Genuinely, everything I had from this place was life-changingly delicious. I don't have sweet tooth and I'm very much more savory person but the sesame dacquoise was life changing, I levitated. It was so clever because dacquoise is chewy with nutty flavor and sesame was lightly sweetened and it reminded me of mochi but just 10000% elevated. I need to come back again. They had amazing sweets there.

A great bakery! Loved the desserts here. Next time I want to come back with enough stomach room to try their prix fixe dessert tasting menu. My friend and I were in Williamsburg and wanted to have some dessert. We each got a hot beverage and split three desserts: matcha crème brûlée, hojicha cheese cake, and the matcha tiramisu. We both agreed that the best one was the matcha crème brûlée. The matcha tiramisu was more like a matcha cake rather than having a traditional tiramisu texture. We both really enjoyed our drinks as well! I got some additional goodies to take home like their matcha cookies, matcha cheesecake, and yuzu cheesecake. All were good but my favorite was the matcha cookie: it was quite a big cookie, so green like Elphaba lmao, and very matcha-y without being bitter. Packaging for to go orders was very cute too. Overall I really liked the stuff here and I wish I lived closer to it so that I could come by more often.

This cafe serves a lot of asian flavored desserts and everything looks great so I definitely had a hard time deciding what to get! I ended up getting their green tea roll cake, hojicha Mille crepe, and strawberry mousse and and I really enjoyed everything I ordered! They have limited seating inside. They do have bar seating that's normally used for their tasting course, but it's available if there aren't a lot of people here for the tasting.

The cutest cafe ever! The bakery interior is so cozy and intimate, packed with plants and adorable decorations. The huge windows also gives the cafe amazing lighting and just makes the place feel very alive. I've been here a couple times, once just getting a la carte items, and another getting the dessert pre-fixe course. All of the a la carte items are delicious. I love that they have so many Asian flavors, like black sesame, yuzu, and hojicha. I really loved the hojicha crepe cake. The dessert pre-fixe was also a great experience. Every course comes plated so beautifully, and all the bites were super yummy. It's also fun to sit at the counter for it, because it kind of feels like dessert omakase.

Such a cute little spot for desserts! I honestly couldn't tell you exactly what I ordered -- I just went with the recommendations from the guy at the register, and he did not steer me wrong. Both desserts were delicious, each with its own unique sweetness that wasn't too overpowering. Definitely a great place to swing by if you're in the mood to satisfy your sweet tooth without going overboard. Charming and worth the visit!

I love this place! Who doesn't love Japanese/Asian inspired pastries. I heard the pastry chef from cha-an came here. My friend had a yuzu chocolate birthday cake made from here and it was absolutely heavenly. I've done a girls night out here for desserts and it was always delicious.

cute ! i haven't noticed it before but glad we came for dessert. we especially liked the banana choco tart -- so rich and decadent ! matcha crepe cake had stronger matcha flavor than the matcha tiramisu despite the lighter green appearance

Can't believe I'm only learning about Patisserie Tomoko now!! Their Japanese influenced desserts were delicious! My partner brought me here to try their dessert prix fixe $29.5 menu, which featured a starter dessert, main course dessert, then a couple of small bites to end. Our starter was an earl grey ice cream with candied persimmon bits, which were both tasty and nicely balanced. For mains, I really enjoyed my black sesame creme brulee. It was very soft in texture which contrasted with the sesame crackers that it came with. The strong sesame and creamy flavors paired nicely with the refreshing sake ice cream. My partner's hojicha chocolate souffle was also very fluffy with a molten chocolate center, although the hojicha flavors weren't prominent. The last bites featured a variety of savory cookies and sweets, of which I really enjoyed the matcha crunch. It was a shortbread-like cookie covered with matcha/white chocolate. I loved how it was super crunchy with a perfect ratio of chocolate and a long lasting matcha taste. Needless to say I got some to-go to enjoy at home. They also offer other cakes, cookies, and mochi options. I think their mochi is one of the best that I've had in the US. They are soft and just the right amount of chew! They have three flavors, earl grey chocolate, matcha, and red bean black sesame. I was surprised that the earl grey chocolate was my favorite because of its truffle-like texture and mix of tea/chocolate flavors. The store itself offers table and bar seating, although the latter is typically reserved for prix fixe folks. I like the open kitchen concept cause you can see them make all kinds of goodies while you enjoy your own dessert. Its pretty intimate with the fairy lights and greenery. Overall I loved the desserts and the vibes; can't wait to come back to try more!

Last night I dreamed about the yuzu cheesecake, the cream puff and sparkling yuzu drink. Yesterday, I finally ate desserts at Patisserie Tomoko with Raj who had told me that he wanted to take me there. Raj has been here countless times and likes it a lot. We sat at the counter which was comfortable. Bring a weekday, there were few customers. We ordered cappuccinos, two cream puffs, a gâteau au chocolat and a yuzu cheesecake. All the pastries were delicious. Then Raj told me that I simply had to have the refreshing yuzu drink. Freshly made, it was ambrosial. I could have had two. We ate slowly and finished every bite. Chef Tomoko and Chef Hiro were hard at work prepping. Billie Holiday was singing among other jazz singers. Chef Hiro enjoys jazz. The weekends here get busy so it was good that we came on a weekday. I am planning to return for more of the yuzu cheesecake and drink. The interior had lots of foliage and some pictures.

