Shucks I wanted to give this place five stars but it didn't start so well. The first barista who took my order was really great. I first ordered a chai latte and he said I could do two different syrups so I got the pumpkin and salted maple, though I was worried about it being too sugary so he suggested I could just do half a pump of each. He asked me what the name of the order would be and I said "Aida" (the phonetic spelling is ah-EE-dah). And then I heard the other barista say something along the lines of, "oh Aida, how about 'Aida' rather not be here", pretty rude if you ask me. And then I ordered the spicy nook sandwich. And when another server called my named to grab it she didn't even knowledge me when I tried to thank her and instead she talked to her coworker while I was right in front of her. The sandwich was really good, so was my chai tea. I really like the pumpkin and salt and maple syrups too. I did like all the options for seating although it was pretty packed. I'd say if you have a big party get there early. By 7pm the whole place was filled. There was a huge majong club that came in and took the whole back area, it was so crammed there were lines for the bathroom. Over all I had a good time. I really like the music too just know it gets very busy in there. The employees I would say were hit or miss. The ones that were great though I really liked. Just seem like the ones who didn't really give attention to customers or were kind of rude seemed like they didn't wanna be there. read more

This is one of my favorite coffee shops I've tried to date (and I've tried A LOT). I ventured out to bushwick from the city to try this place and it did not disappoint. It has such a homey vibe and everyone working is incredibly friendly. The espresso was absolutely delicious. I've been thinking about it since I was there last weekend. the place definitely fills up so I would recommend getting there earlier if you want a seat as you can tell this is THE neighborhood spot. I wish I tried the food as I saw a few people eating these toasted cheese sandwiches that actually looked mouth watering. Another girl had a yogurt bowl with honey that looked incredible as well. It was the 14th Annual Bushwick Collective Black Party. It was advertised as starting at 10am and we parked at 10:30. Not.much was set up. Nook saved the day! Not only did we use their bathroom (thank you!) But I got an iced strawberry matcha, an everything croissant and pretzel bites. Everything was good! I would do it all over again. This is such a cute spot. Nook is well named, as there are plenty of Nooks in this coffee shop to lay in and read a book, catch up on work, or just hang with friends. The line was almost out the door at 3 pm on a Wednesday, and virtually every seat was taken. The baristas moved the lines along well though despite everything. Can't speak to the food here but it did look like they had some baked goods in the windows. The bathroom was clean and accessible, I did not end up getting coffee here but everyone was happy with theirs in terms of price and brew strength. This is HANDS DOWN my favorite coffee shop to come and read a book I've ever been to in my entire life. The name Nook is an absolute perfect name for this place. This is one of the coziest coffee spots I've ever been too I showed up right at 9am and was welcomed by some lovely staff and there were only about 5 people in here and I found my perfect cozy spot in the back to read a book where no laptops are allowed. I can not overstate how cozy this place is. My Cappucino was crafted excellently and the everything croisssant was wonderful with a cream cheese filling. I stayed for about 2 hours and by the time I left there was defintely more people but it didn't bother me and still was cozy and quiet enough to continue reading. Even though I live nowhere near here I will continue to make an effort to keep coming back over and over again to have a perfect weekend morning. read more

Came around 12pm on a Saturday and it was packed, as one would expect around lunchtime on a weekend. I managed to snag a seat at the larger communal table after trying out a high-top that creaked loudly at any movement. I ordered an ice matcha latte with oat milk and an almond croissant. The latte was fine, and the croissant was flaky, but without any of the crispiness and all of the soft moistness. The barista calling out drinks would alternate between calling out people's names or the drink order, which was confusing for me because I didn't want to accidentally take someone else's drink. When I tried confirming that my drink was mine, the worker kinda gave me attitude and just repeated what the drink order was. Decent spot for a drink, and the sandwiches looked appetizing, but not appetizing enough for me to want to return. read more

Had the opportunity to come here for a quick bite on a weekday evening. The first thing I noticed was how spacious this cafe was. With seating both indoors and out, this offers patrons the option of enjoying the ideal cafe setting inside or being amongst the bustle of Bushwick outdoors. When it came time to order I was happy to see a curated list of both specialty drinks (lattes, alcoholic beverages, etc.), along with a healthy list of both breakfast and meal dishes too. We ended up trying out the Barista's Choice sandwich which was the perfect combination of turkey on sourdough with all the right fixings. Service here was also hospitable and the baristas were efficient in making and calling out orders, even when it was busy. "Because sometimes there is truth in advertising." I went to nook because I randomly wanted to join a women's writing group and they were having it there. So I took an Uber there. There are normal seats like a cafe including ones along the window. There are coffee/tea options including the matcha latte with oat milk I ordered. There are also food options like sandwiches and pretzel bites. I also personally like the fact they have a specific policy on how long one can sit before they have to purchase again. I rather that than having it be nebulous. Plus they have constant events in the space with certain topics so you have the chance to meet people if you are not working. But as its name foreshadows, this is a place full of nooks (at least 3 from my quick count). Two of those nooks are ideal for "small" group meetups which I was in. Definitely on the cozy side. One additional nook is more elevated and requires removal of shoes. A bit more intimate and great for friends. Overall, if I am in the area I could definitely come back. read more

Nook has mastered how to truly create community within this space. The furniture in the shop is unique and I recently found out it's all handcrafted by the owner! The shop is brightly lit and play chill music in the mornings and is a great place to start the work day. I do wish there was a larger pastry selection as they are frequently out of what I'm looking for, but the coffee and other menu items are always prepared with care. Nook also serves wine and beer so is a great spot to stop by in the evenings. They host events most nights of the week (which they post info about on their Instagram) and the space usually looks filled when I walk by. read more

Nook is great! They have coffee, food, even beer & wine. Their coffee is delicious. I always get either a latte with simple syrup or a latte with vanilla. In the summer, they have tables out for local talents to display / sell their goods. Always a good time. The interior is super cozy. They have board games and a spot in the back to be barefoot and sit on the floor. Hard to describe but it's always full! Both indoor and outdoor seating, although last I was there it seemed like they were tearing the outdoor seating out. You can do work there, they have great seats for it. On weekdays there are events like chess, a writing club, even poetry night. They do so much here, it's a hard spot not to love! The service is usually good and the baristas make the coffee so well! It definitely was cozy and had an adorable pillow nook, which I think had it not been so crowded would've been so nice to study at. I went Wednesday around 2P too so i thought it wouldn't be too crowded. In anycase, I left before ordered anything. The place is definitely a work-friendly space. Everyone there during midday was working on something. Get there before 1 as it may be hard to find a seat otherwise. We also do flyers of trivia nights and other events that seemed fun. We'd love to check those out. The croissant was huge and the caramel latte was tasty. I don't remember if they warm the pastries (I think they did) but overall you can't go wrong with the classics. They have other items I would try like their sandwiches next time. They do have some moderate, classical Brooklyn hipster vibes, I suppose. Could be fun to visit if you're in the area. A perfect place to get some work done or do some reading. I was there on a Sunday at about 11 AM and it was very quiet, no music and not many people hanging out. Definitely good for my purpose of just heading over to have a coffee and read. All the furniture is handmade by the owner which is really cool. The coffee menu is ok, nothing too out of the ordinary and they don't roast their own but the latte I got was good. They have a pretty decent sandwich selection as well and you can get a half sandwich if you would like which I found cool. Service was ok, efficient but not super friendly .
