Matcha latte
Ally R.

I'm very glad I stumbled upon this spot serving up very authentic and high-quality Matcha. I opted for a Matcha latte with oat milk and their typical Matcha (they offer another variety for $2 more) and it was very enjoyable. The flavor was much more concentrated than other Matcha lattes I've tried and it was very delicious. They have a tasting room and I want to look into that as well, but regardless of if you book a tasting or not, I recommend stopping in. The ambience is relaxing and it's a very nice place to take a break. They also have a Toto toilet with a heated seat. I haven't seen those outside of Japan.

Love this spot! Great drinks and delicious cookies! I wish I had more time to try their tea tasting or some of their other drinks! It's such an elevated and aesthetic space. Staff was very friendly!

Very cute and zen matcha place located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The place is quite small but it has a row of seating good for 5 people and two stone tables. The menu is also very straightforward with 5 options of matcha which is nice for my indecisive self. The cashier was very patient in explaining the difference between each drink and the drink makers were professional in making and pouring the matcha. I got the basic matcha which tasted very good! I like that they do not add any sugar or honey in it so that we can control the portions ourselves. The place also sells cookies which I have yet to try. Will definitely be back to get some matcha the next time I'm in the area for food again.

Matcha cortado

The matcha cortado was perfect balance of milk and matcha, whisked frothy! The ladies at the counter were so bubbly and kind, helping me choose between oat milk and whole milk, hot and iced - I ask these questions because every cafe makes their matchas differently. Love the calm, airy feeling in this location but it does limit seating. There is a room behind the wall for tastings - next time! Also finally found a handmade whisk in stock here to replace my old one of many years!

Toasted Rice and Kinako Matcha Latte with oat milk

First time at the new location. Toasted Rice and Kinako Matcha Latte with oat milk was awesome. I do prefer their other location because they have hojicha and ice cream there, but cool that they're doing well enough to have expanded!

Disappointed that almond milk isn't an option there. Won't be ordering drinks there but their matcha powder is really good

Yummy matcha drink!…read more When you walk in you are in a cozy whimsical cafe with cafe inspired interior. There's some seating available , perfect for catching up with friends. Even though they are known for their matcha drinks, I decided to get their seasonal drink instead: Matcha Peach Fizz. Not too bubbly nor sour , there is a good amount of matcha and a touch of peach with every sip. Quick service even though it is busy af.

A great stop on a walk!…read more Kijitora is a really cute cafe and i absolutely loved the interior of the store. On the right side there's a wall of stickers and stationary that I think you can miss if you're not looking. The staff was on top of it, I usually don't order drinks and I had just stopped by here randomly so I hadn't prepared my usual order details and the cashier made sure to clarify everything just in case; sweetened, ice, milk or substitute, etc. And the drink was made on the spot and quite fast I got my drink within two minutes which I found impressive as a line had soon formed in the shop right as I came. I got the hojicha, which I find most shops can't do well. Theirs is really solid though! Not the best I've had but I think it's hard to knock my socks off in general for hojicha and very good compared to the average hojicha Ive tasted in my life. I don't remember there being place for you to sit or if there was it was only one or two places. the shop was a bit small but enough to accommodate a small line inside comfortably.

I later returned on several occasions and tried their Moon Milk, which is a delicious mixture of turmeric, cardamom, coconut and ashwahganda, the Key to the Garden drink (coconut, nutmeg, cacao, cinnamon and maple), their vanilla chocolate chip cookies and regular chocolate chip cookies. You can get these drinks hot or iced. I had all of them iced! I also had one of the best iced matcha lattes ever from here with sweet coconut milk. WOW. From what I've seen, baked goods change daily and their drink menus change semi often as well, which is exciting!! Outside, there is some seating, lovely items and books for purchase and a window to order, as well as the menu items displayed on boards and items around the space. Inside is quite similar, but with more items for sale and more seating. The vibes are immaculate and this seems to be a space that's community centered and has an emphasis on carrying items made by local artists. Remember to bring cash to tip. I cannot wait until my next visit here!!

Okay, so you walk in and you don't even know where to begin. There is so much in this tiny shop,…read moreit's amazing to think I walked out minus $92 and with 12+ little bags of goodies. I mean, c'mon, how could you not try the China Rose Tea? The delicious perfumey Earl Grey? The shop's own blended Orange Spice, Almond and Ginger teas? The superbly caffeinated Assam B.O.P.,? Their insane blend of chai spices and rose petals... well, I think you get the picture. Yes, I bought all of that plus a few others, so what?! The gentleman behind the counter, I don't even know his name and guess what? I like it like that. He's a mystical genius with an endless knowledge of everything. He's wicked nice and helpful too. All of my questions were graciously answered and suggestions made. It seems he went to some Hogwarts School of Tea or something. Now, he's not British, but he stocks a bunch of British staples - jams, crisps, cookies, etc. How cool is that? The pickled onion Monster Munch snacks will blow your mind. The 45 minutes or so I spent in there was pretty dreamy - I witnessed tons of people come in and out. Not a line out the door, but just a constant stream of locals, it was a delightful afternoon. Oh yea, prices are pretty reasonable for what you're getting, but cash and personal checks only - no cards. Personal checks!
