I've been here a few times on two different trips now (which is saying something, because I'm more of a Manhattan girlie than a Brooklyn girlie.) How does this keep happening? My friend who works in the neighborhood routinely enjoys their Usucha ("thin tea", or plain matcha)--it's prepared well and is soothing and has a rich bitter matcha flavor. Twice, I ordered my Kuro mitsu Matcha Latte. It's rich and sweet (hey, kuromitsu is a Japanese syrup!) Matcha Cheese Cake was also rich, sweet, and just the right amount of bitterness. The interior is very minimalist, intimate, and cozy. Service is fine.

We were walking around the area and found this cha-ya. Tried a new drink today! Matcha latte with Kinako- roasted soy bean. If you like Kinako you will like it. It's a little grainy and nutty flavored. Kinako powder is usually a topper on mochi and other desserts. Cute little cafe for tea.

4.7/5 Matcha Soft Serve -- very impressed! Matcha flavor is very strong and bitter forward if you like that! Ice cream base is very smooth, and didn't melt too fast even when eating by Domino Park! Only some slight grittiness of the matcha powder noted as it melted. Portion is also super generous, easily could be split between 2 people.

Nippon Cha is a specialty matcha shop offering a range of snacks and desserts, from cakes to matcha-based drinks. The store also carries a selection of matcha tools and exclusively sells its own Nippon Cha branded matcha. On this visit, I ordered the strawberry matcha latte. While the strawberry syrup was quite sweet, it ended up overpowering the matcha. This may appeal to those who prefer a stronger sweetness, but I personally prefer a more balanced blend of matcha and fruit flavor. Despite this, I would visit Nippon Cha for all of your matcha making needs!

While strolling around Williamsburg, I was getting thirsty and found this matcha spot. There's a kiosk to order your drinks while you can watch the tea masters whisking the matcha. I ordered the Matcha with Coconut Water ($7) and my friend had the Matcha Yuzu Lemonade ($7). The matcha is so earthy paired with the coconut water, which was so refreshing. This is such an authentic Japanese matcha shop with delicious matcha drinks.

Super yummy! Was looking for a mid-afternoon pick me up and stumbled on this matcha place. The waiters were incredibly nice and they made our order within 2 minutes which is pretty impressive for a drinks place. We ordered the Matcha Yuzu Lemonade and this was delicious and I feel so inspired to try to replicate this drink at home. The yuzu flavor was very evident and didn't seem artificial at all. The matcha also added a nice layer onto it which was surprising as I thought the flavors would clash quite a bit. My only gripe is that they didn't fill out drink all the way up, maybe only to the 85% lines. Overall, absolutely fantastic drinks place and I will be back for more!

Got the kuromitsu matcha latte and really liked it. The flavor was unique and balanced, not overly sweet. A great spot if you're into trying different styles of matcha drinks.

Stopped by Nippon Cha and got their small matcha soft serve cone. absolutely delicious! It had that perfect balance of bitterness and sweetness that good matcha should have. The texture was creamy and smooth, not too heavy, and the flavor lingered just right. Service was friendly and quick, and the overall vibe was calm and clean. Definitely worth a stop if you're craving authentic matcha soft serve!

Nippon Cha was among the first places my friends and I stopped for our NYC matcha crawl. Since it was a Sunday, the line practically went out the door, and we were packed like sardines. Per usual, the interior had a clean, minimalist design and cozy atmosphere. Because they made the wrong order, we got a free matcha latte with soy milk! Ultimately, we got a matcha latte with oat milk and a (FREE) matcha latte with soy, which enhanced our matcha crawl experience. I noticed a subtle difference between the drinks due to the milk; the matcha latte with oat milk was creamier and sweeter than the soy latte. In comparison, the matcha soy had a grassier taste. Neither was bad! But it's a matter of preference; personally, I do prefer the bitterness. However, I also like a creamy matcha latte, so both have pros and cons. Despite the creamier oat latte than the soy latte, I found Nippon Cha, in general, to be more watery than the matcha lattes that I would end up trying later in the crawl. I'd gladly come back to try their desserts and other drinks, but I left feeling a bit underwhelmed.

The best matcha in the whole world. Period. Strawberry matcha w oat milk. I bought tins for daily at home from them as well but nothing beats grabbing a cup properly made on a nice sunny breezy day

Nippon Cha lives up to the hype! The matcha is super flavorful and they have a wide variety on the menu! I ordered the strawberry matcha and it was soooo good! It is on the sweeter side because of the strawberry purée, but still delicious!! The ordering is done through a self-serve kiosk! The drinks were made super quickly and efficiently! This is more of a to-go place so there is very limited seating. I overall love this place and look forward to returning!

