But once we tasted the banana bread, pumpkin cheesecake, chocolate cake and tres leches cake, all doubts disappeared. The tres leches was perfectly tasty and moist, not dry at all. Most tres leches you get are sitting in a moat of condensed milk, topped with unimpressive frosting and sandwiching painfully sweet cake. THIS IS NOT THAT. Their ratio is spot-on. When I tell you that this was THE BEST TRES LECHES CAKE I'VE EVER HAD, I'm not exaggerating. Staff was friendly. And the banana bread? Delicious with a crisp, golden crust. The chocolate cake was straight from the Willy Wonka factory. The pumpkin cheesecake was creamy and delicious. Buttah Bakery may not look like much from the outside, but the treats definitely do not trick!!!! Can't wait to go back.

Every year, the owner sweetly emails me to confirm my order and what is to be written on the top of the cake. We've done this 3 years running. Buttah provides a top notch birthday cake experience, super friendly and sweet service, prompt attention, and wins the award for BEST CAKE EVAH, according to my daughter and all her many friends! All I want to say is: "THANK YOU SO MUCH, BUTTAH!!!" "it's like BUTTAH" Buttah's birthday cakes have become an annual family tradition for us!! Best Birthday Cake Ever. Truly.

By the time I walked in around 11:45, all their scones were gone. :( So I made do with a scrumptious cinnamon bun! :) The cinnamon bun was fantastic and so loaded with cinnamon. Taking a bite into it was like cinnamon bun heaven. The server was cheerful and was recommending different things to me in lieu of selling out the scones. It's a very small place with a couple of seats inside and more so outside. I will make sure I get there early enough for the scones! I've been told they sell out around 11AM.

For a bakery that generates this much interest, the setup feels strangely unfinished. There's nowhere comfortable to sit, nowhere practical to wait when there's a line, product availability is often disappointing, and on top of that the shop closes at 3PM. For many people, that means arriving only to discover limited options or a closed storefront. What makes this especially confusing is that this location is in Ridgewood, a neighborhood already full of strong food and coffee options. Opening a highly anticipated bakery should bring something new and enjoyable to the community. Instead, it feels like customers are expected to adapt to a business model that prioritizes operational convenience over the actual customer experience. Maybe from a business perspective this investment makes sense. But from a customer perspective, the excitement of finally having this bakery in the neighborhood quickly turns into frustration. I wanted to become a regular customer, but every visit feels unnecessarily inconvenient. The products deserve better than the experience surrounding them.
