Matcha soft serve is insanely STRONG. Not for the weak and not for the casual matcha lovers. Not too sweet either Tbh I loved but for some it may be tooo much

One of my favorite matcha places int he city! You can really taste the matcha! I got the Kuro Mitsu Matcha and it was basically a brown sugar matcha latte. The brown sugar syrup wasn't overpowering. They do batch their matcha and then just add x amount of grams to your latte when you order, which is slightly disappointing. The staff as very nice and they got the matcha to me quickly (although it wasn't super busy around 11am on a Sunday when I went). They also sell a variety of matcha powders and matcha accessories in store!

If you like seriously strong ceremonial grade matcha reminiscent of how it's done in Japan, then this is the place. The matcha is so strong that I had to drink it way slower because the caffeine was hitting. Shamefully I like matcha lattes that balance matcha quality/strength with more creaminess, so this was too much for me. But yeah this is quality stuff and the cup was quite large despite being a "small"

The quality of the matcha is amazing! The iced matcha latte was so creamy, and not too sweet. You can taste the matcha, and it's not powdery. The matcha tiramisu is so creamy. The strawberry matcha is perfect, not too sweet. The staff are all so kind, they work fast even when the line gets long. There are only two tables inside, and it's a small space.

I've been here a few times on two different trips now (which is saying something, because I'm more of a Manhattan girlie than a Brooklyn girlie.) How does this keep happening? My friend who works in the neighborhood routinely enjoys their Usucha ("thin tea", or plain matcha)--it's prepared well and is soothing and has a rich bitter matcha flavor. Twice, I ordered my Kuro mitsu Matcha Latte. It's rich and sweet (hey, kuromitsu is a Japanese syrup!) Matcha Cheese Cake was also rich, sweet, and just the right amount of bitterness. The interior is very minimalist, intimate, and cozy. Service is fine.

We were walking around the area and found this cha-ya. Tried a new drink today! Matcha latte with Kinako- roasted soy bean. If you like Kinako you will like it. It's a little grainy and nutty flavored. Kinako powder is usually a topper on mochi and other desserts. Cute little cafe for tea.

4.7/5 Matcha Soft Serve -- very impressed! Matcha flavor is very strong and bitter forward if you like that! Ice cream base is very smooth, and didn't melt too fast even when eating by Domino Park! Only some slight grittiness of the matcha powder noted as it melted. Portion is also super generous, easily could be split between 2 people.

While strolling around Williamsburg, I was getting thirsty and found this matcha spot. There's a kiosk to order your drinks while you can watch the tea masters whisking the matcha. I ordered the Matcha with Coconut Water ($7) and my friend had the Matcha Yuzu Lemonade ($7). The matcha is so earthy paired with the coconut water, which was so refreshing. This is such an authentic Japanese matcha shop with delicious matcha drinks.

Nippon Cha is a specialty matcha shop offering a range of snacks and desserts, from cakes to matcha-based drinks. The store also carries a selection of matcha tools and exclusively sells its own Nippon Cha branded matcha. On this visit, I ordered the strawberry matcha latte. While the strawberry syrup was quite sweet, it ended up overpowering the matcha. This may appeal to those who prefer a stronger sweetness, but I personally prefer a more balanced blend of matcha and fruit flavor. Despite this, I would visit Nippon Cha for all of your matcha making needs!

    Matcha Yuzu Lemonade

Super yummy! Was looking for a mid-afternoon pick me up and stumbled on this matcha place. The waiters were incredibly nice and they made our order within 2 minutes which is pretty impressive for a drinks place. We ordered the Matcha Yuzu Lemonade and this was delicious and I feel so inspired to try to replicate this drink at home. The yuzu flavor was very evident and didn't seem artificial at all. The matcha also added a nice layer onto it which was surprising as I thought the flavors would clash quite a bit. My only gripe is that they didn't fill out drink all the way up, maybe only to the 85% lines. Overall, absolutely fantastic drinks place and I will be back for more!

Got the kuromitsu matcha latte and really liked it. The flavor was unique and balanced, not overly sweet. A great spot if you're into trying different styles of matcha drinks.

Stopped by Nippon Cha and got their small matcha soft serve cone. absolutely delicious! It had that perfect balance of bitterness and sweetness that good matcha should have. The texture was creamy and smooth, not too heavy, and the flavor lingered just right. Service was friendly and quick, and the overall vibe was calm and clean. Definitely worth a stop if you're craving authentic matcha soft serve!