I frequently think about Nippon cha's matcha ice cream after having it only once. Sadly, I haven't had it again because they're a little out of the way for me. But when I did pass by it recently, I was parched, so ice cream wasn't going to do it. I got an iced strawberry matcha instead. It looked sooo good, however, it tasted very mediocre. It sounds hard to mess up this combination of flavors, but the drink was very bland overall. Maybe it was because the store was teeming with customers on the hot day so there was no quality control. Whatever the reason, I'll be more reluctant to get a drink from here next time, but I'm still down for their ice cream.

I never really know how a drink from here is going to turn out. Sometimes I go and it's the best matcha I've had in a long time and other times it tastes like some premade mix that no matcha lover should have. When it's busier I feel like I get a better drink surprisingly but when I go and no one else is around it's just meh.

The banana and strawberry not so much as to me that didn't really have much of a taste, but maybe that was because the rest of it was super flavorful and over powered the fruit. Having a dessert spot in the neighborhood that is open late night and is serving flavors of our culture is nothing short of a dream come true. Not so great for my weight loss goals, though haha. Thank you, Moose. I came in here, and the place was absolutely buzzing, with groups of people enjoying their late night desserts- a testament to how much we needed this spot to just open and thrive and exist. I don't personally like cream Kenafa so I haven't really tried anything off their menu yet, but the Dubai chocolate crêpe is really calling out my name, and I am just going to bite the bullet and try it one of these days. I did go in to sample their Dubai chocolate. As a chocoholic, I am on a low-key search for the best Dubai chocolate bar in the city. This bar did not disappoint. The filling to chocolate ratio was perfect. However, I do feel that there is an over balance of crispy kanafa in the filling. I think it could use more pistachio cream and be a little on the runnier side. Can't wait to come back and try that crêpe. Until I am able to make that trip back, do stop in and enjoy a sweet treat in this cute little dessert shop. Anyway, I was in Brooklyn with my brother to see a concert and had just finished dinner. We had some time before doors opened so we decided to grab a little ice cream before heading over to the venue. Farmacy was steps away - it all seemed like it was meant to be, so off we went. Farmacy aims to capture the nostalgia of an old fashioned soda shop and ice cream parlor. Immediately upon walking in we were greeted by aesthetics - the tile, fixtures, and decor totally give off that vibe. There are a few tables to sit as well as a large bar area with stools; I also noticed a few tables set up outside as well. The traffic flow is set up so that you order first and then have it served to you after sitting. Browsing the menu, I noticed they have a selection of ice cream scoops, shakes, egg creams, specialty sodas, hot chocolates, and a large variety of sundae creations. Since we were there for ice cream, we decided to split a sundae -specifically the Sir Twix-a-Lot. This was chunks for shortcake tossed in caramel and topped with vanilla ice cream that was coated in a chocolate shell. Overall I thought the sundae was solid - but the combinations of textures weren't my favorite to be honest, mostly with how the shortcake played with the ice cream. It wasn't bad though - the flavors definitely gave the Twix aesthetic. My only other issue with the dish was that because chocolate shell was used, any residue at the bottom was hard so you have to chisel it if you want to savor any last spoonfuls; I guess that comes with the territory. Service was good - everyone was friendly. It wasn't too busy when we were there so we had our selection of seats and our ice cream was ready pretty quickly. Overall, I'm glad I finally tried Brooklyn Farmacy out - they have a large selection so I would definitely return when I'm in the area again.

Seating space (not a lot of it, so I imagine it can get packed on busy times) and bathrooms on premises. Hot chocolate was delicious. We got the spiced dark chocolate and the spices were overwhelming. Get dark chocolate without spices. The extra dollar for marshmallow made the chocolate even sweeter, so it was overwhelming and I wouldn't recommend. But. The extra dollar for whipped cream would be nice because the their homemade whipped cream isn't sweet, so it will just thicken up the drink and give you that extra texture oooomph that you'll appreciate. Torino cafe is basically coffee added to any hot chocolate of your choice. That was tasty with dark chocolate. You definitely tasted the coffee and it was less thick than regular hot chocolate (which was on a thinner, sippier side). You can sample ice cream to make your selection. It's all very sweet, so if you're looking for a less sweet option go with Belgian dark chocolate flavor. For a $18 banana split you get three scoops of ice cream and a caramelized banana. Not a big portion for such hefty price. The tiny addition of toppings didn't make this banana split come together into a cohesive dish. Would get something else next time. Definitely not a good deal.
