't carry. I love their cheesecake, chocolate cake, cookies and mud pie. I always love coming to Martha's. Their portions are large and usually last me a few days. I'm so glad their mud pie is back. It's my favorite thing on their menu. I can't wait to stop back here. read more

Amazing bakery in Williamsburg! Conveniently located near where we had dinner, and we appreciated the recommendation as they have a massive display and great variety of desserts! I wanted a slice of cheesecake or cake but they were huge and we had just eaten. So I got a cupcake. My daughter was going to get a cannoli but settled on a cake pop. So good! This is a great place for carry out but you can dine in too. Loved it! read more
My sister and I walked by this bakery and decide to give it a try when seeing all the nice cakes on the window display. Walking in this place is huge. It was confusing at first, since I don't know whether to just sit down and someone will serve me or pay for the bakery up front and bring the desserts back to the table. Turn out they have three sections: dine in, Togo bakery, and ordering drink sections. We get a passion fruits moose cream and a raspberry oatmeal cookies. The slide of passion fruit was delicious! It is creamy with a hint of sour and not too sweet at all. However, the cookies were a disappointment. We got it around 11am, I assume the cookies support to be freshly baked, moist and crunchy. But no, it was stale. So sad, we end up bring those home, and reheat it at home since we can't eat it in store read more

This place is bigger than it looks once entering. I was impressed with all the pastries they had available. The staff was helpful as they followed me around while looking at all the pastries until i was ready to make my decision. I got a pecan pie 4/5 and an oatmeal cookie 4/5. They were both amazing tasting and was wondering how i never new of this place. Inwill have to try other options as they had cakes, tarts, pies, cookies, and other pastries. The slices are $8.50 but they do have specials during the week for specific items if you want to try more options. read more
Came here for a dessert on a Friday night and this place was fully seated, lucky a table just got up and we were promptly seated - suffice to say this a popular place. We got the Nutella Hot Colocate, which I really liked although I didn't think it was sweet enough, on the other hand it wasn't burning hot so I was able to enjoy it right away. Banana Nutella Creme Brulee was a sad disappointment, I assumed it would be a mixture of those flavors - part of the creme, but it was a very large sized creme brulee with sliced bananas on top and nutshell drizzled on top as well. The creme brulee itself wasn't good, but it did have a pretty presentation. Strawberry Short Cake was really delicious and would get it again. We go the Oatmeal Raisin Cookie to go and the person who got it said it was really good. Personally, I don't like raising meal cookies - they're full of lies; they pretend to be a chocolate chip cookie at a distance, but then fool you when you bit into one. read more

Our group ordered 4 different slices. Berry napoleon - the cream is not that tasty when there's no berries. Flaky crust adds a nice texture from all the cream Tiramisu - crowd favorite. More on the bitter side and more cake than cream Strawberry shortcake - would be better with more strawberries. Cake is a bit dry Raspberry cheesecake - really dense cheesecake. We walked by Martha's Country Bakery on the way to dinner and saw all cakes / pastries in the window that we decided not to get at the restaurant we were eating at and try the bakery out instead. Well, what a disappointing experience that was. My husband and I, after much debate, decided to both get cheesecakes based on the staff recommendations. And most people were getting cheesecakes, so I figured that was the best option I ordered the strawberry cheesecake & my husband got the blue velvet cheesecake. The blue velvet one was on special the day we went so the cost of it was much lower which was nice. We ate there, so presentation was cute .. they wrote "Enjoy" and "Smile" on our plates. Unfortunately though, the cheesecake wasn't that great. Super dry and the strawberry topping on mine just tasted off. I don't like leaving really low reviews but this place really left a lot to be desired. Maybe would've been better to get takeout. And on top of it, I thought I'd use the restroom before leaving but it was in such disgusting awful shape, I didn't even go in. I will spare the details but it looked and smelled horrible, like it wasn't cleaned in days. I hope they keep their kitchen cleaner than that! Definitely not normal. I don't remember the exact cost but it's between $7-$8.
What flavors do they have for their buttercream cake slices?
They have several. Some of them are red and blue velvet, chocolate and caramel
What are the best cakes here?
Butter crunch pecan is delicious & they have all day Happy Hour Mon-Thursday at their Bedford and Metropolitan location in Williamsburg. I believe Tuesday is their buttercream $2 a slice day. Wednesday I believe is $1 cupcake day etc.....