Nippon Cha was among the first places my friends and I stopped for our NYC matcha crawl. Since it was a Sunday, the line practically went out the door, and we were packed like sardines. Per usual, the interior had a clean, minimalist design and cozy atmosphere. Because they made the wrong order, we got a free matcha latte with soy milk! Ultimately, we got a matcha latte with oat milk and a (FREE) matcha latte with soy, which enhanced our matcha crawl experience. I noticed a subtle difference between the drinks due to the milk; the matcha latte with oat milk was creamier and sweeter than the soy latte. In comparison, the matcha soy had a grassier taste. Neither was bad! But it's a matter of preference; personally, I do prefer the bitterness. However, I also like a creamy matcha latte, so both have pros and cons. Despite the creamier oat latte than the soy latte, I found Nippon Cha, in general, to be more watery than the matcha lattes that I would end up trying later in the crawl. I'd gladly come back to try their desserts and other drinks, but I left feeling a bit underwhelmed.

Anyway, I was in Brooklyn with my brother to see a concert and had just finished dinner. We had some time before doors opened so we decided to grab a little ice cream before heading over to the venue. Farmacy was steps away - it all seemed like it was meant to be, so off we went. Farmacy aims to capture the nostalgia of an old fashioned soda shop and ice cream parlor. Immediately upon walking in we were greeted by aesthetics - the tile, fixtures, and decor totally give off that vibe. There are a few tables to sit as well as a large bar area with stools; I also noticed a few tables set up outside as well. The traffic flow is set up so that you order first and then have it served to you after sitting. Browsing the menu, I noticed they have a selection of ice cream scoops, shakes, egg creams, specialty sodas, hot chocolates, and a large variety of sundae creations. Since we were there for ice cream, we decided to split a sundae -specifically the Sir Twix-a-Lot. This was chunks for shortcake tossed in caramel and topped with vanilla ice cream that was coated in a chocolate shell. Overall I thought the sundae was solid - but the combinations of textures weren't my favorite to be honest, mostly with how the shortcake played with the ice cream. It wasn't bad though - the flavors definitely gave the Twix aesthetic. My only other issue with the dish was that because chocolate shell was used, any residue at the bottom was hard so you have to chisel it if you want to savor any last spoonfuls; I guess that comes with the territory. Service was good - everyone was friendly. It wasn't too busy when we were there so we had our selection of seats and our ice cream was ready pretty quickly. Overall, I'm glad I finally tried Brooklyn Farmacy out - they have a large selection so I would definitely return when I'm in the area again.

Seating space (not a lot of it, so I imagine it can get packed on busy times) and bathrooms on premises. Hot chocolate was delicious. We got the spiced dark chocolate and the spices were overwhelming. Get dark chocolate without spices. The extra dollar for marshmallow made the chocolate even sweeter, so it was overwhelming and I wouldn't recommend. But. The extra dollar for whipped cream would be nice because the their homemade whipped cream isn't sweet, so it will just thicken up the drink and give you that extra texture oooomph that you'll appreciate. Torino cafe is basically coffee added to any hot chocolate of your choice. That was tasty with dark chocolate. You definitely tasted the coffee and it was less thick than regular hot chocolate (which was on a thinner, sippier side). You can sample ice cream to make your selection. It's all very sweet, so if you're looking for a less sweet option go with Belgian dark chocolate flavor. For a $18 banana split you get three scoops of ice cream and a caramelized banana. Not a big portion for such hefty price. The tiny addition of toppings didn't make this banana split come together into a cohesive dish. Would get something else next time. Definitely not a good deal. Flavor-wise, I tried the masala chai, black cherry cardamom, and the saffron soft serve. The saffron soft serve reminded me of the leftover milk from ras malai turned into soft serve, which was interesting and nostalgic. The masala chai and cherry cardamom were more subtle than I hoped. Some tasted unique upfront but left a slightly weird aftertaste that kind of lingered. I respect what they're trying to do and can see why people love it, especially if you're easing into more globally inspired desserts, but for the price, I wanted stronger flavor payoff and a cleaner finish. TLDR: Unique global inspired ice cream flavors, friendly staff, and free samples, but some flavors felt muted and had an odd aftertaste.