Review: Best Japanese French Desserts in Williamsburg, Brooklyn The desserts are worth traveling across boroughs for. In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we were craving a delightful fusion of Japanese and French pastries, look no further. Nestled in this vibrant neighborhood is a gem of a dessert spot that expertly marries the delicate flavors of Japan with the finesse of French patisserie. Among their standout offerings, the Green Tea Roll, Triple Berry Crepe Cake, and Hojicha Affogato are absolute must-tries. Green Tea Roll:This dessert is a masterclass in balance and subtlety. The Green Tea Roll features a light, airy sponge cake infused with the earthy, slightly bitter notes of matcha. The cake is rolled with a creamy, slightly sweet airy filling that complements the matcha perfectly. The texture is divine, with each bite melting in your mouth. It's a refreshingly light dessert that doesn't overwhelm your palate, making it a perfect choice for those who appreciate the nuanced flavors of green tea. Triple Berry Crepe Cake: is a testament to the artistry of French patisserie with a Japanese twist. This cake is composed of multiple thin, delicate crepes layered with a rich, velvety cream. Interspersed between the crepes are fresh, juicy berries that add a burst of flavor and a lovely tartness to balance the sweetness of the cream. The combination of textures--from the soft crepes to the smooth cream and the succulent berries--creates a harmonious symphony in every bite. It's a dessert that not only tastes incredible but also looks stunning, making it a great choice for special occasions. Hojicha Affogato For those who love a bit of theater with their dessert, the Hojicha Affogato is an experience not to be missed. This dessert features a scoop of creamy, rich ice cream that is bathed in a shot of warm, roasted hojicha tea. The hojicha, with its deep, smoky flavor, pairs beautifully with the sweetness of the vanilla ice cream, creating a complex and satisfying flavor profile. The crowning glory, however, is the sprinkling of fragrant caramelized nuts. They add a delightful crunch and a hint of sweetness, enhancing the overall experience. It's a dessert that engages all your senses and leaves a lasting impression. If you're in Williamsburg and have a sweet tooth, this spot should be on your list. The Green Tea Roll, Triple Berry Crepe Cake, Hojicha Affogato with Caramelized Nuts, and Green Tea Crème Brûlée are all fantastic choices. Each dessert is thoughtfully made, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious.

Stopped in for an afternoon coffee and a sweet pick me up while strolling around Williamsburg. Was attracted to the Japanese pastry idea which did not disappoint. I tried a piece of their yuzu chocolate layered mousse cake. It was amazing! Very light and flavorful. Many layers of thin crepes and mousse. Had this with my standard Americano coffee and life was good. Server was very pleasant and the ambiance was cool and intimate. I will certainly go back.

I loved the salted caramel Mille crepe cake. It was light and airy and the caramel taste wasn't too strong or sweet. We also had the green tea cheesecake which was good with a strong tea flavor. Overall, I'd come back for the crepe cake. You order at the counter and they may run out of items in the afternoon.

They have dessert tasting menu on the weekends. The bar seating is for the prix fixe tasting menu only on the weekends. If not, you can order and pay at the counter and grab the few seats available away from the bar. For the tasting menu- you can pick a main dessert, the starter and the petit fours are set. It was a great selection of the menu. Started with a plate that had poached peaches, jelly, almond cookie and ice cream. I had the sesame crème brûlée which was decadent and not too sweet. My friend had the Mont Blanc which was the best Mont Blanc I've ever had. The petit fours had an assortment of desserts, we got to try 8 items that they let us share between two of us. I quite enjoyed the strawberry cookie(unsure of the name) and the walnut brownie but were light and well rounded. Full disclosure, I enjoy a light dessert but am not a dessert person, I prefer savory food but this was a great spot and I'd come back to try some other interesting items on their menu. Cute little dessert spot with very tasty and unique taste on desserts.

Ask the Community - Patisserie Tomoko

Hello! Are gift cards available to purchase?

I didn't see any. Call the patisserie to find out.

    Do they take reservations?

    Yes for their dessert tastings

How much is the matcha cake?

    Do they have delivery service?

I don't believe so. You can, however, order for takeout. About 3/4 of the bar is for dine-in seating, and 1/4 of it is the takeout counter with some desserts in a glass display.

I first ordered a chai latte and he said I could do two different syrups so I got the pumpkin and salted maple, though I was worried about it being too sugary so he suggested I could just do half a pump of each. He asked me what the name of the order would be and I said "Aida" (the phonetic spelling is ah-EE-dah). And then I heard the other barista say something along the lines of, "oh Aida, how about 'Aida' rather not be here", pretty rude if you ask me. And then I ordered the spicy nook sandwich. And when another server called my named to grab it she didn't even knowledge me when I tried to thank her and instead she talked to her coworker while I was right in front of her. The sandwich was really good, so was my chai tea. I really like the pumpkin and salt and maple syrups too. I did like all the options for seating although it was pretty packed. I'd say if you have a big party get there early. By 7pm the whole place was filled. There was a huge majong club that came in and took the whole back area, it was so crammed there were lines for the bathroom. Over all I had a good time. I really like the music too just know it gets very busy in there. The employees I would say were hit or miss. The ones that were great though I really liked. Just seem like the ones who didn't really give attention to customers or were kind of rude seemed like they didn't wanna be there.
