The Ukranian Borscht with Sourdough Bread had well cooked chunks of beets. The Sourdough Bread is a good addition for soaking up the broth (and the sauces of other dishes). The Potato and Cheese Pierogi were decent sized with a load of potato and cheese inside. The caramelized onions add good flavor. Definitely a well made classic. The Lazy Dumpling, was ordered upon the recommendation of someone who just finished eating, and wow I'm glad he recommended it. Al dente dough soaking up all that cremini mushroom flavor. It was a bit heavy for me because of the cream (curse my lactose intolerance) but the pickles help cut that richness. The Homemade Beet and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream comes in a chilled glass! Groups can congregate in the lounge-y areas but the feel is remarkably different depending on where one choses to hang. On a beverage front, there is no shortage of quality drinks to be had. The cocktails are well made and not expensive; the bartenders do a good job of making sure each drink carries a certain kind of potency before leaving the bar. The happy hours are lovely as well, combined with a good deals ($5 shot + beer special, $5 cocktails, etc.) and even better hours (2-8pm!). Lastly, I appreciate a good name.
